Stayed after hiking at table rock Mountain. Below average place to stay. Hotel shows its age. Visible plumbing under sink. Old yellow paint on textured walls. No towel racks in bathroom yet they ask that guests use their towels for multiple days to save water. Pool area average/below average, I think they tried to heat the room and pool warmer but everyone was shivering and swim was short. Staff were friendly for most part. Helped lower rate on my stay since kids were 3 and under, and I never had to ask. AAA discount as well. Had to ask for towels at pool, extra trash can liners, sheets and blankets for pull out bed (none in room). Very satisfied with breakfast. Good selection. Kids and family were happy. Room had fridge, microwave, and kitchen sink which was nice to have. Bed was comfortable and slept well. Would not recommend as the cost is a little high for the quality but if in a bind its not the worst place to stay.
I was disappointed in this Comfort Inn. Overall, an older building or if it's not- it has had a lot of "wear and tear" and really needs some serious attention compared to newer Comfort Inns or Hampton Inns, other hotels in this price range.
I was turned away by another hotel while evacuating from Hurricane Irma because I was traveling with my small dog. I had been driving for 13 hours. They not only had a room, but asked if I was evacuating and offered me a special rate. And then said they are waiving the pet fee!!!! I had a good nights sleep and woke up ready to complete my journey. The breakfast was a total bonus! Thank you for your kindness during a very stressful time.
after experiencing a change in plans, we called direct to the motel by phone at about 1:00 am deciding we needed to stop there when we arrived in Morganton around 2:00 am. they had one room left of the type we needed and it was a nice experience. beds were comfortable, air good, fridge good, and the gal at the desk was nice and helpful enough for our middle of the night arrival. things were quiet for the rest of the night and breakfast was good. we would stay there again.
Booked online at choicehotels and thought we were booking a Comfort Inn & suites. The big red sign Comfort Inn and Suites. This is just a plain Comfort Inn, despite what the sign says. The place has had some work performed but it was done rather poorly and on the cheap. Staff was friendly enough and helpful. There used to be a hot tub but it was filled in but the controls for it were still on the wall. Ventilation grilles in the pool area were falling off or missing, and it looked like they recently painted the pool area but it was a multitude of different shades of blue. Rooms looked refurbished but closer inspection, again things were done on the cheap. Plumbing was exposed, sink counters were too short. It was like they put in whatever vanities were on sale at the time. You can put make up and a dress on a pig but it is still a pig is about all I can say.
My boss booked this room for me for a business trip (Mastercam training) and he is going to get an ear full when I get back. First and foremost this place is a dump. You pay $130 a night to stay here. This is barely a $70 a night room. I've stayed at better places for $50 a night. I observed many and I mean MANY places in the joint that was flat torn up. The hallway carpets are about 10 years past their life. Numerous places in the wall for some reason have been poorly repaired and it really shows. The room.....don't get me started. My room was BEAT UP. Only thing good about my room was I had clean linens. The chairs were worn worse than the carpet and the cabinets were all beat up. The shower curtain had a few stains and the shower head was in serious need of a replacement. Every time somebody shut a door near my room, my door would shake and make me think somebody was knocking on it. This woke me up numerous times during the night which ticked me off pretty good. The morning I checked out I seen a beer bottle and a used needle in the bushes by my car. Probably happened the night before so this kind of tells you what kind of town it is. Take my advice Comfort Inn.....REMODEL THIS DUMP. Then it may be worth 130 a night. Only good thing about the place was they had bacon for breakfast and lemonade during the day. Otherwise I won't be staying here anymore. Pay a few extra dollars to go to the hampton inn or days Inn and you'll probably walk away from those places disease free.
We stay here ever year on our annual trip back form Myrtle Beach to visit family in Morganton. It s so nice now that remodel is complete. Beds are comfortable and décor is very nice. Only complaint this stay was we had the King Suite next to the elevator on the 3rd floor. We could hear every person entering and leaving elevator all night long along with the "bell" for when the elevator door was open. We would not recommend the room beside the elevator for this reason. We will be returning once again next year, but requesting to not have this room.
Stayed here while working on a project nearby. Friendly staff, well appointed rooms and very good breakfast buffet. Will stay again when in the area.My only complaint is you have to show up at front desk to check out. No auto check out with bill under your door, On last day I want to be out of the hotel and on the way home.
I've stayed there plenty of times with no problems. Like most of the staff and hotel itself. It is pet friendly but didn't pay it much mind untill my last short stay. At first the tiny red spots I thought could be from the towels or who knows. But they seemed to grow. The ones on my back look like I got shot with buck shot and were sore. I went from there to my sunny vacation but had to deal with the sores which are finally going away. Bottom line is I stayed on the 3rd floor. And where do they allow pets? 3rd floor. When told about my issue they weren't to concerned and said someone else stayed there after me with no problems. Yeah because they were full of me! Bottom line if you stay there just don't stay on the 3rd floor.
We had a great week! The rooms were well kept, thanks to a staff who sees to every need and does it cordially. The beds were so comfortable! There was plenty of room. The breakfasts were more than sufficient. We will stay again!
