The staff here is very friendly. Stayed here on points and they gave me the suite upgrade. We were on the run from Hurricane Irma only to find out the next morning it was now on track to come here. They let me cancel the next night without penalty.

I could not be happier, I just spent 5 weeks at this location and you will not find a cleaner hotel, the staff went out of their way to help, even when the hurricane hit, I will stay here again when Im in the area, Thank You

I've stayed at this location several times. I'd recommend this location for a short or extended stay. The rates are reasonable, it's clean, the staff is friendly, and it's centrally located to beach, shopping, and medical facilities. There are a lot of amenities such as pool, free laundry, gym, and kitchenettes in all rooms. The parking lot is well lit and there's a sense of security for women traveling alone.

We retreated here from Tampa during Hurricane Irma and can't say enough about our positive experience. I called a handful of hotels and they were the only one who said they "may" have availability and would call me back within 30-45 minutes. They followed through and we reserved the last available room. They allowed our family of four to also bring our golden retriever and made us feel comfortable during a stressful time. The lady at the front desk, Lawanda (sp), was a calming presence, was there all 3 days and handled my children and all of the patrons really well. Our family highly recommends Candlewood Suites.

WE stayed for one night. Very good location. Easy to find. and convenient parking. I really liked the black out draperies! We had a late check in. Even though the clerk was sketchy looking... knit cap and possible dreads underneath he was efficient.

Some Hotels just know how to make you feel appreciated. They are few and far between normally but this is one of them. Kudos to Wanda at the front desk. She always seems to be there when you need her and goes out of her way to ask you how your stay is going. This has become a go-to hotel for me when in Jax. They have everything. Patio with grill, appliances/dvds for lending. Well-equipped pantry. You name it. Plus it's convenient to grocery shopping. The place is always clean and tidy. Love it.

The staff professional and welcoming, the room incredibly spacious, clean and comfortable - we slept well, location was excellent, cost was amazing - very, very reasonable, we would definitely stay there again.

We checked in and immediately noticed a strong smell of cleaning fluid in the lobby. Not a real issue since we wouldn't be sleeping there. There was an overwhelming tobacco smell when we exited the elevator on the third floor. Some rooms are marked "no smoking" , but not all of the rooms on the floor were marked that way. It doesn't do much good to allow smoking in some rooms on a floor but not others since the odors move freely under the door gaps. We only stayed here since we had just one night in Jacksonville before heading home. Travelers beware. This place stinks. The hallways are long ashtrays.

We stayed here the night before a recent cruise. We advised the front desk that we would need a late arrival which they said was no problem. When we got there we had to call a number because our key was not left in a lock box. The next morning I received a phone call because the people who entered prior to us took a chair from the business center into their room and after reviewing the security tape, they thought that we were all together. I'm not sure why they thought that. We were going to book our room online, however, my sister is a member of their rewards program and saved a few dollars for the room. But the one thing that wasn't explained, which my sister says she did mention is the fact that the price online was their park and cruise rate and the reduced rate they offered didn't include free parking. They charge $7 per person/per way which would've cost $56, but to park at the port was $60 so we went that route. The room was large and had a kitchen. The beds were soft but the linens had stains on them. The location is near a Burger King and a shopping center. All-in-all, if I had to do it over again, I would not stay here.

Had a blast! Pool was great. Staff are very friendly. Booked on line and had a very easy check in and was given all sorts of information on amenities. Very close to restaurants and groceries. Well stocked pantry and lending library for dvds games and more.
