Hotel Roma Guadalajara3.5 out of 5.0

Hotel Roma is a modern hotel located just two blocks from the plaza de armas in Guadalajara. This location made finding a registered taxi or hailing an Uber at any hour very easy and transportation was quite affordable. The Hotel provides excellent toiletries and the staff are kind and helpful and they speak nearly any language you could want them to. They all seem to be quite knowledgeable of the area and are willing to provide guidance if you need assistance. The only negative experience I had with this hotel was when a drain in the bathroom plugged up, presumably from hair or something, and maintenance did not respond until the following day despite being assured by the front desk that someone was on their way. The wifi was also not as consistent as may be needed for someone who is traveling for business and it certainly would not have been able to handle a video call. If you are traveling to Guadalajara for a vacation and looking to see the "centro" area, this hotel is the perfect combination of location, service, and price. I highly recommend considering this hotel over higher priced alternatives.
We had to change hotels the second day of our vacation in a previous hotel. This hotel sent a couple of people to pick up our luggage from the hotel Frances. The hotel staff made sure we were happy and worked above and beyond to make sure the accommodations were to our liking! Breakfast was great, we will totally stay there again.
I only book this hotel because of the pool. It turned out that the pool was under construction - and it didn't say so on the internet. I waited for 40 minutes for at roomservice call to the roof top and I had to go and get it my self. Later I waited 50 minutes for my roomservice-dinner and had to go to the reception again. It you only speak english, you should never go here! The rooms is the only good thing!
While visiting with my family Guadalajara, Hotel Roma was a last minute thing but it worked out perfectly. Hotel is Spotless! Very well located filled all my families needs for the unexpected stay! Walking distance to many beautiful places that surround this hotel. Great food all walking distance.. safe and mostly I have to point out the older bell boy who welcomed us providing us with all the hotels amenities that were not explained in the check in desk. Helped us with ac and all we need to know very, educated and pleasant person to deal with.
The hotel is in a good location very clean no complains at all it is close to everything, the staff are friendly there's this bell boy in particular his name is Hector as soon as we arrived to the hotel he was very friendly, attentive and very helpful we are planning to go back in a year and staying at the same hotel.
While this hotel is very generic, and could be anywhere, it's a great place to reach all the Old CityWell Located for a tour of the historic sights. Clean, very reasonable. While we just wanted a "bed for the night", I understand they have a pool, sauna, etc. Friendly staff.
I found this place just by serendipity, and fell in love with it the first time I visited Guadalajara! It is everything I was looking for in a Guadalajara hotel. The location is convenient to all of the hustle and bustle of Old Town (El Centro), but it is very quiet, clean and modern. I am a single (adventurous) woman (age 67) traveling alone, and I felt absolutely safe there. Every one of the staff are friendly and accommodating. If you sign up for the breakfast plan, you get a full, hot, delicious buffet with at least 8 items, plus cereal, fruit, yogurt, pastries and juice/milk/coffee. The next time I went back to Guadalajara, I stayed there again and had the same wonderful experience. I am going back in April 2017, and guess where I will be staying! I cannot imagine staying anywhere else. It has truly become my "home away from home" in Guadalajara.
While vacationing at Grand Luxxe Resort in Nuevo Vallarta, we decided to take the over night tour to Guadalajara. We booked through Puerto Vallarta Discovery. We were picked up at our resort by tour director Jorge H. Novoa Ramos, then he picked up three other people at their resort. We made the five hour trip in a very comfortable van. Jorge, was a very educated on the history of the area which he shared along the way. After stopping for breakfast on the way we continued to the town of Tequila, Jalisco, where we visited the Tequila factory. Jorge shared the history of the town and how the making of tequila was discovered. To our surprise, the town of Tequila was there before the discovery of tequila and the drink was named after the town. The factory was very clean and the tequila tasting was great!!! We continued onto Guadalajara and onto Lake Chapala to watch the sunset. We spent the night in Hotel Roma, which is in the Old Down Section. The hotel was a beautiful, well maintained old hotel with very nice rooms and friendly service. We explored the downtown, markets, and my favorite, the jewelry district, which consisted of several very nice buildings, each being 4 to 6 floors in each selling only jewelry. The prices are extremely reasonable. Instead of returning on the same route which is what the main tour does, Jorge, took another route back, stopping at a family owned dairy farm which makes cheese. We were able to watch the cows being milked with modern equipment and taken through the process of the cheese making. We had samples of the cheese, just could not resist buying two big blocks of the cheese. Then he took us to a beautiful Historic Hacienda, which was in a beautiful setting, with beautiful gardens. The entire trip was great, thanks, to Jorge and his wide knowledge of the history of the areas we visited and adding more to the tour than was advertised. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone that is visiting in the area. Hotel Roma is in a central location if you are planning to visit Guadalajara on your own.
The rooftop had great views of downtown. They had wonderful amenities such as pool, gym, & computer room. The entire hotel was clean. Every staff member I encountered was friendly & professional. I'd definitely stay here again & recommend to friends & family.
We book two rooms. We request high floor, rooms together, away from elevators and they did every single request right. thank You. the rooms are clean, new ac units( no noise) the whole staff nice and friendly. the food _5*_ . everything is central to anything around the hotel. the rate reasonable.
