Our recent hotel stay was significantly underwhelming, particularly concerning the room's preparedness, and the "Harbour View" upgrade.
Upon checking in as two adults and one child (as clearly indicated on our booking), we were provided a room with a king bed and a pull-out couch. However, when preparing for our child's bedtime at 9 PM, we discovered the pull-out couch lacked any bedding, no sheets, no blanket, and no pillows. This necessitated calls to reception and a frustrating wait for maintenance, who initially brought only a sheet, and then, after further delay, the remaining blanket and pillows. We were ultimately left to make the bed ourselves, which is not the hospitality one expects, especially late in the evening with a child. Adding to these basic omissions, the bathroom only provided shampoo, conditioner, and body wash; other standard toiletries were entirely missing, which is an unusual oversight for a hotel.
The "Harbour View" upgrade, costing an additional $59 per night, was similarly disappointing. Our room was a corner unit with only a partial, obstructed view of the water, with another window completely facing another building. This was a stark contrast to other rooms that clearly boasted a much more direct and expansive view of the harbour, making our "upgrade" feel like a waste of money and potentially a standard room mislabeled. This, unfortunately, significantly detracted from our experience.
