Check in Room was being cleaned ?as we arrived so got into room within 45min of arriving so that's good.Free WiFi would not connect so asked reception for a bit of help, answer was not our problem heres the phone no YOU have to ring as YOU have to deal with the service provider,3 hours later after many calls to THERE service provider WE got the wi fi connected.which kept dropping out over the 8 days we were there. The Superior room we booked was very disappointing,Dust everywhere I actually got them to come up and re clean the room.Bed was comfy so that's good.Air con it was so noisey we didn't use it even on quite mode it was really loud.Lucky we had ceiling fans so used those. No dishwasher in kitchen but otherwise it was fully equiped.Cupboards etc could do with a good clean inside.Balconies the sun is lost from them early arvo at the time of year we were there.1bed units have bigger balconies than 2 bed units (strange as 2 bed balconies are really small)Swimming pool 1st two days it was really cold but for rest of week it was really warm you have to exit the main front door out side the building to re enter through another gate same for the bar b Q which is on the opposite side of building by tennis courts.Sauna is in the Basement car park area.Even after the 30min suggested warm up it was warmer outside than in the sauna. If you arrive before your room is ready they will look after your luggage it's left in the corner of reception not behind the desk. Its being watched by staff.Rubbish they request YOU take your rubbish to the basement and not leave by garbage chute which is so small you have to hand feed rubbish if YOU don't want to go to basement.Mid week clean they request YOU pack everything away so there is nothing anywhere, seems the management want ME to do a lot of work for them from connecting Wi Fi and helping with cleaning etc. Some good points Great ocean view/location/Foxtel/transport options. We did speak to management about our many concerns (some not listed here)got told and it's not an excuse they should use (quote)we are very busy leading up to the games.A room change MAY have been possible,so what management were maybe suggesting is our room was not a superior room or way would they offer a maybe room change. We stayed in the room first allocated.we were told a discount on the room cost may have been possible (once again suggesting we were not getting what we paid for)but next day told not possible,a meal voucher was offered to a restaurant we would not eat at so gave it to another customer.Over 12 months before we had viewed the room we were in back then it was really nice. But over the following year the rooms std had dropped to a point I'd call it a std room.We feel it's a lucky dip here as to service and rooms. We have stayed at many apartments in Broadbeach so feel this is a fair review,we would not stay at South Pacific Plaza again. We left the room in a spotless condition, kitchen cleaned/cleaned bathroom/stripped the bed etc as I know the cleaners appreciate this. Many of the reviews are positive so if you want take a chance on South Pacific Plaza,Maybe we just struck them on a off week.
This is the fourth time I have stayed at South Pacific Plaza so a review is clearly long overdue! The location in Broadbeach is perfect for those of us who love the Gold Coast but want to steer clear of the crowds and activity in Surfers Paradise, but still have everything you need from the beach to restaurants to entertainment to shopping, nearby. The only thing between the apartment building and the beach is a park so not only is the beach just across the road, most of the ‘superior’ rooms offer uninterrupted ocean views. There are a good variety of restaurants and bars within walking distance to have a meal and relax at, or if you walk a bit further you can visit The Star Casino (formerly Jupiters). The rooms themselves are very clean, well maintained and spacious whether you’re staying in a one or two bedroom apartment. They are also always well stocked with utensils and all you need if you want prepare your own meals – you’ll just need to do your own grocery shopping. Free wifi, Foxtel and an underground car space is also handy! The pool and spa area are also well maintained and tidy. The building casts a shadow on its own pool in the mid afternoon, but for most of the day you’ll have the sun shining on you. And the tennis court is almost always vacant. Importantly the staff that greet you at reception are welcoming and friendly and always will to assist you with anything you need to make your stay more enjoyable. I’ve stayed at more expensive and luxurious apartments on the Gold Coast, but I keep coming back here because the quality is outstanding and the location is perfect. There will no doubt be a fifth time I stay at South Pacific Plaza!
Perfect location, fabulous views, just lovely! Our 2bedroom unit was on the 12 floor, very good size, 2 bathrooms, best of all aircon in both bedrooms and the lounge. Would absolutely stay here again.
The view out of the two rooms we had was the only positive I have about this accomodation. The water pressure in the shower's was terrible, the stove in one room didn't work at all. A number of elderly people recide here and this caused noise complaints during the early afternoon and evening for minimal noise which is ridiculous. If you're going to Broadbeach for a good time don't stay here!!
Clean tidy friendly people great location. will stay there again. Thanks for a great stay. this is a place that you park the car and walk to were ever you want to go. Plenty of food to choose from or just go to woolworths and stay in.
Great location. Opposite the beach, Opposite many restaurants & a little walk to many more. A couple minute walk to Woolies if you choose not eat out. Free car parking underneath. Approx 15-20 minute walk to Pac Fair. If coming from airport, catch the bus to Broadbeach stop then cross the road & walk along the main road until the next trafficlights then walk straight up the walk way.
Great facilities, close to good places to eat, off street parking, beach across road and was patrolled so very safe to swim, maybe resort could offer boogie boards to hire?? Awesome views from room, and cable tv for when weather inclement
Always stay at South Pacific when going down the Coast. It's always a terrific spot, close to all shops, Pubs and clubs and the Casino! The beach is wonderful which is just across the road. The markets are on the first sunday of every month.
We stay here every year. The staff are very obliging and very helpful which is important to us. Close proximity to everything makes it very easy to get around, opposite beach and adjacent to the mall.
Centrally located to everything you need and want in Broadbeach. Stayed in a one bedroom apartment on the 10th floor with ocean and hinterland views. Apartment was very clean and comfortable with a very well equipped kitchen. The pool and heated spa were put to good use but not enough time on this trip to use sauna, tennis courts or BBQ! Would not hesitate to recommend this property and look forward to returning soon.
