Great option in Guayaquil. In my opinion is better than the Wyndham. Here's my review about it Pros - Location (Conveniently in front of the Mall) - Attention - Rooms are quite comfortable - Pool area and amenities Cons - Breakfast. (Below average quality) My visit - With my wife - Weekend
Standard Sheraton property and experience. Convenient location to the mall across the bridge. The fitness center is in desperate need of an upgrade. The gym has a limited selection, broken equipment and is lacking adequate lighting.
I stayed at the Sheraton Guayaquil for one week on business. The hotel is very close to the airport and they have a complimentary shuttle that goes back and forth every 30 minutes, all day. This is a GREAT perk for female solo travelers, I must stay. This is a nice hotel but the REAL stars are the staff. Everyone is so professional, the service is wonderful. The staff really want you to have a pleasant stay! Housekeeping even brought around small, delicious chocolate cake in the afternoon. I recommend this hotel :).
The room felt "unfinished" as there were several issues that could easily been taken care if by maintenance and or housekeeping. The carpeting was loose just inside the room door that caused slight tripping. The towel rack in the bathroom should have been over the toilet instead of in the shower. With the size of the opening to the shower I hit my head on the rack a few times. There were line markings on the wall tiles in the bathroom left after the tile workers had cut the openings for the power and switch boxes. There was paint and mortar on the tiles and masking tape and paint left on the top of the glass of the shower wall. The tiles on the bathroom wall with the mirror had no grout and the wall corners were left looking unfinished. The floor tile in the doorway had a corner broken and missing. Overall, it felt as if the workers never finished the job. I don't know the age of this building and or if there was a recent remodel, but with all these small issues, and based on other Sheraton hotels I've stayed at, this room was more expensive than it should have been. As a travel writer and photographer, should I write a review of my stay, I couldn't give this hotel more than a 3 1/2 star rating out of 5. As a Starwood Preferred Guest, I would greatly appreciate a reply to know how you will attend to the needs of the room(s) so I can offer a fair review and future recommendations to travelers. Personally, and there would be no mention in any review, a partial refund of my expenses would be appreciated.
I stayed there two nights , and the staff was very nice to me trying to help me with all my needs. Special recognition to Arianna, Demaris, and Stephanie who did special services for me like trying to help find me a big hat, and getting a cd of my pics on my memory card. Thank you to Veronica the Quality Control Manager who coordinated many things for me. The breakfast was delicious, and you will need to try some Ecuadorian dishes. I especially liked the Arroz con Camarones. The fitness center is nicely equipped with up to date equipment. There is a free shuttle that will pick you up at the airport but, contact the hotel ahead of your arrival to tell your flight number, and date. The trip to the hotel takes 5 minutes from the airport.
A very good hotel for a business trip. You will get all you need to have a enjoyable stay. Really nice staff, a very good service, fast internet in al the hotel and a big mall just a cross the street.
Good hotel. Good experience. I requested to be moved from the 3rd floor due to an odor originating from the spa (eucalyptus?)( the pungent odor was in the hallway of the 3rd floor. The move was to the 6th floor. Otherwise, everything was Ok.
The Sheraton, Guayaquil continues to meet our expectations. The shuttle driver met us in the terminal, not out on the curb. Air conditioned ride to the hotel. Speedy checkin with cold drinks. Even a room upgrade. Very impressive.
The Sheraton Hotel Guayaquil is our home away from home in Ecuador. We regularly fly from Cuenca to Guayaquil on our way to the USA. There is no nicer Baggage Claim area than GYE's, with a delightful orchid garden awaiting travelers arriving on TAME Airline. Today, we enjoyed a happy greeting from Jose Santana, who transported us by van to the Sheraton Hotel & endorsed our selection of a seafood restaurant for dinner. Omar España, bellman, expertly handled our bags, including the addition of the one we sent ahead of us, as TAME's small plane cannot easily take extra luggage. We have been pleased, time and again, with the attention we receive from the Sheraton staff & look forward to seeing our Sheraton friends, again, upon our return to Guayaquil en route to our home in Cuenca.
I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Rooms are great, internet is great, food is great. However, all the guests and myself had a situation during the first night with a lot of noise complains. Apparently, there were some young artists staying at the same hotel the same dates I was staying, and outside the lobby there were plenty of loud teenagers waiting for these artists to appear. The loud noise went until approx 1:30am . I personally went to the lobby at around 11:45pm and talket to the front desk girls, but the couldnt handle the situation. I am sorry, but the hotel responsiblity is to keept the comfort of their guests.
