Booked on booking . Com. Clean hotel but needs a spruce up as tired looking in places. Pool in garden which we used. Included breakfast which was good. About 5-10 mins walk into centre of St Helier and restaurants and bars near by. Good place to stay Took a cab from airport but all bus trips in Jersey are only £2 , as we were unsure where it was. Taxi driver gave us lots of information and where to eat, so useful.
A nice hotel. Some of the features are dated, but it has all we needed as a family of 4. The rooms were nice and clean with balconies. The beds were comfy and basic facilities met: hairdryer, tea/coffee making in-room, tv, mirrors, shampoo and shower gel. The part I found was of a higher standard than the facilities was the breakfast. Such a good selection of cereal, toast, tea/coffee to the table, juice, yoghurts, cooked breakfast which was very nice and croissants with plenty of jam and jersey butter. It has parking which we needed and is right by the town. I would happily go back.
This was the second hotel that my husband and I stayed in on our trip to Jersey. We only spent three nights at this hotel but we found it to be pleasant and ok for just a few nights. However, it does need some work and some improvements. As most people have said on here, it needs some updating decor wise! The pool changing rooms were like something from the 60's and need some serious work. The bedrooms were outdated and the TVs are tiny - you may think why do you need a TV on holiday, but when the weather is horrendous & everything is shut by 11pm you need something to keep you entertained! This hotel has no entertainment in the evenings (unlike the other hotel) which is a shame as it would have helped it massively. The walls are very thin and we could hear every conversation from the people next door and above, this doesn't bother me until it's 2am or 6am in the morning! On a good note the food was delicious (breakfast & dinner), breakfast is a buffet and the waitresses were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, other members of staff were not so friendly and some of them spoke very little English (pool cafe, pub, reception desk). As it was a special occasion for us we had asked for special arrangements to be made in the room (that we would have paid extra for) however they "forgot" and when I tried to rearrange this it was completely forgotten about again. Quite disappointing as I felt this would have been a nice touch. All in all, it was a pleasant stay but I'm glad it was only for three nights.
My husband and I spent four nights at the Apollo. It was friendly and welcoming. The staff were excellent, helpful and friendly. Having the pub next door was good. We had dinner there three times which was excellent value for money.
A pleasant establishment, clean and tidy and a short walk to St Helier town centre. Friendly and helpful staff at this hotel that's stuck in a time warp. Reception is welcoming and the decor is towards the art deco style. The rooms are clean but dated lending themselves to the 1960s but without the finishing details which is a little disappointing. I think the rooms could do with being refurbished as I last stayed here in 2007 and almot nothing had changed but as a central base it's a good compromise
Hotel very close to the town centre which is good. The hotel is comfortable albeit a bit dated. Could do with a refurbishment bring it into the 21st century. Could do with some light entertainment in the evenings or even some light music in the bar area.
Can't complain about the breakfast or facilities. Poured with rain on the 1st night which was not the hotel's fault. Room 122 had a hole in the ceiling which resulted in water running down the wall When we reported this at reception, we were advised that "Maintenance would check this out". Water marks were still on wall at 6pm so don't think anyone had looked at it. Don't think staff were all that interested. Would not return to this hotel.
Rude staff in bar and restaurant in particular. Room had huge cracks in walls. No light in bathroom except over sink. Cushions for outdoor seats and loungers all dirty and stained. Food disgusting breakfast especially. Room very hot and only supplied a small desktop fan which is practically useless. Windows slide open rather than proper windows at an angle. Scared to open these as not on ground floor and if you open them to far you could fall out. Unconformable bed, 2 single mattresses pushed together. Rather bemused as to why pool closes at 8pm. I would of thought maybe 10pm especially in the warm weather so people can have a meal and a dip afterwards so long as they are not making loads of noise. Oh and beware of the lift if you need to use it. Quite often it isn't level and if you don't notice it you go flying. If you have mobility problems this is NOT the hotel for you. Decor and access for reduced mobility stuck in the 70's.
Very enjoyable stay. Hotel was clean, comfortable with a spacious bedroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very convenient to town centre and within easy walking distance of bus station and sea front. The breakfast was very good. Hotel may be slightly dated but in a quirky way. No air conditioning in bedroom but fan was provided
Perfectly located in the heart of st helier, main shopping area within a 2 minute walk, harbour around a 10 minute walk, bus stops directly outside the hotel for easy access around the island. Staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming. Common parts of hotel very clean, spacious and well decorated. Restaurant large with a good choice of breakfast and again well staffed. We ate out for dinner but the menus looked good. Great terrace for drinks outside and sunbathing with a small outside pool and slide, and also a heated indoor pool. There is a bar and pizza place attached to the hotel. Rooms are quiet, comfortable, clean but a bit dated (think 70s/80s era) but all in all a great find and I would stay there again.
