Staff looked like supervisors behind their reception table. very cold and unfriendly. I suggest a complete overhaul of staff attitude. You are in the hotel business guys. learn to smile a little! They should get their act together - I paid my bill the night before my check out. I thought everything was ok but the morning staff scrutinised my bill and demanded that I pay for a breakfast on the day that I was still out of Guam! How could I eat breakfast in their hotel when I was still on the plane and on my way into Guam? simple logic. She spent so much time figuring that out causing delay in my shuttle trip to the airport. Very bad experience with that hotel!
People are very friendly and nice, but they do not have good memory lol so you needa keep reminding them if you require something extra. Free water is only offered on arrival day, so you better get some water on 2nd day if you stay for more than a night! Remember cab won't be the choice from airport, its 1.5 times more expensive than hotel arranged shuttle. Air conditioning is very strong in my room, actually turning it low cool do not have significant different, but I agree that is better than not enough air con. It is super nearby beach and shopping mall (although that's not my aim to Guam) my key card always not working, so I always needed to come back reception desk after trying the card, that upset me when I was carrying heavy backpack or stuffs/water from supermarket! After experienced that twice continuously, I gave the card to reception every time I went back to the room, cut my time and effort walking around! Over all I like this hotel, and the price is making sense to its services I guess.
I only booked this place to take a quick shower and get some sleep before boarding a night flight out of the island. Was pretty good value compared to other similar motels in the same price range. But of course, have to factor in the "luck" of which room you get I suppose. Staff were friendly enough, and their breakfast was not too shabby!
I’d say we got the full experience at the Bayview Hotel in Guam. We arrived in March and stayed there for an entire month while we looked for a house. The room we had was pretty spacious; a nice television, refrigerator and microwave as well. The balcony allowed for some truly amazing views of the bay… get it… “Bay View”… never mind. The view is unbelievable, and in a place like Guam where it rains often, the sky is usually talking to you. The most interesting thing about the room in general is the AC. I can’t speak for every room, but the AC worked almost too well. The air in the room kicked hard and made the room very comfortable inside, however the thermostat did not work so the air stayed on constantly until you manually turned it off. Hey, better than it not working at all! The Staff are extremely courteous and friendly. The island hospitality is in full swing here. Everyone seems very willing to help and answer questions. Check in was swift and they provide you with all kinds of useful tips and information about the island. Housekeeping is diligent but a little unpredictable. Sometimes they come at noon, other times closer to 9am. Either way, if you’re not ready for service, they’re more than willing to come back if you give them a good time. The hotel has a restaurant and a tea shop. I never went to the restaurant, it was always packed, but the tea house decent. The hotel is only a half block away from downtown Tumon with all the restaurants and shopping you could ask for. Two of the best restaurants in town are less than a miles away, Meskla Dos and Rotary Sushi, both definitely worth a shot. Our stay at the Bay View was a long one, but I would definitely stay again should I ever find myself in Guam again. Good price, great hospitality and positive experience.
I have read a few bad reviews about this hotel but honestly I found it to be good to very good. The location is great - walking distance to all the shops and the beach. The room was large and very clean. The check in was efficient and they even changed our room so that we could check in early. We had a hire car and the parking was not an issue. There was always a space available (3 level car park next door or outside at the opposite end of the building). The wifi was included in the room rate and the speed was good. It had everything we needed at a good price.
Dive shop decent pool and attentive staff. Thumbs up to the Japanese restaurant as well. Clean room and quiet location mauka side of tumoning. This is good for business traveller or airline crew not kid efficient.
We were booked at the Bayview by United Airlines, due to a flight cancellation. The United staffers repeatedly told me it was a nice hotel, but it was terrible. The bathroom was dirty and nothing felt clean. The balcony was covered with accumulated bird droppings. If United tries to book you here, refuse the option.
After numerous calls to the hotel and the booking agent, found the hotel is unwilling to change the date of my stay. I booked and then had a travel date change of 2 days. The hotel was very stern that I had booked with a no cancellation rate. I told them, I didn't want to cancel, just wanted to change the date by 2 days. I offered to pay the different if that rate was more. They said it was their policy not to change if you had a no cancellation rate. I asked if they were willing to accept bad rating on travel sites and they said that I was not the first to ask and they were willing to take that risk. I asked if they would be compassionate and change my date and that I had a book my return layover in Guam with them. They said sorry, can't change. Wow, that is a hotel all about the bottom dollar. Wonder if they also failed customer service. Beware of this hotel and their customer service.
The hotel is located in the tourist area. It is close to the DFS and other shopping districts. But since it is located in an elevated area, it is quite tasking walking back to the hotel from the shopping district since it is ascending in slope. The hotel is an old hotel, but the view from the balcony is spectacular. And, the hotel is a totally non-smoking hotel. There is Delmonico in the ground floor and there are nearby dining places which offer Italian and japanese cuisine. There is also Outback Steakhouse close by. Amenities, such as water are only at check-in and not replenished daily. For the other toiletries, such as slippers, you have to ask for them. However, there are other high-rise hotels nearby which could give the same view. But the rates at the time we were there, this had the best affordable rate at the time. The others were fully booked and quite pricey.
View from our room balcony, a spectacular view of tumon bay and the city.. Bayview hotel is an average hotel ,the staff are friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay... will be back for another fun adventure...
