If you love historical hotels you will definitely love this hotel , one of the eldest in Istanbul! Has an amazing Ataturk museum which i think is a must ! Also i highly recommed you try their afternoon tea ! The tea room is just wonderful. Room size is not that big but it has a good view. Location is great as well very close to taksim square.

I stayed here before the hotel was remodeled. The floors creaked and one was transported in a different time. This time around I was very impressed with the transformation. They made sure to keep the history of the hotel intact and we are all greeted by the original elevator next to the beautiful chandler. The location of the hotel is unbeatable. It is close to everything, a few minutes walk to Istiklal street if you wish to be serenaded by a lively band while shopping for all sort of goodies. August is Iderim ( sale) month Istiklal offers a multitude of choices for lunch or dinner. We are enjoying the service very much

This hotel is not the only hotel in Istanbul that is located in a historical building but it incorporates the hotel within the original confines of the building, maintains or honors the integrity of the original period in architectural and furnishing details better than any other hotel in town, and yet functions as a highly proficient modern hotel. The rooms are modernized and offer comfortable, efficient luxury without really compromising the sense of the hotel's design period. The staff is warm, helpful and friendly. Built to accommodate the travelers arriving in Istanbul on the Orient Express, it sits on top of a hill in the Beyoglu area of town. In the lobby, you will see a sedan chair used to carry original hotel guests from the station to the hotel. There is also the original wrought iron elevator in which you will be escorted to your room upon your arrival. Your room will have a marble bathroom, and a gorgeous wrought iron terrace which in our case looked out over the Golden Horn — we had rooms 207 and 208. The hotel boasts a gym and a spa, an outdoor bar and restaurant, as well as a dark, and very cozy, large sitting and bar area indoors on the lobby floor. I loved this hotel and appreciated returning back to its restful nature after long days of sightseeing. Part of its charm comes from the fact that it is not in the center of the tourism action, so we took cabs everywhere, the cost of which was a bargain.

....and then, Para Palace! Greta Garbo, Hemingway, Agatha Christy, Ataturk, the Orient Express !The history the beauty and a staff that welcomed us like we were royalty! Thank you Nurten and Ebru! If you're ever in Istanbul DO NOT miss the opportunity to visit and stay at Para Palace!!! Really!!!! A must go to destination!!!!!!

It was my first visit to Istanbul so I've asked friends who visited the city previously - Pera Palace was unanimously recommended. So glad I listened - my stay with my Mom was nothing short of amazing: gorgeous historic building, super attentive staff, great service and a very reasonable (if not low) price. Looking forward to coming back again, will not even look at other hotels. Thank you Pera Palace & its fantastic team!

Not sure why but when we visited in July the actual patisserie was closed, (looked very pretty through the windows) yet we were directed to enter the hotel it is part of to enjoy the same menu ? The hotel is worth visiting in itself as it was where all the passengers of the Orient Express stayed when the train arrived, so a lot of famous guests. Amongst whom was Agatha Christie and apparently you can ask to visit the room she stayed in. There is a small display of artefacts associated with the hotel beyond the lobby. Mostly books written about Istanbul, the hotel and of course the train. Also worth a look is the first lift to have been installed in Turkey and still operational. Food and drink is served in a vast high ceiling room. Everywhere there is something to look at. The hotel is from another high society age and does not appear to have been decorated in any other way since then. Heavy drapes, lots of gilt and heavy looking antique furniture surround you. Even the piped music is pre war. It all makes for an evocative atmosphere though and the cakes were delicious and for the location not overpriced.

What is everyone doing back in Australia? Why are you not here in this extraordinary piece of history at a fraction of the normal prices that are offered today. The charm, history and service are all here. Simply stunning! Istanbul and Turkey is open for business. Everyone is friendly and the locals could not be more helpful.

Beautiful hotel, with lot's of history. Good location, approx. 200 meters from Istiklal street and approx. 650 meters from Istiklal Avenue. 10-15 min walk to Galata Tower. We stayed for 5 nights and would say that for a couple the room is of good size. Breakfast was good. Staff is kind and helpfull. Highly recomended.

Last time I came to Instanbul the Pera Palace under restauration. After 4 years reopend: it is a great building fascinating full of historic and class. I had the great pleasure to eat at restaurant one of my friend played piano a great dinner. Service great I recommend to sophisticated travelers

The hotel is a historic building with modern facilities. The room was big enough with a bed beyond comfortable and a charming view from the balcony. The breakfast options were above expectations and you can order eggs accordingly to your preference. The staff is always welcoming, smiling and helpful. The location is great, walking distance to Istiklal, Galata, Karaköy and if you are a walker you can even reach Sultanahmet in a 40 min walk crossing the Golden Horn through the Galata Bridge. The view to the Golden Horn from the lowest floors is partly obstructed by short buildings on the other side of the street. Although you'll still get nice views of the city. Bare in mind that in rush hour the street can be noisy so you would like to keep your windows shut.
