Hotel Paradise Lago Taurito - All Inclusive3.0 out of 5.0

I was a little apprehensive after reading the reviews on here, but there was no need. I'm here with my 11 year old son and we really don't want to leave tomorrow! The staff are all very friendly and helpful, they work really hard. The hotel is spotless. The food is really nice for a 3*, plenty to choose from and something to suit all tastes. All sunbeds are reserved very early in the morning which is a shame, although there are signs up saying this is not allowed. You are next to the beach and water park and all rooms have a sea view, what's not to love?! The only thing I wasn't happy about was the €15 per hour charge to use the small football pitch, my son loves football but sadly couldn't play as I couldn't bring myself to pay that. All other hotels we've been to have free access to facilities. The arcade, go karts, mini golf and bowling cost me enough every night! Apart from that, it's been a great holiday and we'll be back 😁
Just come back from a week stay at this hotel. I’ve got to say this place does not deserve some of the really bad reviews it gets, come on people what more do you want from a 3* hotel. Transfers were 45mins there 35mins back suppose we were lucky. 7th floor twin room which was clean yes a little dated but no issues, cleaned 6days a week. Inside hotel and restaurant was nice and clean. Food was ok yes I did find it pretty much the same each day apart from they change the show cooking meats daily, pork was lovely and the crackling. Plenty of fruit and salad variety. Snacks at pool bar are hotdogs, hamburgers, toasties and small tubs of ice creams. Soft drinks and fruit juices are self service. Hotel pool is quite small and people did reserve beds which weren’t removed. If you don’t want to be around pool there is plenty of sunloungers elsewhere. Also pool didn’t get the sun till a little after 11am. Entertainment was mini disco for kids then also a show there was a few professional shows whilst we were there. There is also an inside bar which was nice inside the hotel. We went to the water park pools mostly, yes they are doing building work to half of it there was 4 main slides open and a massive pool area which you can still use. The noise from the work did not bother us and it wasn’t a problem. It’s in a quiet area which we prefer and it has everything you would need on complex supermarket, shop , beach. You can get the bus if you fancy a day out to Puerto Rico, playa de ingles, Morgan. We enjoyed our stay and would probably return.
After reading reviews about this hotel, i have honestly nothing bad to say about it. Its clean, foods nice and not repetative like other hotels ive stayed in. Staff are friendly, and i would say if you want friendly staff be friendly to them. Location is not too bad. The beach is lovelly and even got to swim in it. The only little moani have is the rooms are a bit small, to be fair who sits in a hotel room all day on holiday. Pretty much just sleep and get changed and shower. Bus stop within walking distance, taxi rank is too but if you ask at reception they will get one to pick you up at the hotel. There is some work going on at one of the pools but that is not a problem, other pools are open and so is the sea. Noise levels from this i find are not an issue.
After reading other reviews on this hotel, I was quite reluctant about our stay. We went with 4 children age 5-11,and booked because of the all inclusive and the splash park. After we booked we learned that the splash park was closed due to maintenance. This is not the hotels fault, since it was TUI that did not inform us. But still, it was very loud construction work (jackhammers) from 8am and throughout the day.everyday. The hotel is located in a narrow valley with cliffsides on each side. There is 5-6 hotels on the same place. No supermarket or shops other then the overpriced hotel shops with souvenir crap. No nightlife. (which was good for us,since we like peace and quiet, travellling with children) the road to Mogan is closed permanently, and the bus goes from Mogan to Puerto Rico via the highway. So when we went with the bus to Puerto Rico,we had to take a "special bus" (for free) to Playa Del Cura and then take another bus to our destination. But we had to wait almost an hour in Playa Del Cura, without knowing when the bus arrived or anything. If we knew this,we would stay in Mogan or Puerto Rico instead. The hotel itself is quite old,and in desperate need of an upgrade. everything is really spotless and clean, effecient and amazing cleaning staff. But cracks in the tiles everywhere, and old furniture. The familyrooms are spacious with a big balcony, unfortunately the hotel lies in the shade until around 10am. The beds was very hard, and there was non excisting waterpressure in the shower. You have to bring your own soap, since you just get one tiny small soapbar for each person for the entire stay. Hairblower did not work. You have to pay for wifi and to use the tv. Elevators where very busy, and we used forever to get down to the restaurant or reception. The restaurant was very busy and loud, but that is to be expected when there is a lot of families with small children. Again, the staff working in the restaurant did an amazing job,but we often had to wait for an available table, which is not ok. The food was barely OK. very much of the same everyday, and a lot of the meat was like rubber. Pizza was also disappointing. Softdrinks was extremely watered down, and the juice was disgusting. Beer was OK.The "snack" in the poolbar was horrible, and we ate there only once. Good icecream. But overall, we all found something we liked to eat everyday. What disppointed our children the most, was that it wasn't any playground. It was a sandbox, and that was it. It is minigolf, tennis, bowling and an arcade. but everything is soooo expensive. Example; my kids really wanted to try the trampoline or the inflatable slide.. but we can't afford to pay 5 euro per kid for 5-8 minutes of jumping/sliding.(we have 4 kids) The animation team did a good job entertaining the kids. it was the same show every night, with minidisco, but the younger kids seemed to really enjoy it. animation team was enthusiastic and managed to give the kids a good time.Only I could wish for,was Scandinavian speaking animation team during offseason, since it was almost just norwegian/swedish/danish families there. Kids did not understand anything. The hotel pool is really small. We went there in january, but I can guess it must me super over-crowded in peak season. People reservered sunbeds(which was not allowed) without hotel employees doing anything to prevent it. The hotel is really close to the sandbeach. The outdoor area is really nice, with flowers and cute cats everywhere. All in all, it was an OK vacation, but we're not going back.
My Wife and I have just returned from this good hotel. we stayed for 7 nights the weather was great and the food and the beach location were ideal. Don't make the mistake like we did and bring good evening wear for dinner, the dress code was very very casual , shorts ,track bottoms tee shirts. There was a good selection of food and the rooms were spotless. The bar in the evening was disappointing as soon as you get your last drink at 11pm you are encouraged to leave ASAP as the staff want to lock up as some of the staff are needed to work in the disco bar la Bamba. I like to have a chat and a night cap after 11pm but for those who do this were advised to go to the la bamba nite club regardless if you are in your 50's 60's. Overall we enjoyed our stay in the Lago the staff were all very polite and helpful
First time for us to stay at this kind of hotel.. What a surprise! Huge property spotlessly clean everywhere. Massive rooms and super friendly and patient staff. Mealtimes were a real treat, with an endless selection. We loved our short stay!
We booked this hotel as it had a water park onsite day 2 into the holiday they closed the main part of the park and began construction, as in jack hammers from 8am -6pm daily!! I complained to the manager who offered the change our room and informed me everyone had been emailed in advance. We had not I would have gone somewhere else taurito is a small resort in a cove consisting of about 6 all inclusive hotel there are no bars or restaurants other than the hotels and it was that small that regardless of where you went you could hear thee construction. Aside from that the hotel itself was nice the staff were friendly and helpful and the all inclusive buffet selection was good. The animation team did shows evetynight and they were excellent.
Had a great Christmas holiday here. Christmas dinner was fab. Something for everyone. Waterpark great for all ages. Beach lovely and clean. Staff extremely attentive. Always smiling and making an effort to speak to us. Would defo go back. Plenty to do in surrounding areas, only a walk, bus or taxi ride away.
This hotel is one of a number in a secluded bay which feel's safe and family friendly with many amenties including bowling, crazy golf, water park 9though at present is undergoing refurb from 08/01/2018 til ?) and a beach easily accessed. The hotel is clean and your room is serviced daily except on a Sunday but sadly the rooms and outer back areas are in desperate need of an upgrade and are showing their age, having said that this is only cosmetic and should not bother you as it is still comfortable. The food is plentiful at all meal times and is very nice the only thing we could say it could be a little hotter and though it is difficult to keep food hot in large quantity we felt things could of been warmer than they were. We encountered noisy youngsters either side of us on the first night, however a polite trip to reception and an ask of move to another room solved that problem and left the hotel to sort out any further problems that may have ensued after that night and felt we were treated professionaly and speedily. As most hotels on all inclusive the local drinks were included but premium drinks you had to pay for and with a little try and error we are sure you can a find a local drink that will suit the palet but beware the levels of alcohol served can be at best a bit excessive which may not suit everyone so just ask the barmen for less if required. Overall a very nice holiday.
After reading the mixed reviews here, we didn't know what to expect from this place. But we travelled there three kids (10, 6 and 2 yrs) and an open mind. The hotel is situated in this valley, along with 5 or six other hotels. Everything is so convenient and close by; the fantastic water park, the beach, mini-golf, tennis courts, a few shops and a park. And the best thing; it's traffic-free! We really felt this was the perfect place for a family. It felt safe and quiet. The hotel itself is a standard three-star, not fantastic and luxurious but not really horrible either. Nothing is in disorder, and everywhere is spotlessly clean. Rooms were great, we had a family room and it was actually really nice. Best of all was the food. What a great all-inclusive! So much to choose from, from fantastic healthy salads and fish to pizza, pasta and tacos. We absolutely loved the food and got a great kick-start to our new year healthy eating habits. You can pretty much eat all day at the hotel, although the food in the pool bare is very basic burgers and chips (kids loved it). Hotel pool too small and gets crowded (can't imagine what it's like in high season..!) We went to the water park every morning and had a great time there. It's a good park, with fun slides for all ages. A bit cold in the water (the sea was much warmer!) but heats up during the day. Beach also nice (but a bit dusty - best to stay down by waters edge). Really fun waves and some fun caves for kids to explore. We swam in the sea every afternoon. Evening entertainment good for kids, they loved it. Shame there is no Norwegian (or at least Scandinavian)-speaking kids entertainers there, because I think a lot of Scandinavian kids would love the kids club here. Hotel staff were very friendly and worked really hard. Best I've seen. We will definitely go back (I'm already missing the food). Thanks, Paradise Lago, for a lovely holiday and start to 2018.
