Front desk staff slow and tried to check me in under wrong name (insisting I was wrong too!). Asked during check in and then again night before checkout to have express (pre-authorized) checkout as I had to catch a very early flight - requests were ignored. Bed and pillows were garbage, shower head had no pressure, floor tiles cracked, breakfast items either still partially frozen or burnt, slow useless internet, and my room was next to elevator even there though multiple empty rooms.
The walls were being painted on my floor and I wasn't advised prior to arrival. Terrible smell and room not made up one day.
Nothing to complain about. The breakfast is decent but definitely designed for working guys... very salty, not much fruit.
I had stayed here a couple times before but will not stay here again. The non smoking room stunk of smoke and dog. The pillows on the king bed and not even a regular pillow more like a throw pillow you would find on your couch and we're uncomfortable. Fire doors are not sealed there is a gap at the top and bottom which I am surprised the fire inspection passed this hotel. The bathroom had a long black hair in the tub, not mine! The hallways and stair wells need to be cleaned the walls have holes and need to be washed. This place was built in the boom and you can tell it was just put together from the frame work, dry wall, paint, carpeting etc. I slept with my clothes on top of the bed. This hotel has gone downhill fast. I will not return.
We really enjoyed our stay at Days Inn Grande Prairie. There was friendly service, our room was nice and clean, and there was awesome hot food selection.
A terrible experience. I wanted to stay in a hotel that participates in the Wyndham Rewards program but made a big mistake staying at this days in. It's great if you like grasshoppers and spider your rooms and hallways. The room came with 4 pillows....each measuring a third size of an average pillow. There are way better hotels for the same price in that town.
Even with construction/renovation going on, it was still a nice and quiet stay. Excellent selection of complimentary DVDs. Respectable breakfast as far as hotel breakfasts go. Were able to do an early check-in, which was nice.
Days Inn hotel in Grande Prairie was awful, worst hotel I've ever been to! Given an occupied room, then moved to another room with no blankets on the bed, heat didn't work, stove didn't work, and there was no smoke detector. Staff were atrocious to deal with, and only comped me $30 out of the whole terrible experience. I went to stay at Motel 6 the next night and paid half the price, and it was gorgeous there. Don't be sucked in by this terrible place!
I got in late, was given a room key. Opened my door to find 2 people on one bed and the room a mess. The clerk fought with me saying there is no one in that room. Then offeres me 3 beers, 2 random bottles of water and one can of coke to be happy. I denied all offers and went to my new hotel room. Which smelt of garbage and had the smoke detector ripped from the ceiling. I could go on and on, especially the DIY home repairs that the maintenance guy cleary YouTubed to learn how.
The room was a non smoking room. However the smoke smell was prevalent in the room. There was a very strong cleaning smell in the room.
