This hampton is ok but needs a litttle updating. They have a nice staff and a good breakfast. They have a standard fitness center. The business center has trouble printing for some reason. This may be due to the ink being low.
My company booked me here for business because of its close proximity to our meeting location. Everything at first glance seemed okay, but I could clearly tell this was an older property. No curb appeal whatsoever. That distinct "hotel smell" immediately present when entering the building. Obvious modern updates to the breakfast area, and these updates stood out against the older appearance of the exterior and the front desk area. Hall carpeting was in good repair, but had a dated pattern. In my room, the wall nearest the bathroom was scuffed and showed signs of wear and repainting, the wall seam had been patched, and there was plastic stripping covering the wall seam as well. The bathroom vanity showed obvious scuffs and wearing as well. All of the above not enough to be deal breakers. The deal breakers: The front desk agent wasn't at the desk, and she didn't verify photo ID or credit card information at check in. Lack of standard security checks like this speak volumes about the hotel, and it communicated to me loudly and clearly, "WE DON'T CARE." There was visible evidence of mold on the bathroom ceiling, both above the shower area and above the bathroom entryway. The carpet was scuzzy. I walked around in flip-flops the entire time because of the dirt, hair, and residue on the carpet. That "hotel smell" lingered on EVERYTHING. The contents of my suitcase still reek of it. The bed was like a creaky board, and the pillows were lumpy rocks. Internet access was extremely dodgy. Lightning fast one minute, and buffering forever in the next minute. This was, without a doubt, the noisiest hotel stay I have ever experienced. I could hear every single creak, bump, and thud made by my neighbors on the same floor, and definitely from my neighbors above me. I felt like I was staying in a cheap apartment because I could hear my upstairs neighbors every time they talked loudly, walked anywhere in the room, dropped something on the floor, and when they made love as I was trying to fall asleep. The next morning, as I was getting ready to shower, I could hear my neighbors talking and was able to sing along to the song on their radio. Bottom line: Far too noisy to be relaxing for any guest, business or leisure. If your one and only priority is CHEAP, this is the place. Otherwise, please spend a couple more bucks for a quiet, relaxing stay.
My grandson and I were stranded as our car broke down. We were on our way back to Texas from Montgomery. Alabama. We need a place to stay over night while our car was repaired. This was an excellent, place to stay.
I am a Hilton Diamond Member, I stay at a lot of hotels across the country. Covington Hampton Inn is terrible. 1. Toilet was unflushed, full of poop and tissue paper.( This was suppose to be a clean room. I wish I had taken a picture, but I wanted to throw up as I ran from the room.) 2. Out of complimentary water for Diamond Members. 3. Hall smelled moldy and hot. 4. Elevator was extremely slow, S-L-OOOOOO-W. 5. Internet connection marginal. 6. Occassional chair was badly stained. 7. Rooms looked like an old Motel 6, hotel past overdue for a remodel. 8. Bed old and springy. I don't know how anyone gave this hotel a good rating, unless they were a relative to the franchisee or have never stayed in a hotel before. I would have left but I have a credit card of file with Hilton.
The room was spacious and a/c was cold. The hallway on second floor leading to room was hot and smelly. Did not eat the free breakfast so can't say if it was good. For a short stay the place is decent. The pool was small but fun and clean.
Walked into a mothball-smelling room. Very unpleasant. The toilet basin stains were a big surprise (hard water or old toilet). Unfortunately I would not likely stay at this Hampton again. Great staff, but the room was not a typical Hampton room.
The hotel is very clean and close enough to stores should you need them it is also close to the interstate so you can get on the road quickly if you need to. its a 25-minute drive from New Orleans which is great. It is also tucked into an area that is not a high traffic area so its really quiet.
Hotel is dirty, door locks and handles missing on some rooms. Rooms out of service. Brown Water, Mildew smell in units. Room dirty floors. Drunk people walking the halls. Overall bad hotel and should not be a Hampton Inn.
This hotel is filthy, smells, full of cobwebs with dirty toilet and non functioning appliances. It was loud and felt unsafe. The staff was difficult and rude, I booked this for my wife while she was traveling expecting a safe clean hotel. It was so bad that she decided to leave at 11 pm and had to get another Hotel.
This was an older Hampton Inn. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean but the bed was not as comfortable as I've come to expect from Hamton Inn. But,overall, it was a good stay and I would stay again.
