As a Choice member was I ever shocked by the property. It really needs renovation and definitely . When we arrived another couple who had checked in left. Ice maker on first floor didn't work. Our room was ok except the refrigerator didn't work, it was replaced and still didn't work. Then there was the air conditioner. It banged all night. Have cool air but how were we to sleep!
The room was neat and tidy. We found the bathroom to be very tight. Internet connection was not obvious. Beds were okay. Poor quality breakfast. Suggest some hard boiled eggs or real oatmeal, not packets.
Stayed here for a total of 3 nights. While essentially clean, the carpet in our room was in need of shampooing. We notified the front desk and our carpet was cleaned the next day. The hotel itself is somewhat worn but well kept. The hot breakfast was most satisfactory. The breakfast area a bit short on tables for the size of the hotel.
We stopped after driving 1300 miles from Alabama. Check In was easy and room was comfortable. Seemed to be a safe location. Breakfast was nothing to brag about but it was ok. We were happy with our stay.
PROS: easy access from I-40, can't hear the trains, room was clean. CONS: billed as a non-smoking hotel but our room smelled like smoke (we were given another room that was smoke-free); when we got in the hot tub we could smell heavy smoke, even over the overly chlorinated water in the hot tub (there was someone smoking inside an employees only room right next to the hot tub and the smoke was coming from under the door); you have to walk outside and to the front of the hotel to get to the breakfast area (not fun in 27 degree weather); the breakfast area is in the lobby and there is no room for more than one person at a time to get items; there is no elevator; the front desk person should know better to put a family with a screaming child (not crying, SCREAMING) late at night (as in, when everyone else is already asleep) in an area that is not away from the bulk of occupied rooms. There were hardly any rooms occupied on the second floor, so why put them on the first floor to wake up the majority of guests? We would never recommend this Comfort Inn and I can't believe this is in the Choice Hotels properties.
The room was OK. A typical hotel room. Others review of this property were a bit scary in their criticisms, but we fared OK. Bed was comfortable. Some updates to the decor, but the facility itself is dated. Breakfast was sort of meager. Eggs were blah and sausage was lukewarm.
And sometimes that's all you need. A place by the freeway to crash, with a good bed, wifi, a couple of restaurants close by, friendly staff and a grocery store so you can stock up on essentials before heading back on the road. It ain't the Ritz, but the place is clean.
from the time of our check in that was absolutely great and swift from the front desk personnel vanessa was outstanding. talk with Dominick that also gave ultimate service to me and my family during our stay for bereavement. It was a beautiful experience to receive such greatness from a different hotel outside of my work place (sleep inn). the only problem i had was of telling the front desk we didn't need housekeeping service for the two day stay and they still came to the door anyways.
Well, as expected at a Comfort Inn, the bed was wonderful. However, there was no wi-if..which I hated, but was prepared to live with....but then the television failed to work....that was a bit much. We did have the maintaince man look at it, and he said it was a connectivity problem. I was not able to get hot water out of the sink. I did in the tub. My complaints were graciously listened to at checkout and I was told the manager would contact me. I am still waiting. The owner needs to give this property some attention. Can't rate breakfast, as the room clock was an hour off due to the time change. I do know it ended at 9, which I think is a bit early foe a Sunday morning. We were just passing through, luckily we both had a good book. My husband said the room had definitely had smokers in the past.
There are several options for hotels in this town and if I had been making the arrangements knowing what I know now, I would choose another hotel. Though the bed was clean and comfortable the remainder of the room lacks some basic functionality that is helpful for business travelers. The rooms need more electrical outlets and outlets that are secure. I worried that the outlet might cause a shorting problem with my computer. I do not understand the ventilation issues at the pool. When I walked in there were water droplets raining down from the ceiling. The ceiling has a lot of mold! This can't be healthy. Otherwise the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fine though it is difficult to serve yourself if there is more than one person trying to access breads and yogurt as the area is quite tight.
