Apollo Hotel3.0 out of 5.0

As previous reviews state, The Apollo could do with a revamp. Having said that, it is clean and the staff work hard to make their guests stay as pleasurable. It is VFM, don't expect 5 star but guests are treated like 5 star guests. The breakfast is excellent & your rooms are cleaned by the maid whilst you are eating. The evening meal was decent enough also. The pool is small but adequate, changing rooms are shabby but it's all included in the price, so can't complain. The hotel is built around a lovely courtyard garden with outside pool. Would be lovely in summertime, real suntrap. Nice Italian restaurant also & bar for watching football. Some people are hard to please but this hotel is a bargain. Will defo recommend & return again.
Just stayed here for 4 nights. Room was clean, bathroom was lovely (Think it had not long been upgraded) The breakfast was really nice and lots of choice. Used the pool once but was disappointed that the jacuzzi wasn't working while we were there. The hotel was very quiet but that was our own fault for booking in February. Don't know what people complain about, it's a excellent value budget hotel. If you want 5star luxury then go and pay for it. Would recommend and visit again....but in the summer next time.
The decor is extremely dated and in places tacky. Moths had been at the curtains and it looked like someone had chucked a mug of tea all over the celing at some point in 1979 and it had never been sorted. The water pressure was a joke. Didn't look forward to showering at all because it was such a pathetic trickle. So unsatisfying! On the plus side the breakfast was really good - a decent selection of hot and cold food, along with generous portions of coffee and toast brought to the table.
I booked my two bosses here as they were visiting the Island on business. The hotel, which came across as quite a dodgy kind of place to stay, had rooms that did not lock, the curtains were threadbare with holes in, and the carpet was also threadbare. Would definitely not recommend anyone to stay here, my boss moved out for the rest of her stay rather than stay here as she had not slept a wink worrying that someone would come into the unlocked room! She had put a chair under the handle as some kind of reassurance. Terrible place.
Stayed here for two nights recently. Can't fault the place really. Good value, pleasant helpful staff, good location as well. Found breakfast was very good quality with lots of choices and great service. All round great value plus an indoor and outdoor pool.
Looking a little dated now but offers a relaxed, clean comfortable good location hotel with nice pool and food , this hotel never disappoints and has good car parking and offer many things one twice the price
Stayed for 3 nights. Yes a little dated but very clean and staff friendly and helpful. Very good location just around the corner from main shopping area. Very good breakfast every morning with good variety, freshly cooked and nicely presented. Would definitely recommend it- excellent value for the price we paid.
Very reasonably priced hotel, could use an update on decor but clean with good breakfast and good location. There is a bar downstairs which is cosy and serves food. There wasn’t any entertainment when we were there so we had to go out every night to source our own, (possibly time of year, October) . Hotel has a good sized pool which would be lovely in the summer months.Car parking is at the rear of the hotel. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to all groups of travellers.
The rooms are a little dated but immaculate and clean, the bed comfortable, the reception, bar and restaurant fresh and clean, self service breakfast and friendly staff. My friends and I paid €46 each for a room and breakfast mid December and that knocks the competition out of the window. If I had to criticise there is a little noise in the morning from the street from my front bedroom but this will not stop me from staying here every time I visit Jersey.
We had a family room and a standard room on the second floor. Lets get the bad points out of the way first, my daughters room (213) had to have the door lock changed, top window handle changed and a oil filled radiator put in as normal one had to be shut down because there was thermostat to control it. My room (203) the bath room was new and well done the only problem was the shower, it had no power at all you had to stand almost on the bath plug hole to get under the water, the lamp shades were rusty they were that old. The lift's were very small and no wheel chair access as there are no ramps at the front or back of the hotel. The staff were brilliant (reception & service manager) nothing was too much trouble to sort out. The restaurant was again dated and the chairs were uncomfortable due to age but the food was great, breakfast was also good with all the usual fair, again we found the staff excellent. The grandson's loved the indoor pool, very warm. The pizza restaurant was also great, so over all the hotel seams to be renovating things starting with the bath rooms. We had a pleasant stay and the aged look gave it a pleasant atmosphere the grandson's loved, it's location is fabulous for going into St. Helier and as a budget hotel it's clean staff we found very helpful and good food so what's not to like. Would go back no problem.
