Skeabost Hotel

Newly remodeled hotel.

It was so nice to stay in a newly remodeled hotel, especially after staying in nicer yet oldee ones. Beds was very comfortable with high quality bedding. Dinner was delicious. We sat in the atrium which has lovely views and enjoyed an after dinner drink in the lounge. A wonderful stay.

Kings Arms Hotel

Great quiet location

Hotel is in need of overall updating. Food was very good at restaurant for dinner. Breakfast was usual plentiful English breakfast. They offered haggis as a choice which was a nice Scottish touch. The view overlooking the bridge and boats in the water were tranquil and added to a peaceful retreat. The location on Skye was perfect for us but not a busy nightlife if you want more of that go to Portree maybe. Enjoyed walking around the village. Except for poor check in experience would recommend.

Thistles on Skye

Perfection

Fantastic B&B! The room was spacious and bright with beautiful linens and decor, including wonderful pieces of art from local artists. The view from our room was breathtaking. We did not want to leave! Cannot forget Isla the cocker spaniel puppy! Absolutely adorable and extremely well behaved. David and Francis are warm and welcoming. Breakfast was amazing. They have done an amazing job here. Absolute perfection. We plan on returning to Scotland in the future and hope we will have the opportunity to stay again.

Tullochard House B&B

Needlepoint Galore!

I was with my new husband on our honeymoon when we pulled in to Dunvegan to check into our home for the next 2 days. Tullochard House is the most adorable B&B I've ever set foot in. The lady of the house, Kate, needlepoints. You will see her handiwork EVERYWHERE. On the doors, at the breakfast table, in the bathrooms... she needlepointed the safety warning in each room. It's painfully cute. Kate herself is a fountain of wonderful local information- she has a map she created that directs you to all the touristy spots of Skye, and then some less-touristy ones if you'd like to see Skye the way the locals do. Her breakfast was my favorite on the 2 week trip, and to top it all off, the bed was ALSO the softest I'd had in those 2 weeks. It's minutes away from Dunvegan Castle and there are several eateries very close by- we walked to dinner. Get a reservation for The Old School, but don't miss the Waterside Bistro down the road a little further. It's connected to a gas station, but as Kate will tell you, don't let that fool you. Check out the Skye Weavers while you're there- they let you run their pedal loom if you're nice! ;) Look up George Macpherson as well (make an appointment beforehand) if you want to spend a minimum of an hour being completely enchanted by Scottish storytelling. When I make my way back to Skye, I will refuse to stay anywhere else.
