The Soco Hotel - All Inclusive - Adults Only

This hotel had exactly what my wife and I needed. It was a small, intimate, setting. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and I would definitely stay there again.

This place is literally a little gem located right on the beach! Super cute hotel, good location (on the boardwalk too), and the sea is lovely. I didn't meet one staff member that didn't want to go above and beyond for us during our stay. The only thing that was mediocre was the food. Limited daily options and it could be better. Don't let that deter you from choosing this place though!

The service was amazing! Very accommodating. Being a Vegan, Michelle the concierge made sure to make my eating experience the best possible. She went above and beyond her responsibilities. I had options, through-out my stay.

The hotel staff are awesome and they really helped you get the best out of Barbados!

The Soco hotel is a boutique " all inclusive ". All inclusive in my opinion should be changed to " with standard meals". The restaurants food was pretty good however the menu didn't change at all during our 4 day stay. Be aware that if you do not eat during breakfast, lunch, or dinner hours then there is literally nothing to eat. There is no snacks or food stand that opens during off hours. When you arrive in your room, which is actually pretty nice, there is no bottled water/soda/chips/chocolate or any other standard all inclusive items you normally would receive. All of this must be purchased and no store on sight ( short 6 blocks away ). The all inclusive bar charges for bottled water and does not have any half decent alcohol. Most of the staff were very nice however me and my fiancé found the service to be lacking. With only a handful of guests, someone should come to the very small beach area and offer drinks ( did not happen once ). The Soco beach access is directly next to a public entrance and is definitely not a private beach. We had a 20 person kids birthday party our first day on the beach so calling the beach Adults Only would not be accurate. The boardwalk is very nice and starts at the hotel. Hastings is definitely underdeveloped and wasn't much to do on the walk. The beaches at the far end of the boardwalk were actually much more stunning ( blue water and no rocks ). We had zero seaweed issues which was a concern. This is a place to relax and be left alone.

It was great and awesome time, every room with ocean view, friendly staff: greatings to Michelle and Tamy. Chef at Gazebo Restaurant is excellent: tuna, sirloin steak, pastas were great and very tasty. Cocktails at the pool bar excellent too. We spend ten nights and felt like at home: friendly, staff take care about us all the time. Chairs and umbrella are included, but remember all beaches are public, young adolescents can be tedious and unpleasant, especially for single women left unattended for a moment.

Perfect location, every room has an ocean view, the pool is small but it's fine since there aren't many guests staying with only 24 rooms (when I say small I mean you're not going to be doing laps, but its perfect sized for hanging out in and cooling off). The beach is nice because there aren't many waves and there's a little area blocked by rocks so you have a little tide pool. The food was great, the drinks were great, the staff was so welcoming and friendly. The rooms are big enough, plus there's a little couch in the room too. Some things needed updating (our bathroom door didn't lock, the shower knob was broken so a few times there was some panic that the water wouldn't turn off, and there was makeup spilled on the sink from the last guest) but all in all that was no big deal. It's a walk up, so be prepared to get your leg workout in. Overall, loved it and would definitely go back!

The staff was great. I had the chance to get to know them personally during my 5 day stay and I miss them. I wish them the best of luck! My only suggestion is to freshen up the paint outside of the balcony.

The hotel is great, staffs are wonderful, peaceful, great food, everything was excellent

We live in Barbados and had decided on a quick staycation choosing Soco as one of many options. Sadly, there was a mess up at check in, so we waited by the pool for 2 hours before we got our rooms, but we were upgraded for our wait. Nice gesture. It wasn’t really that tough to hang out at the pool as we had drinks and watched the waves. Once settled in, we discovered a very enjoyable little boutique hotel with lots of good meals and attentive staff.

Friendly staff...great, comfortable room with up to date features looking out at the ocean...hard to beat that! Food wad better than I expected for a place where it is included...it was sit down, not buffet...which was nice.

Our experience at the Soco Hotel yields drastically mixed reviews. My boyfriend chose to celebrate a milestone birthday at this hotel. I called 2 weeks in advance to make surprise reservations for flowers and champagne to be in our room upon our arrival. When we arrived, we were NOT greeted warmly. Because we were 2 hours early for check-in, the hotel receptionist kindly informed us we could NOT eat lunch there because we "did not purchase the lunch package" (at an all-inclusive resort). Needless to say, the flowers and champagne were NOT there either. After much frustration, we decided to go to the bar and wait. If it was not for the hospitable BAR STAFF- SHANNAH & MELISSA, we would have left!! They offered directions and suggestions for nearby restaurants (unlike the front-desk receptionist. This is why our reviews are mixed. The facility and beach views are beautiful. The BAR STAFF and maintenance guy were amazing. The food was exceptional!! Yet, the first-impression greeting from the receptionist and lack of consideration from the hotel administration, will not allow us to stay here again.

On a positive note, the location of this hotel is superb. All rooms have gorgeous ocean views. The negatives - the food was extremely greasy & only available at certain times. No snacks or room service available at the time of your choice. There is only tap water to drink as far as water goes. We asked for bottled water & they said it would cost $5. The better items on the menu such as lobster & steak cost an additional US $60, which is extremely pricey considering the exchange rate. When we mentioned this, their explanation was that lobster was rare & hard to get on the island. The pool is extremely small & right next to the bar & dining area. Did not go in it at all during my trip. A bus stop is located outside the hotel so do expect a loud honking every few minutes & lots of noise from the street. Beds are somewhat hard & the shower water pressure isn't that great. Hotel employees were just okay. At no point did we feel like anyone went out of their way to make us feel very welcome. We were rarely greeted when walking in & out of the hotel & keep in mind the hotel has no elevators so make sure that you are ready to climb some stairs! Thankfully, we rented a car & did our own thing every day. Aside from the beautiful beach, the hotel grounds did not have much to offer as we did not like the food at all. Most nights we ended up eating at Oistins up the road. Mind you, the other guests seemed okay with the premises, but this hotel was NOT for us! Not what we're used to

These worst experience in my life. I am arguing with the hotel now for full reimbursement.

The hotel is very small but it's plus ok rooms are ocean front. Great views. The rooms are ok. The water is amazing but the beach itself isn't great. All public. Barely any chairs or umberellas. We got up at 6:30 am to save chairs. Pool is very small. Again doesn't seem to be enough chairs for everyone. The food? Well it was good. Tasty and ok portions. Just would have hoped for more variety and options. All order from menu which is small for all three meals. The portions are ok. We ended up eating at a tapas place one night which was delicious just less than a mile from the hotel (accessible from the boardwalk). The staff was friendly. All inclusive but not your traditional all you can eat. If you have big appetites this place is not for you. If you like lots of activity this place is not for you. If you're just looking for peace and quiet I'd recommend. I don't think I'd go back. I much prefer larger resorts with room to spread around and more things to do.

This is my first time writing a review and I am proud to write it for Soco Hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and willing to assist you for every want and need. My gf and I arrived earlier than the check in time but were still allowed to enjoy all the facilities and the drinks before while we waited to be checked in and were still able to check in hours before the actual time. When we were supposed to check out we were allowed a further hour and still able to enjoy lunch even after we checked out. The food is comparable to a 5 star restaurant. I would recommend this hotel to everyone and I can't wait to go back.
