This is the 1st time staying at the Double Tree Hilton old city after staying at a few different places in the old city. The staff where very warm and welcoming. I requested a Twin room and after checking I found the room to be extremely small and no place for my luggage as well. I complained to the front desk of the room and they immediately showed me a few different rooms as I am Hilton Honors member. They made sure that I find the perfect room and that I was happy. The room that I was given was a new Twin room on the ground floor which was not of a bad size as most of the hotels in the old city have small rooms. The only problem was the access control to the rooms, the room card failed to open the door to room passage way as we where on ground floor. The breakfast was average not too bad not a big spread but decent. The amenities was not much in the room. The provide take away coffee cups in the room instead of glass mugs which I think is a bit cheap. The pillows need to be replaced as they are not too comfy. The front desk staff and well as concierge where really excellent. I remember a few names Ugur, Mustafa and the balance can not remember
Location wise is the best hotel you can have, very secure area even it is in the busiest street still you can have a tranquility you want, all our expectations are met for that i want to compliment Mr. Serkan Duygan for his patience and professionality on our special needs, i should have given a 5 star rate but my only concern as an Hhonors member is they should have given or at least offer a discounted price for the breakfast as other Hilton branches do so but then again we still truly recommend this hotel A++.
This hotel is excellent . Hotel did not disappoint. Location wise it’s close to most of what istanbul has to offer . Grand bazar short walking distance , blue mosque 15 minutes away . All major shopping close by And cafes and restaurants open late .
Near the mosque, good restaurants, good shopping. Amazing hotel, near everything you want to be in Istanbul. Hotel is very safe, love the breakfast, good wine, hotel is very spacious, the internet excellent
I stayed there for 2 days , and the staying was very good . We arrived around 5 pm . Rooms been upgraded to deluxe rooms , we have been offered a free breakfast plus 25% off when using the service on spa . People were too friendly and helpful . Rooms were cozy and clean . The hotel location was amazing and accessible to all the attractions, shopping and restaurants . What I don't like : the employee in this hotel couldn't communicate very well in English except of some of them . The breakfast variety is very limited. Also , the windows need to be double glazed to not get the noise of the street In general I'll go back , and highly recommended
vacation family of 5 stay for one week here. Location is great, staff friendly and helpful. Room a bit small but clean and comfortable. Arrival and Departure ask hotel reserve car for you is the best and easy way. Local train station in front of Hotel. Taxi good and bad here. Don't us it in traffic hour. Some taxi drop us in the middle of traffic didn't want to take us anymore. Uber is not recommend, we wait over 45 minutes driver no show call the driver, he say he is on the way but we watch his car going to different direction here and there but not coming toward us. End up need to pay a fee for cancel the service.
The hotel location is great, it is near to everything you want to see in Istanbul! The staff were very nice and kind and willing to help, The room is very clean and space is good enough, The cookies they offer at check in were very delicious!
Excellent service from check in to check out. Staff are very helpful & friendly, always smile. Room is clean, we love the terrace. Near to Grand Bazaar, shopping area & tram stop. Easy to get food too.
We stayed nights in this hotel from the 25th September until the 3rd October 9 nights, the staff were very nice & extremely helpful, especially Mustafa. The problem at this hotel was noise, not noise from other guests but noise from banging doors, we had no rest or proper sleep with the constant banging of doors. The guests were not banging the doors, the banging was due to the fact that the door mechanisms did not work, it was therefore impossible to close a door quietly. We reported this on the tuesday morning & the manager said that he would have the housekeeping check this out. It was so bad last night that I rang reception at 11:00 p.m., (my husband counted 22 doors banging between 10:40 and 11:00p.m). I was the staff showed me another room & told me that we could move. I looked at the room but realised that there would be no point in moving as the fault is with the doors. The duty manager said that this happens because it's a small hotel, this is not the case, the door mechanisms are either not tight enough or simply do not work. We paid nearly €700:00 euros for our stay, we could not relax (doors banging now as I write this), thank God we leave tomorrow, our holiday was ruined, we were unable to return to our rooms early as it was impossible to unwind, we were constantly on tenter hooks with the constant banging. I could feel the room shaking even with my headphones in & while I was in the shower. Do Not stay here if you want a quiet, peaceful & relaxing environment. The only reprieve from the banging was between 01:00 to 6:30 in the morning. It's interesting that there was no other noise from other rooms we could not hear other guests. I have stayed in several doubletrees & numerous other hotels around the world, I have never encountered this horrendous problem before. I have since found out that there is a room that cleaners & housekeeping constantly use, they are banging this heavy metal door which is 2 doors down. I had to report it to reception again. Reception told the cleaner Hussein & a lot of the banging has stopped, its clear that this was one of the main sources of the banging doors, surely the cleaners must realise that there are customers in the surrounding rooms, either they have not been trained correctly or they are oblivious to their customers. Please avoid all rooms on the 3rd floor especially 339 & 340 unless you want to be kept awake half the night. if you have to stay in this hotel. I foolishly paid for the 9 nights on my arrival. if I had not I would have left & gone to another hotel.
Me and my wife gone from GIZ Afghanistan office side April 2017 for a training. it was really nice hotel with best location in front of sea and to many restaurants, bars and markets are near this hotel. Have very different delicious breakfast for free. But price is so high even though the hotel fee were from office side only for its employment but one of us were not employment so I paid more than $220 more coz of double bed room for 1 week and it was book around 120 Euro per night or less than that. The staff are really helpfull and nice people.
