The hotel is very pretty and the service is amazing!!! Employees went above and beyond to help, people like Jefferson in the front desk and Freddy in the lobby really made our stay the best in Guayaquil.
We stayed here for several days at the end of a girls trip to South America. Beautiful rooms with a nice view of the river, fast wifi and comfy beds! We ere treated royally and enjoyed the pool on the 9th floor and the view as well as th eoutstanding restaurant downstairs. Chosing to eat most of our meals at the hotel was a great division! Indeed some of the best meals we have ever eaten! Our compliments to the chef! Great staff from bell boys, front desk, houskeeing...everyone! Great stay!
Ok so I've been to Guayaquil visiting in-laws about 20 times and I've stayed in a few hotels just to get out of my wife's childhood bedroom for a night or two. This hotel is relatively new and I guess it's intriguing to locals because my wife really wanted to give it a try. Check in was fairly easy albeit there was a slight hiccup when my wife didn't have an ID with her. I think that's an Ecuadorian thing.... all guests need to have ID. they don't ask for a credit card for incidentals like in the US but all members of your party should have ID handy. Anyway the room was fine but we had the advertised "mountain view" room that was really not something they should be boasting about. It's not a mountain but rather a hill with a slum on it. It's quite depressing. Also the windows are quite in need of a bath but as I scanned the "favela" I secretly wondered if the window-washing budget was entirely devoted to the river-view rooms. The hotel didn't seem too full as it was a Tues night and I always wonder why hotels don't offer their nicer view rooms even to people who don't pay for them if they have the availability. Why not make my experience all the more enjoyable and increase the likelihood that I'll return? Anyway if you get a mountain view room, don't expect much. The hotel and rooms are in good shape a but there are some minor details that could use some attention. Things like the windows. There was coffee in the lobby but no form of creamer. There was no butter available at the buffet. Little things that were just annoying enough to make you notice. The area around the hotel is the real star of this property. Super tourist friendly all along the river and in walking distance to Las Penas and the northern border of the Malecon which are like the two biggest touristy things to do in Guayaquil. In this way the Wyndham is really in the best location out of all the hotels in Guayaquil. On the other hand this is not at all the real/authentic Guayaquil. I did utilize the little pool/ spa area on the roof and enjoyed it.
I travel often to Guayaquil but this is the first time I stayed at this hotel. Enjoyed my stay. Great rooms , great pillows , fantastic service from the drivers to front desk personnel. Will keep coming back. This will be my hotel while in Guayaquil!
Loved our stay! Amazing view, comfy bed, and great location for walking the boardwalk to restaurants. The breakfast was spectacular!! The only negative was we needed laundry service but it was super expensive. Our friends paid $95 for a very small grocery size bag of laundry. There was a rush fee to get it back in 12 hours, which was an additional 50%.
I am a well traveled person and have high expectations of my hotels. I was very pleased with the accommodations. The hotel is very clean, comfortable and has the latest decor as it's a new hotel. The food at the hotel was great. The buffet at breakfast was yummy. Highly recommend you stay there if ever in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
Enjoyed my one night stay here. The location was perfect for exploring the boardwalk and Las Penas. Lots of restaurants right outside the door. Helpful, courteous hotel staff and a shuttle to and from the airport made this an effortless stay. Oh, and a comfortable, roomy hotel room and bed. All in all, would stay again.
Stayed for one night. Check in was OK, but they gave me the worse room ever! 101! Be careful. My view was a big wall and the main AC units which were also were loud. Of course, there were no other rooms available. Went to the restaurant and had to wait 25 minutes for service. Location is the best, but staff has to improve.
Wonderful room with large picture window of the enormous river. The hotel is special, e.g. coffee delivery with wake up call, chocolate offering even without accepting turn-down service, etc. High speed wifi was excellent after being away for 5 days with no connection, and 60 inch HD TV was a perfect addition. The bathroom was huge with jacuzzi tub and separate magna-shower with all the right accompaniments. For all that is provided, the charge for the room is more than reasonable. If it were in NYC, the daily rate would probably be in the $1000 per night range.
Wonderful hotel with helpful staff, good breakfast, big and clean rooms. The highlight is the location - on the shore with beautiful sea view and several restaurants in the surroundings. Highly recommended for a short stay in Guayaquil.
