We stayed for one night traveling for a UT game, and were grateful that it wasn't more than that. The lobby was clean, the room was clean and looked fine, the free breakfast was better than the usual continental breakfast at places like this. However, the price wasn't really that great, since it was a game weekend, which is understandable, but when we walked in the room, we were completely overwhelmed by cigarette smoke smell and really unpleasant air freshener meant to cover it up. I called the front desk to ask to have the room changed, and they said they couldn't do anything because the whole hotel was sold out. Therefore, I woke up with my eyes super swollen, stuffy nose, and allergies going crazy from both the cigarette smoke and the gross air freshener, which was embedded in pillows, sheets, and ultimately even my clothes. The next day, everything I brought home smelled like a combo of smoke and cheap air freshener. I'm not sure which was worse.
Great stopover especially when traveling with your dog. Restaurant across the street. Decent breakfast and wifi included.
Great place to stay for the money. Had to be in and out in a hurry and this was ideally located for an easy turnaround. Great breakfast setup!
Stayed here with my kids and everything worked out well. Pool was great and free breakfast was very good.
Fresh baked cookies were at the front eek when we checked in. The staff was very helpful. The room was very clean and ready for our arrival. Check out we breeze. Complimentary breakfast was available in the morning. Several restaurants were nearby. Very short drive to UT.
Came into town the night before the game and had a pleasant stay. Room was clean, beds were super comfortable and breakfast was great! They even had a shuttle to the game (we didn't know ahead of time, so we didn't use it).
This was the nicest hotel I have been to in a long while! This ranks up there with the top quality $200 a night room motels! The bathroom was no nicely organized and decorated. I wish I could stay again next month, but they were out of rooms!
Enjoyable stay. Met expectations. Highly recommended.
Pleased with hotel experience. Nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. My wife is real sensitive about hotel cleanliness and this place passed mustard with her!
I asked in advance for a ground floor. I got a room in the forth floor. Otherwise the accomodations were OK.
In town for graduation. Hotel breakfast was great! They even had an automatic pancake maker.
Very clean rooms and comfy beds. Hot breakfast was wonderful and all the food was fresh. Pool was clean. Kids had a great time and asked to stay on our return trip.
Very nice experience
I was disappointed to find out that HHonors do not honor the points when booked the hotel through your service. I received this email below[...]
I was traveling to North Carolina and decided to split my trip in Knoxville. I chose this hotel because it was pet friendly. I also lived in the Knoxville area previously so I knew the location was close to I40 without the road by the hotel being very busy. It was so nice in the hotel. It was very clean and the staff were so friendly! They were also very accommodating for people traveling with dogs. They even had treats in the lobby. The hot breakfast the hotel provides was also great. All in all it was a great hotel!
bed was amazing, room was spotless, people were super helpful and friendly! slightly outside of the city but it only takes an extra five minutes to get to the city since its so close to the highway...but not so close that all you hear is trucks passing at night.. i will definitely be staying there again!
The Holiday inn express at Strawberry Plains more than met our excectations for a relaxing stay. Hotel staff was extremly friendly and helpful. Fresh cookies were waiting for us on arrival, our room was clean and comfortable, pool was emaculate and the water was warm, breakfast was good.
The Holiday Inn Express in Strawberry Plains TN is close to the Smokey Mts without being in all the commercial areas but close enough to commute and close enough to get to Knoxville for all it has to offer. Nice wine and cheese reception on one Friday a month.
