Very good rooms with kitchenette. Everything you need is provided in the kitchens. Room was spacious with a nice clean bathroom. Good onsite laundry with lots of clean machines. Bed was very comfortable. Staff were amazing and very understanding concerning our sudden date changes. A really good hotel that is highly recommended.
From browsing the internet on Staybridge Suite, I was expecting a grand White House looking building . But after driving around Hamilton downtown I realized there is no space for such a grand building. Nonetheless, I had a great time at Staybridge. Underground parkings were limited but there were outdoor parking across the street. The room was clean and very functional. It came with a full kitchen, fridge, stove , dishwasher... etc . The complementary breakfast was more than adequate. Good choice of Wolfgang coffee. There was a waffle maker too. There were lots of comfortable seating and the patio was just adjacent to the restaurant. ( you need your card key to re-enter from the patio). In the evening the restaurant seating area was opened. You can help yourself with coffee and tea. It's a very nice space to gather with friends to play board games and chat. During the week there are socials and food are served. We only stayed for the weekend and did not get to enjoy that. Definitely, I would recommend Staybridge when you come to Hamilton.
First time I have been to Hamilton, so I booked a room downtown at the Staybridge. The original plan was to stay at the Crowne Plaza, however that changed ownership and was no longer part of the IHG family. I had arrived much earlier than expected, around 9:30AM, so my room was not ready. However, the woman at the front desk let me park in their secured lot and advised me breakfast was still going on and I could have some. SInce I had driven for 3 1/2 hours and did not eat, this was very nice. The garage is underground, which is nice, however it is very small and the spaces are very narrow. I nearly clipped a car due to the compact size and the fact my car is a little larger than normal. Luckily, I didn't hit anything. The hotel for some reason has two lobbies. The first floor from the street is very small, and the main lobby, breakfast area, etc is on the second floor, with the rooms on floors 3-6. Odd design, but you get used to it. I grabbed some coffee and walked around Downtown Hamilton while I waited. Nearby is an indoor mall with a great farmer's market. I would advise stopping in if they are open. While taking my walk, it started to rain, so I ran back in. Room wasn't ready yet, so the woman at the desk let me use the business center until it was. Around 11:30 or so, room was ready so I went upstairs, I have never been in a Staybridge, but I was happy what I saw. A mini-kitchen, a living room and a separate bedroom, each with a TV, plus central air. Very nice design. The TV is a bid odd- channels are numbered not in the conventional way and not every channel listed on the card came in. Many were just static. Since I wanted something to do while waiting out the rain, this was a little disappointing, The wi-fi is there, but very spotty, I constantly lost signal the whole stay. This needs to be addressed. Bathroom is small but functional. Shower works great. Rain eventually stopped and I took a walk to Hamilton Harbor, roughly 20 or 30 minutes, you can see some views of the harbor and Lake Ontario. Worth a visit if you like to see ships. Had dinner and a beer then went to a Ti-Cats game, the CFL team in Hamilton. You can walk there, but it's a hike so I would recommend driving, bus, or taxi (stadium is roughly a mile and a half from the hotel). Some of the neighborhoods on the way are not the best either, though I had no issues when I walked. I got back close to midnight and slept well, had a nice strong hot shower then enjoyed the breakfast again. There is a small patio you can sit and enjoy the morning. I can't remember if there is a pool, but if there is I didn't use it. I took a short drive to Upper Hamilton where you can see great views of downtown and the water by looking off a mountain. Overall, service is great, rooms are nice, but wi-fi is terrible and the parking is tight. Part of it is due to being in Downtown Hamilton, which is decent sized and built up, but I wonder if there is another lot or somewhere nearby they can reach an agreement with to use for overflow. Oh, and they have an agreement with the local racetrack/slot casino where you can get $10 in free play. I turned it into $18, so small profit for me! The guards took a couple minutes to make sure my ID was legit, but I understand since I'm sure they don't see many Michigan licenses. I would come back if my travels take me to Hamilton again. Hopefully the wi-fi will be updated.
I can honestly say that this was one of our best hotel experiences ever. We had booked our room months in advance knowing that we would be in town for a concert at First Ontario Place (which is conveniently only a few blocks away). On our way to the hotel we received a call from the hotel and we were in dread that they had overbooked or something and saying that they could no longer accommodate us -- but it was good news. We had originally booked a jacuzzi room which was no longer available but instead they were giving us a room with a private terrace! That overlooked Hess Village no less! Although we were looking forward to the jacuzzi a private terrace on a beautiful day is great too. When we arrived at the hotel we were promptly greeted by the same girl who had talked to us on the phone and she knew who we were. Her name is Natalia and she was amazing. Our room was amazing to say the least. It was like a one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and livingroom. Although we were only there for the night and didn't get a chance to use all the facilities they were all there and very well maintained. Our terrace was the highlight of our stay. It allowed us to accommodate our friends both before and after the concert. It was fully stocked with patio furniture. The hotel is located in a convenient downtown spot adjacent to the Hess Village. There are lots of restaurants, bars and shops nearby. There is secure parking under the hotel. The hotel does offer a complimentary breakfast in the morning but you have to be there early! One of the best parts was the noon checkout time. I highly recommend this hotel not only for its high level of customer service but its cleanliness and location. Next time I am in Hamilton I will stay here again.
We stayed here for a week. The room clean and spacious and the complimentary breakfast was good too. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 is because we had an issue with parking across the street because the underground parking was full.
We had a wonderful stay on our overnight trip in Hamilton to visit family. Our one-bedroom suite was very spacious, clean and affordable. The kitchenette included everything we could possibly need to cook. The complimentary breakfast offered a decent variety of options with lots of extra seating. Staff was very friendly but looked exhausted. Overall, excellent stay in one of Hamilton's best hotels.
We had a family affair in Hamilton and stayed at this hotel for the weekend. Everything in Hamilton is close - so the "downtown" location is central to any point you need to get to. the room was spacious, parking was convenient, the staff were courteous, and the breakfast was sufficient. There are some quick food options within walking distance if you need a quick bite. The room looked as if it was partway through being renovated, again for our needs it was satisfactory. the price was very reasonable so if you find yourself in Hamilton and need a little more space for your hotel rate dollar consider this location.
We stay here whenever we are in Hamilton visiting kids and every June for the Ride To Conquer Cancer overnight. We love the clean suites, and so far, we have never run into a noise problem. They welcome pets, which is AWESOME, and the pet fee is minimal. The staff are lovely, and the breakfast included is great.....if you can get it. By that I mean, the Ride to Conquer Cancer is a HUGE fundraiser and many riders stay here for the one night inbetween the two rides, yet in all the years we have stayed here, breakfast still does not begin until 7:30 , and by then we are LONG gone and riding! It would be a nice touch, and support for a great cause, if on this one day they could have breakfast ready for 6 a.m. I know that's early, but it would sure be nicer than taking out Tim Horton's next door. Also, they charge for parking, and we wish they wouldn't. The rates are fair, but should include parking, in our opinion. Other than that, this is a super spot, and we will be back!
All staff was genial and helpfull. Rooms and bed were all comfortable... Breakfast was ı think average, because ı stayed for 7 nights and all these days breakfast was all same. Maybe small surprises will make it better. ı liked that otel. Thank you for everything.
I have been to Hamilton many times for business and have stayed elsewhere. This time I thought I would give Staybridge a try and was glad to see that their standard hadn't changed. Great room very close to Jackson Square and the Kops. Parking was a bit tight but I was driving a 3500 RAM. Overall I will be trying to get my business partner to use this hotel instead of where we usually stay.
