My husband and I stayed with our pups on our way to Michigan. It's our 2nd time staying here, and we were very impressed by how clean and big the rooms are. The location is convenient, right off the highway. Staff are very friendly (Raj especially!), thanked us for staying, and wished us a safe drive. Will definitely stay here again when we need to split up a long drive.
Room was clean and spacious. I was on a road trip with family. It was good for an overnight’s sleep. Great value for money! Friendly staff, nice location, just off the Interstate Highway with some great dining options nearby.
This motel is a peaceful place. The staff is friendly and efficient. While dated, my room and its bathroom were clean and well-kept. The view from my room was worthy of a picture on Facebook. The HD TV was fantastic. Bed and pillows were comfortable to me. I brought my dog. When I arrived, I learned that I couldn't leave her unattended in the room, which was disappointing, but the weather was mild, so we were okay with her in the car. If you stay here, bring your own breakfast stuff, cups, water, and coffee. Microwave, fridge, and freezer makes it easy to keep/prepare stuff I brought with me. Well prepared travelers can find a great value here!
We checked in late after teaching a dog training class. The check in was smooth. We were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the room and the spacious size. On the second night we were kept up until 2 am due to the band playing at the neighboring hotels bar. We called over to complain and were rudely spoken to by the broken English speaking person. Hope they liked the negative review that my wife left and the PLCB complaint.
Stayed her on a Tuesday night and went down Wednesday morning to reserve the room for an additional night. I was told the hotel was sold out! I was in dis belief and he did have 2 rooms but they were about $15 more than the one I just had. I found it hard to believe and because I was upfront in my disbelief he decided that he isn't going to allow me to stay at his hotel in the future! There is also a woman who works for him with a beehive hairdo and she 'appears' to be nice...but she will lie and say she can't rent out rooms because they have a water issue. Then someone else comes in and get a room! Not ethical management! Rooms are decent...but the management is horrendous. Never had an experience where a hotel picked and choose who could stay at the motel.
Needed a place to stop on a long trip. Room was $55 tax included. The room was spotless. The air conditioning was adjustable and we got it super cold. My only complaint is that the beds were low quality. Very noisy and uncomfortable. The front desk staff was friendly.
I was looking for a budget room in the Greensburg/Latrobe area and then found the Motel 6 in nearby New Stanton. New Stanton is a great location thanks to a highway and the nearby turnpike entrance. This location was listed as "newly opened" on the Motel 6 website, and I assumed that meant newly built. It's actually an older building, and I assumed it just joined the Motel 6 family. The room was only $45 a night and comfortable. The chair in the room looked old but otherwise, most things were fine for the budget traveler. The really big coup were the microwave and extra large mini fridge. The mini fridge had a separate door for the freezer so it would fit small items (TV dinners etc). I've never seen such a large "mini" fridge before. The stopper in the bathroom sink broke closed on the first use. I mentioned it to the very nice and personable gentleman who was cleaning the rooms. He said he would get the handyman. It was fixed and working fine when I returned. The room was large but the towels are tiny and there was no shampoo. Soap was included. Again, this is a budget hotel so I was not expecting luxury. I wanted a clean and comfortable room and that is what I got. There are several fast food and restaurants close to the motel. It's just off the highway but there is a lot of construction on the highway. My GPS was confused and misguided me out of my way--though the Motel was close to the exit. Once I found it, it was easy to get to the highway as needed. Again, this is a budget motel. It's no frills but it has all a budget traveler needs (except for shampoo and larger towels) With the mini fridge and microwave, it's easy for a person to save on restaurant costs. I was very pleased with my visit here. I only needed a comfortable bed and a clean room and bathroom and I was not disappointed. There are some more higher end hotels nearby but if you are on a budget, Motel 6 in New Stanton is an excellent choice.
This is a truly terrible hotel. Even though it is incredibly cheap, it's still not worth it - they'd have to pay ME to stay here again. To start out journey, the hotel lost our booking because they had changed management. So, we had to have a smoking room. We were kindly assured that it wouldn't smell too much like smoke, because they'd just painted it. So, paint fumes instead. The hallway smelt a little bit like how I imagine the Battle of the Somme smelt. In the room, things took a downward turn. More stains than a chefs apron - one of which looked worryingly like blood. Cigarette holes in duvets, pillows, shower curtains. It was holier than a priest. The shower won the award for being the only shower from which I actually exited dirtier than when I entered. The hot tap leaked so lukewarm, no, tepid, at best. Tepid. Apparently, the hotel has a policy of 'guest is God'. So be it, then I cast ye, Beelzebub back into the flames of hell, from whence you came.
