If you want to live a different experience you should try this Boutique Hotel. Very quiet and peaceful place. Food, especially breakfast, is very good. You have two options, stay in the manor house or one of the rooms around an incredible cactus garden.
As soon as you check in, you're welcomed with a friendly smile, a glass of traditional flavored water. The rooms are all different! Dedicated to Mexican artists or in keeping with the times in which it was built, Quinta Las Acacias provides not only a taste of the culture, but the elegance and beauty of the city of Guanajuato. Everything on the menu is delicious. Great food in a cozy dining room. I highly recommend it!
Very well perserved, quite, ten minutes away from downtown... if you want to feel in a colonial and fancy place, this is the option, staff with high quality service standards.. very good price / quality...
Our second time here but stayed in the main hotel. It was a little noisy with the street traffic just outside. but, closing the shutters at night and turning on the air conditioner drowned most of the noise out. The room was large, clean and well appointed. My only slight criticism was breakfast. It is complimentary and there was a good selection. But the service was slow and the coffee was not hot, but barely warm. Every little thing we asked for, such as jelly, butter, honey, etc. took a few minutes to arrive at the table. Example: we were given a basket of sweet bread about fifteen minutes before the eggs came. Then, one person asked for toast and it came about ten minutes after the eggs! It was not a coordinated effort at all. The staff is quite friendly and tries hard.
Quinta Las Acacias was the perfect Boutique Hotel for our Guanajuato adventure. It is an elegant & well thought out Hotel. It reminded us of our stays in Italy at restored farmhouses. We were booked in for two nights and stayed for four. Our favourite memories of our stay our the staff, who are so warm and hospitable. We were spoiled rotten by their gracious service. Our breakfast was included which we thoroughly enjoyed daily. It took on a new meaning when we found the chicken coop up stairs beside the pool. They are the best looking chickens we have seen. No wonder the eggs are so good! We ate in the hotel & enjoyed the salmon dinner. The chocolate cake was a big hit too. Our room was spacious, bed was comfy, coffee was great and the jacuzzi tub is such a bonus after a day exploring town. It is our preference to stay out of the Centro due to the noise and this hotel is a perfect location for that. From our suite we would sit and have a drink on our deck & take in the sunset. Wifi was perfect. Movie selection on TV was good - english stations. We walked to town and we took cabs home. Cabs are reasonable here. It was less than $5 to get from Centro. Across the street there is a new park and just above that is a reservoir where you can rent a paddle board or a small row boat for a romantic time. This is the kind of place we will return to and recommend highly to others. Each room is unique and It would be fun to go with a group. Javier, Enrique, Arturo & Maria took such great care of us. We look forward to seeing you all again. Guanajuato has a special place in our hearts, thanks to the kindness of the staff at Quinta Las Acacias.
The front office desk was doing things ridiculously wrong all the time, though the young man there sounded equally confident all the time. The hotel didn't have tea (!), there was no kitchen working on Sunday, the cab came late when asked and we missed the sunset at Pipilla. And the European room we stayed in is right on the main street, which kept us awake each of the two nights we were there by local revellers who went past music blaring and closing the windows had no effect. The breakfast was quite average. All in all, not worth the money paid.
I loved this place, from the historical aspect of the old mansion to the beautifully decorated room, to the fine service. The included breakfast was very good, no details was left out, in keeping with the period of the home, even the napkins and placemats in delicate lace. This hotel is perfect for couples as most rooms have large jacuzzi tubs but would also be great for families. The personnel at this hotel were so kind and accommodating, superb! Thank you to every single person for making me feel so special!
We only stayed at this hotel overnight and arrived late and checked out early. We wished we could have spent more time here because it's very elegant and our room on the top floor very spacious and comfortable. We ate at the restaurant and our meal was delicious and the staff were just the right amount of attentive. My husband left his sunglasses in our room and the staff have very kindly offered to send them on for us. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
It is a unique hotel in Guanajuato. The staff is amazing, they are friendly, professional and know well about customer service, it is a gem in Guanajuato. The concierge gives you the best advises to make your trip unforgettable. I wish I could remember all the names however, Karina the concierge, Paola from reservations and Edith one of the chefs, were very kind and friendly. Try the home made chocolates at reception, they are exquisite :-) Hope you have in your future plans a fitness center, it would be a great addition to your facilities. Plus, it is pet friendly !!!
The Quinta Las Acacias in located on the eastern end of Guanajuato, GTO. It's a 4 kilometer walk or cab ride down to the central district. It was obviously a mansion at one time, although I don't know its history. The neighborhood is like an embassy row. The management is strongly oriented to detail and delivers an unusual and satisfying experience. Overall, it feels like the France of 1900. The furniture, lighting, doors and hardware, the wallpaper, the recessed window shutters, the stained, etched and beveled glass, and amazingly--the Brazil rosewood floors!!--take the visitor right back to another time and place. I honestly expected to run into Marcel Proust on the terrace. The food is excellent, and breakfast is included. A truly distinctive experience. John Scherber Author of Into the Heart of Mexico.
