Checking pictures of the hotel before going there I expected a top level place. I was fairly disappointed in fact. It is more of a mid range hotel (Novotel, Mariott courtyard) and it is not in a very good shape. I had a lot of noise in the room due to the ventilation. All night I was like on an airport ! There is a gym, decently equipped but with pretty old machines. Breakfast however is really good with a nice buffet.
This hotel is very average, people at reception are friendly but outside hotel language is a bring problem as not alot speak english. Bed and breakfast is very limited, wanted orage juice did have it, only water and cherry juice was available. As for my room it was average but worst part theres not even a proper shower in the room, just a cheap hose attachment. Ordered room service requested some tea, took them 30min to give me some tea bags after a second call which the guy was little rude, overall it was an average experiance.
I would recommend this hotel for short business stay. It is not a family hotel. It is not a holiday hotel. It is within a walking distance from Turkey biggest shopping centre. Ten minutes walking distance from an underground station. Reasonable price. Light breakfast.
Clean nice hotel, excellent for business visits. For free wifi, book via booking.com Also check your booking and make sure that breakfast included, otherwise they will charge 16 USD for it. Ask for a room, not facing the motorway which is busy 7/24 Do not expect any panaroma :)
Managed to get a few rooms at last minute for business associates. Ultra modern property in the middle of Sisli, an easy walk to a host of shops and markets. The lobby is city chic, the rooms IKEA like in furnishings and design. The shower only had half a door and the pressure is so strong, the bathroom got very wet. The bed was typical euro firm, the linens great and the breakfast Buffett (included) was superb. The rate was great and may consider Divan City again when in the area.
If you are looking for a place to stay on a reasonable price and relatively easily reachable from the airport, but still close to the business districts - this hotel can be a good choice for you. The restaurant is good and the staff is really helpful.
Excellent pick up arrangements from airport to the hotel. Well received and conformable rooms. Breakfast excellent and location central to my business movement. Was surprised they were charging €12 per day for Wifi usage which to me was unacceptable. I decided not to come there again when in Istanbul until their Wifi is free as in all other hotels.
Our room was large comfortable and one of the best beds ever. Every attention to detail is given. A large shower and a separated bath tub. The spa it the finest one I've ever been to with an indoor pool to die for. The restaurant provided a buffet not to be missed. You could also order from the menu. Staff very attentive and an onsite bar. I would stay there again.
Nothing special and don't feel strongly about it. Here are the cons if you are to consider this place: - Rooms vary greatly so make sure you get what you book. - Even the no smoking rooms can feel and smell like an ashtray. - Rooms facing highway can be very loud. - Pillows are very uncomfortable and low quality. - Carpet and curtains has stains. - Location is dreadful frankly. Nothing at all worth checking out in a walking distance. It's a business area that is soulless and all under construction with very loud noise around the clock. By the end of the day you get what you pay for. It's a pleasant stay if you are here for business and don't care about seeing the city and feeling the charm of Istanbul. Get the job done but doesn't leave an impression.
With a heavy heart I give this review 4 out for 5 as it should have been 5. The hotel has wonderful staff that are very attentive but some people should not be working in front of house. We checked in on the Friday 28th August and we asked for an iron and ironing board to be sent to the room as we had a wedding to go to on the Saturday 29th August. 24 hours later, no iron or ironing board. My wife called reception on the Saturday afternoon about 2pm and the lady on reception was just hopeless and really didn't care. She could not wait to get my wife off the phone. First she said the hotel doesn't have an iron (really) then she said someone else has it, then she said the hotel again doesn't have one. So my wife went downstairs to speak to her to ask if you have one yes or no. Again she was about as helpful as a chocolate teapot. She then called one of the other guys there by the name of Youseff who was extremely helpful. He came to our room and we gave him our garments to iron which he sent off via cab to a dry cleaners. This cost us around 130 lira with tip and we finally relaxed. But we still never worked out if the hotel did or didn't have an iron. We went out and when we came back 2 hours later we saw a hotel staff member walking out of the lift with an iron in their hand which confirmed they do have one. But to top it off, when we came into the room not only were our garments ironed and hanging up but an ironing board and iron were there also!! So we spent the money for no reason and found that the hotel has more than one iron. How can this all be so difficult?! If I had to summarise, this is a good hotel but your reception is the face of your whole hotel. If you don't put the right people at front of house it simply ruins all the hard work all the other staff are doing. The rest of the guys here are excellent at customer service but as my title states there's always one who can ruin it for everyone.
