It would be impossible to say it all in this space. 1st off I did not make a reservation at this hotel. I went on Choice privileges site and booked the comfort Inn only a few blocks away. This is where we always stay. It is a mediocre but acceptable hotel. The web site booked me in the quality Inn instead and I failed to notice it in the confirmation. BTW, 3 other people at breakfast the told us the same thing happened to them. We arrived at the Comfort Inn at 4pm and they had no reservation. We finally figured it our and went to the Quality Inn to cancel thinking we had until 6pm. They refused and said they had a 24 hour policy. Went back to the Comfort Inn and their policy was 6pm. So we were stuck. Went to our room and the entire haal was fill with workers putting on wallpaper (VERY POOR JOB) and carpet. Got to the room and the heater did not work. It was 10 degrees outside. They gave us a different room. The bathtub spout was sticking out of the wall with exposed pipe. Obviously ( I know because I am a builder) the person installed the wrong one. The workmen (actually kids) hung outside our door until we finally left because they were making so much noise laughing and goofing around. The next morning breakfast was late and everything was stone cold including the eggs and sausage. The juice machine did not work, there was no milk for the cereal. The coffee was cold and they ran out. The night guy dressed in a hoody and could care less apparently set it up. There were a half dozen couples there at the time and everyone was angry but the staff was too incompetent to even bother complaining. I'm sure the health department would have had a heyday in that place. It should be shut down!
The Quality Inn in Grants, NM was a good place to stop when driving cross country. The price, with the AAA discount, was good. Breakfast was better than most Quality Inns, but that doesn't make it especially good. It wasn't bad, though. The room was clean and the staff were friendly. Not a bad experience.
We were scheduled to stay at the Holiday Inn in Grants, however the hotel had no water. I was able to get a room here within minutes and it all worked out. The pool area was nice, the room was larger than expected. Parking for the RV was a little tight as they seemed fully booked. Good spot, I’d stay at again
The room had microwave and refrigerator but service is poor. Despite signs that available incidental supplies were available. None were at the desk, they said they didn't restock. I woke up hunching in abdominal pain and I was threatened with another day charge if I didn't check out instead of being offered a late check out and I'm a platinum member.
We stopped here for the night on the way to Phoenix. Not far from I25 so convenient. Older hotel, but service was super nice, quick check in, pool and hot tub were wonderful, and breakfast was pretty good. Basic hotel. They have made some updates recently. Room was nice and big, comfortable beds, plenty of parking, wifi was fine. Would recommend. Great prices too for all you get.
Bullet points would be easiest on this one: Pros- Breakfast was good and the young man who attended to it, as well as working the front desk, was patient, polite and kind The bed was very clean and firm and sleeping was no issue The king room was huge There is a fan-only setting on the air handler that will provide white noise Cons- Very modest cosmetic repairs would go a long way in making the place look better and give a better impression. Plumbing in the bathroom was beat up especially. OPEN wifi network - no login needed - watch out!
I felt disappointed for a four reasons: 1. The quality of food, especially the eggs, offered at breakfast was not up to the standard most motels with these types of amenities normally offer. 2. The computer in the lobby was not working. 3. The bill we received differed significantly from the amount quoted when we booked online. 4. A receipt was meant to be left under the door in the morning. It wasn't.
This Quality Inn is easy to find from the Interstate and we were impressed with the cleanliness of the lobby, halls, and our room. The desk clerk was very friendly, professional, and helpful. Other than a few perturbations, our stay was very pleasant. Our key cards would not open the side entry door until we took them back to be re-coded. The toilet paper and facial tissue were like sandpaper. The early morning breakfast was late and not very well organized. However it didn't take long to get everything out and ready to go. Probably about 15 minutes late. Would we stay here again? Yes we would if the occasion arises.
This is by no means the hotel of horrors some reviews depict and is a good place to stay, not sketchy. Stayed for 1 night on a Saturday on way thru Grants seeing the monuments. Stayed in upstairs king facing front of building. Room was very large, clean and quiet and hence rounding up to 4 stars. Property is nothing fancy but gets the job done. Front desk friendly on check in though didn't ask how my stay was on check out which is always a nice touch. Tv/wifi good. Breakfast the usual Choice Hotels basic stuff to get you on the road. Only issue was loud refrigerator I couldn't be bothered with and just turned it off. Hotel was quiet certainly not fully occupied and mainly tourists. Property is furthest from the interstate in this part of town which makes it nearest the railroad but still far away so did not hear it other than a low rumble now and then and they don't sound their horns thru this part of town (unlike Gallup). Rate was cheaper than the Comfort Inn which is right next to the interstate so QI seems like good value. Not much to Grants beyond the interstate there are motels half the price further in town which have seen better days in the last century, suggest staying by the interstate area regardless of where Elvis used to stay. Or pay twice the price at Holiday Inn if you really want to live it up but you'll wake up in the same town. And if you need your car washed then Grants is the place to stop, never seen so many in one town. Worth the stopover to properly see El Malpais and El Morro, impressive confluence of volcanic and sandstone landscapes.
Standard, good, hot Quality Inn breakfast--plentiful food. Good double queen beds. Quiet, spacious room with good lighting on 2nd floor in back. No elevator. Lounge chairs near eating area need a serious cleaning. Slow wifi, antiquated computer in lobby. Parking plentiful. They were short staffed for cleaning upon check in so we had to wait an hour for our room to be prepared so that we could access at 4 PM. Easy checkout.
