Secrets Huatulco Resort & Spa - All Inclusive

4.5 out of 5.0

Excellent customer service. Love that everything is all inclusive. Some of the restaurant portions can be small but you can keep ordering til you get full. Pool drinks were weak so I suggest people go to sky bar or the restaurants. Only problem is that during offpeak season, many of the restaurants are closed for lunch and you have to either eat at the snack bar by the beach or take the gold cart to another restaurant.

The hotel was great. The staff was awesome. The food was good. I have had better food at other Secrets hotels. The ambiance in the restaurants could be better. The beach is nice. The sand is a little course, but you can walk on it with bare feet with little problems except when it gets really hot. The ocean is a little rough, but to the very left you can swim. The last 3 days of our vacation, the beach area was closed due to groundswells. The pools are very nice as well. The weather was perfect. It only rained one evening during our 9 night stay. Huatulco felt very safe. It is less commercialized than other Mexico beach resort destinations and the US dollar is not accepted everywhere. Overall, it was a great vacation!

Check in wasn't great, gave us a double we had reserved a king, then some other guy is trying to sell us something. The next day they moved us into a king, then the AC quit working. Had to move rooms a second time, but they did put us into an upgraded room that time. Staff tried to do there best but sometimes they fell short. Food was overall good but somewhat inconsistent.

This hotel was flawless, the food beach, staff everything was amazing.

Overal stay was OK, nothing special nor extraordinary. Food was below average (2), service and courtesy was average (3), minibar offerings significantly below average (1), internet connectivity poor (2), room average (3), food and service at the japanese/chinese restaurant significantly below average (1), service at the beach poor (2)

the grounds are beautiful and spotless. the staff is there to please and they do from the pool staff to the waitstaff.Drinks should be better. The mixes they use have an after taste. the house wine was nice. the beach seating needs a better system. My husband plus many other husbands would get up between4:30 and 6:00 am to save a seat on the beach. The food was generally pretty good but each of the restaurants menus haven't changed in the last 2 years that we have been there. we will try another resort next year.

El hotel Secrets en Huatulco es una excelente opción para parejas que quieran disfrutar de unas vacaciones relajadas. Con gusto volvería.

Great room, great food and drinks, and a great staff...need I say more? (no)

Huatulco is a remote location, and if you're looking for a hotel away from the hustle and bustle, it's for you. In comparison to Cancun trips, this hotel and its atmosphere were very welcoming to couples. It wasn't busy during our late April stay, and even though it was the dry season, the hotel landscape was well taken care of. Room and hotel cleanliness were immaculate. The hotel offered tons of entertainment and activities to keep you as busy as you wanted to be. Staff was very nice and helpful. My only issue with the resort was the food and drink. I know it's all inclusive but the food and drink were rather standard. Portions were small and the drinks were weak. The liquor selection was worse than the neighborhood dive bar, frequently running out of their "best whiskey," Jack Daniels. Also it was very difficult to get bottled water from many of the bars/restaurants, and many of them simply had run out. Wait times for food and drink were longer than expected. Also, of note, although it’s Mexico and digestive issues are typical for visitors, 4 out of 10 people in our group had varying degrees of digestive sickness. Overall I would say this resort is very nice but feel like they just missed some of the basics, and it makes me question if I would return.

We traveled in the beginning of March 2013. It was Very hot ( 95-100 degrees F) everyday. The views are amazing! The only bad thing I have to say is that our bed was VERY hard and uncomfortable and the nightly entertainment was started at 9:30 at night. Thats too late for us! After spending the day in the sun, by 9:30 you are exhausted. The entertainment during the day was lacking. Everyday they played Bingo at the pool bar, but it was more about taking shots of tequila than it was about playing Bingo. With all that said, we did enjoy ourselves and got a lot of relaxing done.

OK BUT EXPECTED BETTER. FOOD WAS A DISAPPOINTMENT.

We just got back from a week at the Secrets Huatulco resort. The resort is very beautiful and very clean, but definately a low-budget show!!! Entertainment was not so good, "singers" lipsynced to the music. :( There were never enough umbrellas near the pools, plus the bases for the umbrellas were too big so in the afternoon when the breezes kicked up the umbrellas flew around. Also, half of the cranks on the umbrellas were broken, they held them open by sticking a nail into the ribs to hold them open!!! The pools were not all that clean either. Half the time the pools filters were not running. Actually saw 5 baby crabs on the bottom of the pool!! Not sure how they got there?? Service was slow and the food was not the same quality of other Secrets that we have visited. But the drinks were great!! We did have a wonderful time inspite of the issues above, but will not go back.

Really enjoyed our stay. Top notch, very comfortable and spotless. Staff was beyond excellent.

Secrets Huatulco was awesome! The room, staff, and food were excellent. Even though its a bit far to travel, it was worth every bit of it. A beautiful place to relax, rest, and heal. My favorite thing was the hanging futon on the beach...swinging and watching the waves crash upon the beach. It was my very best vacation ever!!!
