Hotel Gloria La Paz3.0 out of 5.0

You have to unplug the main light (which is not easy to do due to its position) in order to free a socket for charging devices. Terrible internet. No waste paper basket. All rooms seem to be twin - no double beds!!! Very underwhelming breakfast buffet. Constant noise from the beeping traffic - it is situated at a busy junction in downtown.
This is an old hotel, but I found it to be very clean and the staff very helpful and kind! I would recommend it! It is well situated in the city and within walking distance of shops and restaurants. I enjoyed my stay very much - thanks to all at Gloria La Paz!
We arrived here after a long week in Lima and Cusco AirBnB accommodations. It has been a pleasure staying here, so far.... Mattress excellent, CPUs hit water with good pressure in shower, bathroom immaculate, staff at reception spoke flawless English and were super helpful. Tom if quiet with minimal traffic noise. Plaza Murillo with the presidential palace and House of Congress is 5 minutes away, Plaza Mayor 5 minutes in the opposite direction. Witches Market is 15 minutes walk. Excellent high end restaurants within walking distance as also a super food court serving a variety of Bolivian dishes at 1/3rd the price of the expensive restaurants. Will try the hotel buffet breakfast tomorrow. Have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, even at the US$61 per night we are paying.
I stayed 5 nights at this hotel that offers value for money. The good breakfast is served at the top floor that offers nice views of the city. The rooms are not too big but the beds are comfortable and clean
I stayed at this hotel for 10 days and really enjoyed myself here. It is in a central location in the city of La Paz and is easy to walk around to find the essentials (pharmacy across the street, food in every corner, attractions in walking distance). The staff was amazing and very attentive to us. I will be staying here again.
Breakfast is on the top floor. It's the 180 degree view, not the food that makes this great, although I had some of the best crusty bread yet (of all the hotels I stayed in Peru, none had this good bread- as in La Paz, Bolivia) It takes a bit of extra time and dollars to get here, but for big cities, I'm really glad I came here (on their 4th of July!). Very courteous staff, helpful and sweet. Make sure you take a 4 ticket trip to the top of the gondola and see all of La Paz. Built in a crater?
It is a basic hostel with quiet rooms. Still, I am a bit suspicious concerning cleaning frequency and there was no windows in our room giving this bad humidity smell. It was 120bs for a matrimonial, hot water and wifi.
The Hotel is located near the main square, everything is near like the brujas market, the goverment house, and the main activities, but the hotel is old and need an urgent update, the Tv are 14 inches you do not see this kind of TV's anymore, and it is very cold and you do not have extra blankets.
My wife and I stayed at this hotel as a part of a delegation to study the indigenous people of Bolivia. It is very centrally located and easy for non-Spanish speakers. The room was somewhat small but clean and adequate. The restaurant was quite good. Price was a bit high ($80+/night) but overall width it.
In a city where nice hotels are hard to come by I should not be too harsh. However, the rooms are small and uncomfortable. The location is not bad and in walking distance to all majors sites the city has to offer.
