The location is great! Walking distance to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho (leaning Buddha). The staff is impeccably polite and welcome you as if you were the only person staying with them. The food was also great (breakfast buffet style) and the room was big and comfortable. The hotel is also walking distance to a night market which is literally across the street, via an alley where you will find various massage parlors, food stands, and shopping. Overall, great hotel and would be our first choice when returning to Bangkok.

The beds were hard. Everything looked outdated. Reminded me of a motel 6

A female staff member saw that I was having trouble communicating with a taxi driver and she came out to help translate. All the staff greeted us smiles and willingness to help.

Kyoto is a walking city, and the Aranvery Hotel was well located. It was a short walk to the train station, a large temple, and even the river was not too far away. There are many restaurants nearby.

Maybe I'm just not well versed in staying in Japanese hotels, but I felt this place was seriously overpriced. The same hotel room in any major U.S city would have cost a fraction of the price. Also, the staff refused to remove a charge for the breakfast (about $45 if I'm not mistaken, way overpriced IMO) for the second day of our stay when we checked out before breakfast was even being served. I asked them to remove it multiple times during our stay. They were not impolite, but they were also not friendly toward my family at all. An expensive lesson learned.
