Nice getaway - perfect to hit up Hess village

We’ve stayed here before and based on its location and friendliness of staff we came back. Got the balcony room , which was great. The front desk staff were super friendly and the housekeeping staff were as well. Location to bars and restaurants great. While parts of the area of town are questionable I felt safe with the controlled entry and onsite parking.

The hotel was nice but the area around the hotel was scary with many homeless people in area right around the hotel. Did not feel safe walking outside of the hotel especially at night.

Parking should be included in the price or told upfront at booking. It was $20 extra and then the parking spaces were limited so we had to park in their overflow across the street...not good at all from a security perspective. And there would never be enough parking spaces on the hotel property as it was very very limited based on the hotel capacity. The bathroom sink is behind the bathroom entry door... not good.

Homeless people around property, not a great neighborhood at all. $19.50 a day parking, not very professional, friendly receptionist. Ask and even tipped the room service attendant to change sheets and replace towels, she left the bag of towels without cleaning, changing sheets.

A lovely welcoming hotel.

The hotel staff were so welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. We were staying from the UK to attend a best friends funeral. I had a handwritten note from Diana the guest manager and that meant the world to me. The hospitality staff in the breakfast room were so friendly and the choices of fresh food were excellent. A lovely friendly atmosphere in the whole of the hotel was appreciated during our stay. Special mention goes to Tina, hotel manager and Janice on reception xx We made a decision to cut our stay short due to the surrounding area. NO FAULT OF HOTEL AT ALL. I wish Tina the best as she battles this situation. Bless you Tina for all you do.

The hotel was very comfortable and had excellent amenities: the free breakfast, wifi, and fitness room/swimming pool, and outdoor patio. Having a in-suite kitchen is a big plus especially if you just want to eat-in and stay put for the evening. The central location is also a big plus, with nearby Jackson Square, King William Street restos/cafes and shopping along James St North. Was also able to visit the nearby Art Gallery of Hamilton (AGH) - amazing! The Art Crawl (2nd Fridays) was also a fun event to attend/participate in. Hamilton is really a great place for an affordable and quality weekend getaway. Love the burgeoning artist scene!

Noise and drugs.

Downtown hamilton is FULL of drug users and im from oshawa. A den was right outside my window. I was on the 3rd floor. There are no lines to park on the blavard in front of the hotel so i didnt know it was parking. The entrance door stays locked bc of the sketchy nabourhood. The lobby is on the second floor. Additional 20 bucks to park in the parking garage under the building but there are no spot. But there is parking across the street in a different parking garage from the 4th floor and up. Yet i got a warning on my windshield for parking there? The staff was amazing. The room smelt steongly like vinigar and mildew but went away when i turned the ac off. Had to unplug it bc it was too cold and the controle pad didnt work. After all that and i was very pleased with how clean it was. Also how i had a full kitchen(staying one night so didnt need it). The noise of the city was absolutly insane. I had earplugs in as well as a noice machine on my phone on full blast and i could still hear the motercycles, emergency sirens, and crappy cars echoing off the buildings. Breafast was amazing but i was so tired. Great hotel honestly but super duper sucky location.
