It’s a business travel type hotel-utilitarian, not luxury. Walking distance to a cute town with good restaurants. Breakfast was above average for food choices.

Good price with breakfast and great transit

Hotel Concorde was well priced, especially as our stay included a generous buffet breakfast. Extremely good bus service connects the hotel to the Hamamatsu Station. And the Hamamatsu Castle is next door. Lobby is grand with 20 foot ceilings but laundry room/vending machine room is a bit sketchy.

Nice place stay in the Hamamatsu.

The Service was excellent. The size of the room is better than expected but no king or queen size bed available. The bathroom in the room is a typical unit bath and nothing good.

Reasonable hotel but nothing exceptional

This hotel was quite reasonable and satisfactory but nothing exceptional or over the top. The room itself was quite average, nothing bad, nothing great. The tea kettle in my room was a bit difficult to use, so I eventually gave up (though perhaps this is the fault of my own). The room was fairly clean and the air conditioner was easy to function. The wifi was alright. It worked fairly well, but I had some trouble accessing it at times. The staff were generally courteous and helpful. They appeared to speak English well also. The food was also pretty good and fairly reasonably priced for a hotel of this status. I had the breakfast buffet daily. The buffet had a fair selection of Japanese and western food. I also ordered room service one evening, which was also quite tasty. Location is a ten to twenty minute walk from popular food and nightlife places. It is also right near Hamamatsu Castle and its accompanying park. All in all, I would stay here again. It isn't the best place I have ever stayed in, but for a short business trip it or traveler trip, I think it definitely does the job.

Clean hotel & nice staffs

The room condition was great. Everything in the room were very clean, and the bed was quite cozy though the room itself was a bit small. 20 min walk from Hamamatsu station, so it's a long distance for walking. But you can take a bus from the station(10min), so the location wouldn't be that problem if you move during bus running hours. I loved styaing in this hotel, and will stay again if I visit Hamamatsu area in future. Definitely good value for the price.

Extremely disappointing

The staff was nice. The lobby was a bit gaudy and ornate with dirty cloth sofas in the waiting area. I had to put a handkerchief down before sitting. Also, the rooms were cramped and dirty. While I expect small rooms in Japan, I was appalled by the level of cleanliness.. The threadbare carpet was sticky and stained. Furniture was filthy. Walls were dirty. Definitely not worth the 13,000JPY that they charged per night. Contrast to the previous night and duration of my 10 day business trip where I stayed at the Yokohama Sheraton and paid only 3500JPY more per night for a spotless room and impeccable service. But the Concorde is in Hamamatsu, where choices are few. I suggest looking at other alternatives in the area. I travel a great deal in Asia on business and don't normally complain, but feel that this place charged a lot of money for a very poor quality room.

I wish a couple more pillows were provided. I had to nurse my baby and pillows help make the task more comfortable. Also, the carpets in this room were a little worn, but a previous stay I was in a room with cleaner carpet. The view of Hamamatsu castle is very pretty, especially at night when it is all lit up. Great central location. Breakfast is good selection.

expensive considering content

Hotel was OK, it is a standard Japanese business hotel. However, it is far from Hamamatsu Station, where there are better hotels at lower prices. Service is normal Japanese standard, very good. I was surprised to find that all restaurants in the hotel closed at 9 pm so I took a cab and returned back to the station area to have a night cap. I don't think I'll stay here again.
