At first, thanks to all the staff for their friendly and kind attitude during our vocation. I rested with my son and friend. Absolutelly fell in love with Greece and Crete (although the geography of my trip is quite extensive before this visit). Of the pluses-excellent location (quietly, but close to a huge supermarket-2 minutes, the sea-5 minutes, the central street-3 minutes); very friendly and responsive staff starting from the moment check-in and ending with household issues in the process of living in the hotel; Good food (quite varied and tasty. It was especially important for me because I was resting with a small child.) Of the minuses - poor cleaning of the rooms. I can not say that it spoiled my vacation very much, but as a recommendation for improving the service, I would like it to be given more attention. And in general, thanks for the wonderful 10 days. Crete is one love:*
I was very kindly surprised about that hotel where I spend one week of holidays with 2 friends. We looked for the cheapest hotel, because we wanted to travel a lot, so this hotel was perfect for us! Very good situated, supermarket at 5 min, bus stop next to it, lots of shops, excursions selling points. Breakfast very simple, but where is a choice for everyone. Cleaning room every day and changing towels, very kindly service for breakfast, nice and very helpful people at the reception! Very nice staff, extremely helpful and friendly. Treated my son's cut excellently and better than NHS would. Quiet room, cleaned every day. Nice swimming pool. 5 minutes to the beach. My children can't wait to go to Agrabella again :)
We booked for three weeks, the fifth time in Crete but the first time to Herisonnos and the Agrabella Hotel. We understand the hotel had a less than favourable reputation before being taken over by the current family run owners that are working bloody hard to turn this around. We could not give a more glowing review for the reception staff, bar, restaurant and cleaning staff. Many of which double up thier jobs to make our stay more pleasurable. We decided to upgrade our room before we went to take advantage of the air conditioning, fridge, wifi etc etc. all the details of what every room offers is clearly on thier website. We knew exactly what to expect. The rooms were cleaned daily apart from Sunday's, although the bins and towels were changed everyday, without exception. Didn't need it every day, but it was done anyway. In particular, we have to mention Marie and Alex from the bar/reception team. Such warm, beautiful people where nothing is too much. If only we could take them home with us??! The food was a tad same for breakfast and lunch, but you show me an all inclusive meal package that isn't! Evening meals varied from a variety of fish, lamb, beef, pork, salads, pastas and bolognaise dishes, so you never needed to eat the same thing twice. I was surprised to see liver on the menu too! A nice surprise. The pool was a lovely temperature, good for a swim, not Olympic size, but who needs that? Pool beds were plenty, although sometimes you'd have to wait for the sun to come over in the afternoon on some beds. The location of the hotel was just off from central town, perfect! We could walk down to town, get the fill of the hustle and bustle of the larger town, or stick to the side streets for a relaxing coffee and lunch. The beach was admittedly short, although very long. Depending on the moon, depends how much beach you get. It's predominately shingle or rock, although if you walk far enough you get sand. The water was perfectly clear all over. Every coast bar had seating areas over looking the sea where you can kick back and chill right out. In summary: The hotel is fab, we would definitely go back there. Check their website and don't moan when all the info is available to you before had. We even check to stay another week on top of the three already stayed and were gutted they couldn't accommodate cause fully booked! They are under new family ownership, and they are all brilliant Hope to return xx
It was terribly noisy. We could not sleep almost all of our vacation. The conditions in the hotel are not very good in general. Everything is very old and barely working. The food at the restaurant was not very good.
We had a great 10 days in your lovely hotel. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. The pool was lovely and well appointed with Sun beds and the bar was reasonably priced. Although we only had a basic room our shower was brand new and everywhere had lovely new tiling in the en-suite. The breakfasts were always busy but the staff constantly replenished any missing items with a wide selection of cooked food, cereals and fresh fruit.
I was there for a week. Food variety is very low and not good. If you want air condition you need to pay 50 euro Fridge costs 15 euro Wifi costs 2 euro per 1/2 hour Dinner is not good and if you want glass of water the staff direct you to the bar to buy a glass of water that costs 50 cents. Service room is horrible and they do not clean. They give only one key for the room. the hotel is very poor and cheap and i don't recommend this hotel because everything that they call "extra" like air condition costs money. All is about money and they don't know to give service to costumers. I will not go there again.
At first its not the staff the management or others who decide how your vacation turns out. Its your OWN. The people who worked there when i was there where very lovely. And i was not the only one thinking this. There where Russians, Palestinians and we all enjoyed our stay. The thing is you know it has 3 stars so dont exept a service from 5 stars. For me as a yough guy i had everything i needed the food was good enough for me plus my room was always cleaned as it suposed to.
We will never recommend this hotel. Our holidays were completely ruined because of Agrabella hotel. The biggest problem, in my view, is the hotel management and staff. I have never met such rude, not interested in tourists, greedy people. I got the impression that the hotel management simply hates the tourists. Changing a hotel room is simply impossible. The hotel management asks all tourists come in a few days in order to try to change a room despite the fact that the hotel had a room available! Cleaners of the hotel rooms are also working in the dining room!!! The hotel staff do not have a special uniform and hats, even in the dining room: they shake the hair just above the food! The food is just awful. During our 10 days of holiday, we have never seen any whole fruits and whole pieces of cheese! In the dining room you can find only dirty plastic fruits. At breakfast they even do not have butter! All the food is monotonous and greasy. For a dessert the is almost only ice-cream and you can take it only during first 30 minutes of dinner, otherwise they will never bring an additional ice-cream. We stopped to visit the dining room after two days of holidays. The rooms are very modest and even poor, with old furniture and a dirty bathroom. Cleaning in the room is very bad. The bathroom has only one piece of a soap. The hotel is very noisy!!! You can not sleep even with the closed windows. The hotel is trying to make money from absolutely everything: they charge for water, air conditioning. Free wi-fi you cannot find even at the reception. I just read other comments about the hotel and what is more interesting - the answers of the hotel management. The best anti-advertisment of this hotel is answers of the hotel management on this website. The answers of the hotel management to the tourists feedbacks are full of anger, impoliteness and hatred against tourists. This is so unprofessional!!! The hotel is a place for having a rest it is not a prison. If a hotel management doesn't like the tourists, they should not to work in tourism. Why tourists have to suffer from hotel management's behaviour and attitude to life? If the hotel management will not change their attitude towards tourists and will not improve the quality of service, I think, they will loose soon all good tourists. I just regret that I didn't read all tourist feedbacks (especially critical) before my holidays. They are absolutely true. To sum up, it was our worst holidays. We expected much more from Greece.
good location, nice hotel, delicious visit. while visiting Crete, climb Samaria gorge, visit Preveli beach and monastery, take a boat trip, enjoy the sun and Elafonisi beach, meet some mountain goats :).
