Extended stop over in old city.

I extended a stop over by 3 days to see the city of Istanbul. I took a taxi from the airport to the hotel for 50 Lira. Going back I used the tram and train system at a cost of less that 8 Lira. Food was half the cost on Uskadur side of Istanbul and the ferry ride there was worth the effort alone. Do not be afraid to explore the area and try new things. The hotel is well managed and staff is very friendly. the location is great for sightseeing and streets are safe at night in that area.

Great location and good place to say

Superb location for the sights of Sultanahmet. If you want a good value small family hotel this is a great place. All the sights, restaurant's and feel of this area of Istanbul, fabulous view from the breakfast room.

They could accept erarly check in at 9:00 am!! Staff was very friendly and I could feel hospitality service. The place was closed to bule mosce. It was very continence to go out to eat and sightseeing. But the shower room was a little bit stuffy. But everyday they tidy up there. When I asked to print out my bordingpass,they did! They are very kind.

Our stay at Cem Sultan hotel was very pleasant. It is located right behind Blue Mosque. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Quiet, clean, two blocks from blue mosque

Great value for the money!! The staff was always very friendly and helpful. My room although small was very clean and well furnished with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was clean and properly working. The best value for the location, amenities and cleanliness.

Nice hotel close to tourist destinations

I travelled from England and received a very warm welcome from staff at the hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious. There are tea/coffee facilities and a lounge where you can relax with other guests. There is a variety of breakfast to choose from and the cook Rehan is very kind. Norshad, Seyful and Nadir are also very nice and happy to help. I would recommend staying here as it is cheap and you get a very good experience overall, as I did :)

Central but VERY basic

The bed was comfortable and the staff very friendly. However, I would not return. The room is very small. No outside window. Forced and very noisy ac in bad. And either a room with strong perfumed air freshener to mask the moldy smells from the bathroom, or if no air freshener the snell of mold and toilet stench. I tried both.

Still nice hotel in this area

I had stayed this neighborhood for several time, comparing others, Cem Sultan is no sewage problem, price is cheaper, location is good, however, no elevator(can ask front desk to carry luggage to the room), breakfast is too simple no roof view for Blue Mosque or Hagia Sophia.

great location, right near Sultanahmet Square, and nice terrace view during breakfast. but the rest categories are quite below mediocre. very old/clunky and uncomfortable hotel and room conditions. does the job but not enjoyable stay at all.

Definitely worth the money

For the price, you can't beat this place. Great location, big room with pretty luxurious bedding and draperies. It was definitely a lot more than I expected for the price, and I was VERY happy with the choice. The only complaint I have is that the site says there are in-room safes (I brought my computer due to its saying this), but there was no in-room safe to be found. No problem, I carried my computer around town with me; still, I thought it was worth mentioning for those who have a similar decision to make.

Fine stay for family with young kids in Dec 2014

Office and staff were excellent for info and guidance. Location is excellent. Breakfast was mediocre . Toilet did not work after first flush... miscommunication among staff led to them now fixing it and although we mentioned it, no one came to fix it... perhaps X-mas holiday . Used bucket of water to flush and it worked on that way. View from window of the Sea of Marmara and Kadakoy was excellent. Overall 8 of 10 .
