Killarney View House B&B

Staff was lovely, only 3 stations on the TV, not much selection of cereals, no fruit or yogurt, house was very cold at times, single glazed windows, they had very small blow heaters in reception, and dining room, it wouldn't heat the dining room, owner not very pleasant,. I could not fault the staff they were very helpful.

The lounge area and views from this hotel are spectacular. Even the breakfast was great with a selection of hot and cold food. However the rooms are a real let down. They are really basic and with the smallest bathroom I’ve ever been in. Everything looks old and dated. The rooms and bathrooms really need a to be refurbished.

It is always difficult to write a bad review as there are people and livelihoods involved. That said, I believe fellow travelers should know the facts. This B&B has so much unrealized potential. The common room is amazing with an unmatched view of the river, a tea service, and a lovely coal fire. The room easily facilitates conversation and making new friends. The staff, particularly Anna, are helpful, considerate and engaging. The rooms... egad. We have traveled the world and stayed in many, many hotels and B&Bs. This one is amongst the worst when discussing the rooms. The decor is dated. The rooms lack maintenance and ours was not cleaned during our stay. Nor did the staff provide clean towels or remove the trash. The windows fogged from the moisture outside. The heater did not work. The entire room looked dirty to the point we did not want to set anything down on the carpet. I could continue but the point has been made. Location is about 1 mile from downtown and the B&B has parking in back. Bottom line - we recommend you look elsewhere until the place is cleaned up. And for the record, we inquired with several other guests who had the same experience and view.

Cute bed and breakfast about 15-20 minute walk to the city center. The room was small and there were lots of fruit flies. The shower in our two twin bed room was a very tiny stand up shower maybe 24"x 24". We didn't spend too much time in the room so it didn't bother us that much. The dining room for breakfast was very nice and the food was good. There is a parking lot at the property so free parking was nice. The people working there were great!

We booked because of the river view but unfortunately no room was available. We spent 3 nights, all very fine, the room was small but comfortable, but not much of a view. The staff were all very helpful with various traveling issues that we encountered. The breakfast is great in a nice spacious room overlooking the river. The facility is quiet except for the occasional loud guest in the hallway. The House is about a 10 minute walk from town centre and close to the park. We recommend it.

This B&B has a great location right beside a river. I love the common areas of the house, very comfortable and tasteful. The outdoor seating is lovely. There is parking available for free. It's a little outside the town (maybe a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk), but it is close to national park and Muckross House. I liked that there was tea/coffee available and cookies in the lounge. It really made it a comfortable place to gather. The breakfast that was included was fine and the staff were very pleasant. The room we had was nothing special, a bit dated and rather small. The bathroom is tiny and right next to the bed with only a sliding door to separate you (that doesn't shut all the way). I feel the bedroom was not the greatest but since we didn't really spend much time in there anyway because we were out exploring most of the day, that was a minor point especially for a one night stay. The rest of the house was rather nice.

Looks nothing like the website!!!! I've backpacked in hostels for years and this actually has to be the worst place I've stayed in!! Sorry but the owners need to invest more in cleaning, modernising the rooms oh and hot water - I was told in the morning that I had to wait for the fire to heat the water before I could take a shower...... Very disappointed

Pros: -Not a far walk from the city center-20mins -pretty view of a river -Breakfast included and was fresh/warm - check in and check out was very simple - nice staff Cons: -The room was seriously outdated - the tv was a 13in box type - the decor and bedding very old -parking - this had more to do with the people staying there and not knowing how to park, not the B & B. - bed was small for two grown adults and very uncomfortable (again updating needed)

We stayed here one night, three people in a "family room". The room we were given was so tiny that we couldn't all move around it at the same time, we had to walk sideways and take turns, and there was a sink literally next to one of the beds. It was absolutely miniscule. The beds were very comfortable though, and the service was good, as was the breakfast. It's only just about making a 3 star rating with the size of that room. If you're travelling with family, make sure you check on the size of the room before accepting it.

We just got back from a 10 day trip to Ireland and highly recommend the Killarney View House where we stayed for 2 nights. We were traveling with our 19 year old son, so rented the apartment which was perfect for us. We had our own comfortable bedrooms, plus a large living room & kitchen. We were able to do laundry which was a big help. The breakfasts were delicious, the staff was friendly & helpful, the house was clean, the beds and bedding comfortable and the location on Muckross road was really convenient. And of course, having a cup of coffee on our private patio overlooking the river was brilliant! I highly recommend.
