I left the place covered in bed bug bites. In fact, am now on antibiotics due to the skin infections I developed from them. I’ll likely be left with a number of scars. Also; be prepared to shepherd the herds of cockroaches out of the bathroom whenever you need to use it. The place was a biohazard; a total dungeon.

Comfortable surroundings One dorm was updated the other dorm was not I was not user-friendly for a cell phones and the like with charging

Better air conditioners, room was stuffy once it was full of people

The overall layout is what I would expect from a hostel, however most provide hand soap for $100 a night, just just a bar that’s been used from who knows when for however many people. 1 bathroom for 10 beds isn’t much, most hostels have a communal bathroom perhaps, but with more shower/ toilet stalls. Location is certainly ideal. We saw ants in our room (18) and I left with bug bites, hoping nothing else. I looked behind bed and blinds and nothing has been cleaned for years. Luckily only spent one night here for my 5 days in Kew West. For $200 a night for two people, this could have been waaaaaaay better.

AC unit in my room sounded like a train right outside. Could not sleep at all.

We were not looking for anything more than a clean room with AC, bed and shower. All was good but the shower part. The shower head and knobs were put together with spare parts. Nothing matched and was cheap. Both show heads showed "cold". Hardly any pressure and about two minutes of warm water. Invest in plumbing!

Only complaint is regarding the loud and rowdy drunks that arrive and hang outside in courtyard around 2:00am...same occured last year. Two strikes...I'm out of here. .

Unfortunately the air conditioning didn’t work well so It was extremely uncomfortable.

We stayed here for one night on our way back up the Keys. It was a decent price and was a decent night sleep. Rating is based on value and not comparing it to some fancy resort hotel. This is a solid choice for a night sleep in the Keys, with a restaurant on location that has good local food options. The view at their little pier is a nice touch.

Near the water front, near southernmost point. Had access to rental bikes.

I know Key West is expensive but I expect much more for these prices. The room was so small the bed was pushed against the wall. The bathroom was so small it only had a kiddie sink two feet off the floor. The room was right on the courtyard with people talking until 1:30am. Fortunately there was a noisy air conditioner to help drown out the noise. Coffee only in the am. No inside door lock.

You are paying for a hostel and you will get that experience. The staff is helpful and the facilities are hostel like. The staff works hard but given the hostel nature of the place they can only do so much. It's a bargain bin type of place so expect as much. You aren't given a ton of room, just a bunk and a small place for you luggage. It is a good 20-25 minute walk from the heart of Duval Street so not as close as the description says but not terrible if you don't mind a walk. Also the bunks could use a shelf to put your stuff, I told the staff that. I had to resort to sticking things under my pillow and being careful not to knock stuff off (I had an upper bunk). I would stay again if need be.

Extremely small, thin walls, tv doesn’t work. Upon check in my reservation was cancelled, I was told I was called the day before and did not receive one phone call.

There is no noise isolation at all in this place! I can't believe I paied 260+ for this motel.

When I check in, I asked about parking. The front desk staff is very in-patient to explain to me on how to find parking spot along the street. Overall, the room is small and not clean.

It was just perfect! Room was clean, neibourhood safe and close to everything we needed.

Close to 5K event...not a 5 star hotel, but wasn't looking for one. Good parking...for my bicycle. It is what it is...stayed here before, came back again.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for your review and for choosing The Sea Shell Motel for your recent vacation. I apologize you did not find the value in our Motel. You could ask anybody from housekeeping/front desk team to give you more soap, towels or any shower/toilet stalls. We are planning to renovate our Motel next year, I hope to see you again.
