Services; at front desk was pleasant and same standard as usual at Holiday Inn and had short queue at our morning arrival time. No issues that we noted at front desk service. Room; was what we expected, bed for two could move to be separate ones. Our room was at 4th floor window was facing towards street. In bathroom there is a bath tub - shower. Cleaning is done ok. Sound isolation is good; no noise was heard from surrounding rooms, corridor and outside. Feeling is that rooms would need some refreshing update; personally I would say that Scandinavian brightness would do good as style wise. Breakfast was again best at this hotel; there were free tables available when we arrived. Breakfast is buffet style; there is lots of choices available (cold cuts, warm choices, bred etc.). Breakfast is excellent in this hotel! Travelled with my wife, our room was for two persons.
The hotel is perfectly situated in a walking distance from Hartwall Arena. The room was spacious enough although a bit outdated. The bathroom desperately needs updating. The room was quiet (on 8th floor), the bed was comfy. Breakfast was ok, there’s plenty to choose from. Parking underground was expensive, 26e per night. For the next concert at Hartwall Arena I will definitely choose this hotel, for other reasons I’d probably choose some other hotel in Helsinki city centre.
We were there for a big convention, so staying at the convention centre hotel made a lot of sense. The room was excellent, clean, pleasant, and the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. (And I'm very fussy about beds.) This was soft and springy, but supportive. The breakfasts were delightful. I expected continental breakfasts, but there was all that and more. Smoked salmon, cheeses, fruit, continental meats and all the usual cereals, yoghurts etc, plus hot breakfast which included American bacon, continental sausages, scrambled eggs or boiled eggs (4 minutes or seven minutes). They would do fried eggs to order. Juices, teas, coffees. The dining room was big enough to accommodate convention-goers all truning up at the same time.
I have only stayed there for one night during an event in the nearby convention center, but I loved every minute of it. The room was spacious and clean, it had everything I needed and more. They even suggested to provide the essential toiletries free of charge had I forgotten to bring some. There's also a kettle and some complimentary coffee and tea in the room. The views may not be that great, but that is what you expect in the part of the city it is located in. But it has great communication, as there are tram and train stations nearby that can basically take you anywhere. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was great. Would definitely recommend, especially if you are coming to the convention center, which is basically a few meters away from the hotel.
Was what I was told by the pleasant young trainee at reception after a sleepless night in a freezing cold Executive room on the 9th floor. Apparently only the bathroom floors are heated, so if I want a reasonable nights sleep I should wrap up in my fluffy bathrobe and sleep in there?? This is frankly shocking in an otherwise perfectly serviceable hotel. If the management wants me to stay another night or perhaps even return one day, some dramatic improvements will be necessary.
The hotel is in a great position if you are attending an event at the convention centre. They are connected internally on two levels. It's also much closer to Pasila Station than you might think. If you are arriving by train, use the northern exit from the station, not the main southern exit. Go down the ramp from the platform and you are right across from the end of the street, about 200m away from the hotel. Our room was on the top floor. As IHG platinum members, we received water and a chocolate bar for free each day from the mini-bar, as well as the usual tea, coffee and honey. There is plenty of bread available locally from the many little supermarkets for a honey sandwich snack. A warning that most of the supermarkets nearby close about 8pm, but there's one over the far side of the station, Alepa Pasilanraitio, that's open until 11pm. Everything in our room worked fine and the staff were all friendly and helpful. However, housekeeping was a shambles. We were there for 5 days and they randomly took away bath mat, hand towels or bath towels and simply failed to replace them. (... until we asked, of course.) The tea and coffee was similar. You never knew whether they would replenish tea, coffee, honey, water or the chocolate bar. Most often, they just didn't unless we asked. Luckily, we usually stopped back at the room during the afternoon and could check and ask for all the missing things, but if you were away all day and getting back at night it would be really annoying.
Attached to the convention center, this is the place to stay when you’re here for an event. Rooms are clean. Staff is friendly and English is well-spoken. 2nd floor sauna is large, clean and well maintained...single sex, separate sauna areas. A city block from the Pasila Train station and trans run in front of the hotel too. One stop from Pasila to the main Helsinki/Helsingfors Station which is nearer where the action is.
Quite modest, but clean rooms. Staff was very helpful. Easy arrival. Very transportations possiblities from Pasila station to different directions. Also Hartwall Arena is about five to ten minutes away.
This is a standard Holiday Inn hotel. It's clean, comfortable and in a relatively central location. It seems to be better located for the business areas of town, rather than tourist areas. However, Helsinki's a small city so it's easy to get around. I didn't have breakfast here or use the facilities so can't really comment on those.
