Great hotel, the staff is very attentive and extremely nice. Julio the server in the buffet was amazing and made this a great experience. Hotel was always clean, would highly recommend staying here.

We love the Grand Azul. This was our fourth visit and it was fantastic!

The hotel is very nice. All of the rooms face the ocean and are spacious and clean. The four restaurants do a good job and are a very nice way to get away from the buffet dining and steam tables. The food at the buffet is of very good quality and selection. The pools are very nice and the service from the staff is excellent in every way. We do have some suggestion though. It would be nice if we didn't have to get up at 4:30 to 5:00 am to put towels on chairs near the pool so we can have chairs. We suggest putting post it notes on the empty chairs and if no one has returned in 30 minutes, remove the belongings to a common area. The is what some hotels and cruise lines do and it works well. Also, it would be nice if more rooms had king beds. Our recent stay was the second in two years. Last year, we had to wait for a few hours after check in time to get a room with a king bed. This year we had to wait two days to get a king bed. Lastly, why are there very few clocks in the hotel? There are none in the rooms, none in the lobby, and none in the restaurants or buffet area. We did appreciate the clocks at the pool bars. Not everyone enjoys wearing a watch while being in the sun or frequently digging in a bag to find a phone or watch to look at. The Azul is a great place. In spite of the lack of clocks and king beds, and getting up early to get a pool chair, we did go back. What they have is great, what they could be is wonderful.

It was a wonderful vacation . Food was great . Mexican restaurant was fantastic. Staff was great.

Newer resort, clean and modern. Great staff, amenities and great entertainment. Evening shows are well choreographed with talented artists. Beautiful infinity pool, beach is small and has many rocks.....

When you book your hotel for a week and you get 2 Queens versus the king that you requested is discouraging. The staff will tell you that they don’t have any other rooms available with one king size bed but of course you could always upgrade for $50 more and get a king-size suite . Bad PR in my eyes if you don’t have a room available upon booking don’t have it advertised. I checked every day to get a king size bed and they kept telling me the same story you can upgrade you can upgrade . If nothing else if you can’t accommodate your guest with a king size bed that you requested I would think they could accommodate you in other ways of discounting your stay !

Awesome time and great friendly people!! Only recommendation is to have the shows start an hour earlier. Most of them start at 9pm, which my kids are tired by then. It'd be nice to start the shows at 8pm. However, they saw 2 shows that were excellent!!!

We had a great time, food at the buffet was ok. Stayed for 5 nights and had such a hard time making dinner reservations to the restaurants. It's either full or Restaurant is close the night we prefer. We ate at the Mexican and Italian and they were both very good. Staff are very nice!

First time to Ixtapa we loved it and definitely come back.

Hotel is extremely nice. Room was spacious with comfortable bed and excellent view. They all have balconies which is great. There are three pools with one for adults, one for primarily kids and activities, and an infinity pool. The hotel would have met all my expectations if they changed a few things. Reservations for the three restaurants took 1 3/4 hours and that is time away from a vacation. Too long. They have no clocks anywhere on the premises. It would be nice to not have to drag a phone everywhere just to know what time of day it is. The buffet is okay with lots of choices, but with steam tables we found the food too often to be cold. We went to town for dinner one evening and also went to the Oyster Bar restaurant and this helped to get away from the buffet quality food. The fresh made omelets were great. The air conditioning in the rooms blows directly on you at night and this caused my wife to catch a cold. I have to say that in spite of this, we had a really relaxing week and would definitely return. The staff is extremely attentive and truly made the week wonderful. Thanks Azul!!

My wife and I stayed for 8 days in room 1825 with a great view of the pool area and ocean. This was our second stay at the hotel. Every room is ocean front and has a large balcony with 2 chairs, small table and chaise lounge. There are 4 restaurants, we tried all of them and the food and service was fantastic. We tried the buffet twice and it does not even compare to the restaurant food and service and we try not to eat there. Definitely have to try the Oyster Bar restaurant right on the ocean for breakfast lunch or dinner. Not every restaurant is open for every meal so make reservations accordingly. The Mexican restaurant was open every day for lunch. There is also buffet food served at the pool until 6 pm. There are 3 bars located near the 3 pools and great service from waiters who will serve you at your lounge chair and prevent dehydration. Lots to do in town ($6 taxi or try the city bus) or in the water. You can purchase excursions with concierge, fishing, snorkeling, ruins, etc. We did 3 of them. We bring $100 a day in pesos for spending money and only spent half of it the entire trip. Bring lots of 20 peso ($1) bills for tips. Will be going back a third time next year.

I had a very relaxing time at this resort. They had great food and staff. I could have laid by the pool all day. There's a ton of daytime activities available but the popular ones fill up fast. Not the best night life but there is a nice lounge with pool tables, ping pong and fuzzball. If you have kids this is an awesome place to stay; they even have daycare.

The hotel was amazing! Very clean and all rooms have a hot tub and an ocean view. The pools are clean and not overcrowded. Will definitely vacation at this hotel again!

This was the first time we stayed in the Grand. It was more than we expected. It was so relaxing and enjoyable. My husband and I truly felt like we were able to leave behind our worries temporarily and just put our feet up and enjoy our time together.

Hotel staff were to dry not quite friendly and there was a $70 MXN pesos for room service. Food was 2 out of 5. No beach everyone looks mad and upset

Hotel was great as was good and service but it really has no beach. We had to take the ferry which was roughly 2.5 dollars to cross to Ixtapa Island which was great! So overall great place to stay with a very close island!

Awesome going back again rooms were fantastic. Views were unbelievable.

king size bed versus two queens.
