Hotel Riverton4.0 out of 5.0

It was some time ago since I stayed here last time. At that time I was not so convinced about my stay at the Riverton. This time it was better. My room (410) was still small, but the bed is comfortable and the room very silent. Bathroom was better and no problems with the shower this time. Fast wifi. I also have to mention that I enjoyed a nice dinner on the 12th floor....much better than the average hotel food!
The hotel is in a calm, close to the river, and ideal for discovering the city. Unfortunately the carpet of our room was a bit shabby, but the rest was clean. But we got the impression, that the are investing money and renovation the hotel step by step. Must: enjoy the panorama bar and restaurant of the hotel!
Stayed at the Riverton en route from Copenhagen to Oslo. The initial view was a little off putting, as it sits close to the harbour and the outlook isn't the best. The hotel lobby looks dated, but it became clear that the hotel is being refurbished, with a lot of new panelling and work in progress. The room was very comfortable and clean. The meal in the Skybar was excellent, along with the service and atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent. A self service buffet style, with a wide choice of continental style meats, cheeses and fruit, along with hot food options. Overall a pleasant stay and once all of the refurbished work is completed, it will be a very good hotel.
Clean standard hotel, good location close to the city center. Front desk staff is ok, although sometimes not very competent. Bar on 12th floor w/ very nice view but crappy staff: no real bartenders, unattentive, claim that kitchen is closed (20 mins prior to closing time). So, yes, an ok Hotel if you don’t spend much time in it.
location good, food good, and service good. Very clean and comfortable. It's valuable to come back again. It's close to the river, and you can take a walk along the river in good weather. And convenience to go to city center.
Come back from your Meeting, have a great dinner with a view, sleep like a king and have a great breakfirst? Work a bit in between with a quick Internet Access? If thats what you`re looking for, go here. It is also located directly between City Center and Harbor, and the staff is excellent. Really my favourite Hotel in gotenborg and in my personal top 5 anywhere.
The room was clean and everything to make one feel at home were made available.clean toilet and bath.Adequate lights but the room temperature was a bit low.The entire room was good and safe to live in.I think the securty system is good. The environment was calm for one to concentrateon his business.
We had a wonderful stay in the Hotel Riverton. As it is localted a little outside of the city centre it is very calm, but still central enough to walk to a lot of shops within 10 minutes. Great location if you want to walk along the waterfront and take a boat trip. Good restaurants with a very good price level for Sweden are within a walking distance of 5 minutes. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with the best bread I've eaten in Sweden so far. And we even got a fresh breakfast package at 4 o'clock in the morning, as we had to leave very early the last night. When coming back to Gothenburg, I would probably stay in this hotel again.
Not the most pleasant stay as hotel didn't meet expectations: 1. Check in time is after 4 pm which is very inconvenient and I really hoped that they would have room earlier, but neither at 10 am, 2 pm room wasn't ready. We agreed to take a room which had two beds, so we got it around 2:30. You need to plan check in time, I wouldn't choose such late next time as it is nice to refresh in the room after the trip. 2. Spa - the worst thing ever!!! You even cant call it spa! Its a jacuzzi which fits around 8 people and little saunas separate for women and men (max 3-4 people). All equipment is really old, one shower was even broken. To get robe you need to ask in reception as they were not available in our room (economy one). 3. Breakfast was ok, no big difference as mostly all Scandinavian hotels offers buffet breakfast. 4. Sky bar - nice place to have a drink, just it is quite cozy as not so many available seats. According schedule it works till 11 pm only. We left just around 11 so didn't test it :) 5. Very poor lighting in the room and bathroom - struggled to find proper lightning for make up. Overall - i believe that I would be happier to choose another similar hotel in this location (quite few construction works are taking place plus some renovation activities inside).
Arrived to a hotel undergoing renovations, to the lifts, which is all good and well but our room was outdated and dirty. The couch was VERY well used and not comfortable to sit on. The remote held together by tape. The bed was very bouncy. The pillows were like air. And what is it with nearly all hotels having the toilet paper located behind a toilet?! The hall leading to our room was on a lean and there appeared to be water damage to the very spongey carpet. I found the staff to be present but not overly pleasant. The breakfast buffet was decent, so for that I gave an extra point. And a decent location. Overall I found the hotel to not be worthy of its star rating or even its user rating, did I go to an alternate universe hotel?! Anywho, will never go there again, there are better hotels for the same price or less in Gothenburg.
