The staff was wonderful! The room was clean and functional. The location was excellent. This building is a couple blocks from the Dry Tortuga ferry terminal which worked well for us. That said, this is an older building with character. If you're looking for a spotless new consruction, look elsewhere. For most people I know, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Heron House was adorable. Very nice room; great shower. We are so glad we stayed there. Note: there are two Heron Houses - this one is the Court; the other one is a bit larger.

Bathroom had mold on floor and Shower walls .The sink had a big crack in the bowl and faucet had white and green fungus all over it .the window AC unit didn’t fit in the sleeve . The first room they tried to put me in was worse. The Breakfast was horrible no juices most places put out coffee for guests that are up early, not here. The ice machine was a safety issue,sitting on a thin table in the hallway.

Roman was very helpful, extremely knowledgeable of the area, and egregiously cheerful! The historical feel of the centrally located home is charming. The Heated pool is a bonus! Plus the reasonable rates made it so that we will definitely be staying here again!

Please hire more staff. The same person that runs this place is the one that runs the other Heron House. Nobody was there to check me in when I arrived at around 3:50pm (check started at 3:00pm). I would not come back or recommend this place

The staff was great, but the room needs significant upgrades. Our room needs to be painted, and new fixtures and furniture. The refrigerator is all rusty. The AC never cooled the room. Location was great, but they need to spend some major dollars upgrading the place. The pictures on the website make the place look much nicer than it really is.

The room was in need of an update. On the first night the shower broke and almost flooded the bathroom. The situation was very stressful as there was no one at reception to deal with the matter. After several attempts we managed to speak to the maintenance emergency team. We were moved to another room but were still unable to shower that evening or the next morning. The next day we were moved back to the room with the broken shower. The shower had been repaired but we were asked to be careful with the taps. It felt like we were being blamed. Our credit card was also charged without prior agreement for a resort fee. This was refunded after pointing out that we should have received some sort of compensation for the shower situation.
