Very clean hotel, Excellent service too. Breakfast wasn't bad either, had a good variety. Great location to most sights. 5 min walk to Aya Sophia/Sultanahmet mosque/Top Kapi. Restaurants/shops/cafes all close by within walking distance. Ideal for couples, friends & small families as its a small hotel. Wifi was poor, signal would not reach our room which was on the 1st floor.
I stayed at the hotel for two nights in a twin room. Initially I booked it because it was the cheapest option, so I was pleasantly surprised as I wasn't e pectin much. The room decor was simple but really cute. Had heating/AC, it was clean and comfortable. Hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would probably stay here again!
I spent 3 nights in what suppose to be the best room of this hotel & it was unpleasant at all, starting with the heater that didn't work properly in the coldest nights of January!!! There was no bellboy to get my luggage from the car that transported me, the room & its amenities is very old & need to be renovated, the restaurant staff are not helpful at all!! Very noisy though it's near a lot of attractions in the old city, the location is the only good thing about this hotel. I have been visiting Istanbul since 1981, stayed in a lot of hotels but never like Faros Old City!!!
Perfect location - 5 min walks from Sultanahmed, 50 meters from tram station. Quite place, nice and clean rooms. The view from our balcony (401) is something. Room amenities include water and tea. Great service and very helpful and friendly personnel. Just an example: when I asked about scale to weight my luggage the person brought it next to elevator to make my live easier. Highly recommended hotel!
The hotel was cozy and the team was helpful. The location of the hotel is great it's near sultan ahmet mosque and Haya Sofia and you don't need to walk for the tram. The hotel is clean and the restaurant serve delicious food.
+++ location +++ cleanliness +++ very close to tram stations( Sultanahmet & cemberlitas ) +++ close to most important historic attractions +++ many restaurants nearby --- very old small hotel and lobby --- it's not 4 star hotel at all
Hotel very clean and our room was spacious. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful Fantastic location for visiting places such as hajj Sophia, blue mosque, basilica cistern and the grand bazaar. A short taxi ride will also get you to shop in Taskim Square Breakfast was a good variety and very clean. Only downside for us was we made reservations for transfer from airport to hotel... this transfer didn't happen and was left at the airport for over an hour as we were advised to call the hotel if driver wasn't present and we'd have to pay the taxi and also the agreed transfer. Amazing city to visit!
That seems family hotel. Pretty small rooms especially single room. My suggestion is book suite room. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast for this category hotel is good. Places like Sultanakhmet, Grand bazaar are in walking distance. Next to the hotel - Starbucks ) but don't forget to try Turkish coffee as well. Even the hotel on the busy street but inside it's pretty quite and we haven't seen or heard our neighbors ) We had spent three days there.
Look i always stay around either attaturk or Sabiha in hotel and decided to take the plunge- buy myself a Istabullkart and Venture out . there is no doubt this hotel is not one of the chains.....but the staff and extremely friendly- adjacent to FAROS restaurant - now i first came across FAROS restaurant at Taksim close to the Havatas bus station- the food is great and with 20% for hotel guests, you can sit outside and just soak up the atmosphere of Sultanhammet...... and yes you won't get the best nights sleep with the road and the 5am Mosque ..... you will get used to it ........ the transport Links are brilliant - if you coming from the airport or want to head onto Taksim or Fatih .........Look i love Istanbul the people and the food!!! ........now thats another story ........just come and use the FAROS OLD CITY you won't regret it .. And finally the hotel arranged for a Hamam for me in Fatih a 500 year old bath .......Thanks to the staff of the FAROS see you next time in IST it was wonderful
Tonight is our last night and we do not want to leave! Impeccable service in the hotel and restaurant. The staff are welcoming, friendly and thoughtful, and the location is perfect. The rooms are comfortable but fairly basic, however, this is a perfect base for covering the whole of Istanbul. I urge you to come and wish you as wonderful a stay as we have had.
