Kyoto Tower Hotel Annex

Hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating. I arrived a few hours early, just wanting to drop my luggage off, but they allowed me to check in without charging me extra. Rooms are small but very nice (probably large for Japanese standards). They have an 'amenity wall' with everything you could possibly need, located in the lobby. Breakfast is a mix of Japanese and western foods. Location- about a 5 minute walk from Kyoto main station, very easy to find and slightly away from all the madness of the main station but yet close enough to hop on the trains.

To describe just how good a stay I have had at Kyoto Tower Hotel Annex, I kinda wish I don't have to share this review.... Well, just a lot more cos I wanna keep them all to myself and for my family... Haha! But, it is important I do cos you want to know too right?? First of all, the location is just 1 junction away from Kyoto Station. It's a more affordable option from the famed sister, Kyoto Tower Hotel, but there are no shortcomings to this. For me, a definite yes to keep going back! Some people like Hotel Granvia for the view and convenience but I say, go for Kyoto Tower Hotel Annex instead! Bathroom is a little crammed but what they lack in size, they make up for amply well in amenities and cleanliness/housekeeping! 👍🏼👍🏼 Love that there are power outlets everywhere, for the twin-share there's an outlet and a USB jack on each side. Lots of toiletries and even free facial masks and other necessities offered at the lobby. Although, we shouldn't go crazy and grab everything like it's a buffet... LOL! The female service staff are exceptional. Especially, Ms Nakamura who checked us in: She was courteous and very accommodating. Helped us get a room with a nice view of the tower. 👍🏼 And kudos to Ms A Wei who helped us out with extra pillows and other arrangements. She speaks good English and gave us really great advice on where to go etc. Vicinity: Just across from this hotel, there's a decent supermarket in case you need extra water and snacks for the night. Plenty of goodies from here! About 150 meters away from the hotel is our favourite Yodobashi Mall. This is a haven for us with all the shopping we need and plenty of tech gadgets and a couple of good sporting shops to hunt down what you need. Even though we had shopped in Osaka, we much preferred Kyoto instead. Really. Service and people much friendlier. The 3-coins shop just down the escalator from the station has a good selection of Japanese paraphernalia to choose from. In case you do get the hunger pangs late at night, there's also a Lawson convenience store just round the corner from here. Perfect for us! A short walk away from the hotel is Kyoto station. This is so central if you need to get around to all the main attractions. Take the bus or train, it's up to you. We met an elderly bus guide ambassador, he spoke perfect English and soooo... friendly and nice! 😊 Laundry: Kyoto Tower Hotel Annex laundrette is so clean and new with washing powder already included in the 300yen wash! Perfect for us so we didn't have to lug a lot on our 2-week vacay. Housekeeping: We girls had a lot to carry. Though the room didn't allow a lot of room for us to put our big luggages, the housekeeping still did an excellent job of cleaning up everyday! We applaud them and I'm looking forward to my next stay there already! Hope I get to meet our friendly Ms Wei and Ms Nakamura again. Thank you and well done Kyoto Tower Hotel Annex!🌻

Location convenient to train station, staff at front were very nice and helpful, and spoke English. Our room was a "twin" on the top floor, although small by US standards it is comfortable, efficient, and IMHO spacious by Japanese hotel norms. Clean, good amenities. The breakfast buffet is pretty simple, nothing fancy but tasty and very adequate for us. I would definitely recommend this hotel, we enjoyed our stay.

This hotel, which I believe had been looking a little tired has just been rennovated and is looking very slick. The rooms are small still, of course, but it was lovely to have everything so bright and shiny. The beds were VERY comfortable and the pillows great. Air conditioning worked well and was reasonably quiet and it was handy to have a small bar fridge. Prices are still reasonable and the location is very handy for the station. The breakfast buffet was impressive and offers some interesting choices for Western tastes....dig in. There are plenty of staff who are helpful but the intensity of the Japanese official politeness/distance can ve a bit off-putting. You don't stay here for atmosphere anyway. There is a public bath available around the corner at the maon hotel if you need.

Welcome to Kyoto! I have not stayed here, but live in an apartment nearby. The noise from people coming and going is often intense.I have gotten used to the ambulances that come by all night... but travelers with no sense for how to respect others is a different story. If you stay here, please consider the fact that you are visiting a quiet, (generally) respectful city. One night I saw some young tourists climbing in and out of the windows...next time I will be calling the 👮 travel safely everyone!

Traveled with mother so called the hotel a week prior to the arrival. The reservation staff could speak good Eng and was help to ensure the room is a twin-bed room. Location of the hotel is great, less than 5 minutes walk from Kyoto Station even with luggage. Better to print the instruction from hotel web site if going from the station. Plenty of restaurant in the underground street and at Yodobashi building (but mind the closed time is around 10pm). Great hotel!

I stayed in this hotel for three nights with my family. The rooms were not as spacious as I expected but hotel staffs were very nice , friendly to every people . The receptionist were friendly to all the foreigners who stayed in the hotel. For one thing that they have to do some adjustment is the breakfast choices. We stayed there 3days but the food was all the same .in general, it is a nice hotel and there are 2convenient stores nearby .

Kyoto tower annex is located in a pretty convenient location, a short walk from the Kyoto station. They have English speaking staff and the service is good though the triple room is a bit too small for 3 adults.

We booked a triple room as we were travelling with our 19 year old granddaughter . When we got to the room you couldn't even fully open the door as the hotel had simply jammed a third bed into an already tiny room .... and it was the most expensive hotel we stayed in despite the others being 5 star and sumptuous. The staff were lovely !!!!

I booked this hotel for my parents and sister who stayed here from May9-12. They were super satisfied with their stay and in fact, they can't help but compare this hotel to the one they stayed in Tokyo. Nice location (walking distance to train station) and very good breakfast. My mom who's a picky eater was all praise to the breakfast. They have a lot of freebies (toothbrush/shampoo, etc) and guests have a discount to Kyoto Tower too. We'll definitely bookmark this hotel for our next travel to Japan.
