South Pacific Plaza

I booked a 5 night stay in a superior (refurbished) 2 bedroom ocean view apartment. I had emailed South Pacific plaza many times to confirm a booking for my husband and myself and our daughter and her husband. My request was simple I wanted a sunny refurbished 2 bedroom apartment. On arrival we were greeted by a very nice receptionist who gave our room details and also very nicely arranged for a 2nd car park for my daughters car. Unfortunately when we got to our room 504 we were disappointed. It was quite dated, the floor was sticky, the lounge was very old and needed replacing (springs were so bad it felt like you were sitting on the floor). The ensuite door was difficult to open and close, the towel rail was hanging by one end and the toilet roll holder fell off every time you used it. The master had a king bed with a sheet and a queen (maybe) cellular blanket there was another blanket in the cupboard which was maybe a double/queen. The 2nd bedroom also had a king bed but again the blanket on there was nowhere near a king size - we actually went out a bought 2 blankets for both the beds. Also the 2nd bedroom plantation blinds were broken and dusty - they stayed shut the whole stay. The 2nd bathroom was quite ok if you don't mind stepping into a bath for a shower, however, the toilet lid wouldn't stay up (annoying for the men in the unit). The balcony and living area was as requested lovely and sunny, however, the balcony is so small that we all couldn't sit out there enjoying the sun which kind of defeated the purpose of the request. 2 maximum can sit out there and enjoy the view and sun! On another note there was window replacement going on above our room the noise was so bad that you could not hear each other speak. I know repairs need to be carried out, however, I think out of courtesy we could have been advised on check in. When I called to ask if we could change rooms I was told the complex was full. On our last night there were night road works - this started at around 9pm and went through until about 5am. When I say night road works I mean directly outside the apartments they ripped the road up and relaid it. Again, this is out of South Pacific plazas control but surely they could have slipped a note under people's doors, emailed people or again advised on check in. Don't get me wrong this place is the perfect location, close to everything you need and the beautiful beach across the road. Will I return?probably if I was guaranteed the room I requested. 3 years between stays and very different reviews. I did email South Pacific plaza with all these issues but to date I have not had a response. My advice to people who are looking to book here is you can't fault this place for location and their facilities are good, however, if/when I return I would be asking for NOT a side unit as the balconies are just too small and insist on a refurbished room. The price we paid for the room we got was disappointing definitely not worthy of a 4.5 star rating. I also note that Natalie wrote a review about the same room in October 2016 with many of the same issues. Although we were happy with the washing machine and dryer.

The location of this hotel could not have been better. Right next to shops and restaurants, across the park to the beach. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The apartment had a big balcony with a view of the sea. The staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities were fabulous. The kitchen was well equipped. The in-room laundry was very convenient. They even provided secure parking for our van, which did not fit in the underground carpark. There were a couple of small maintenance issues that could be attended to in the apartment. Overall it was fabulous. We will definitely stay here again.

Booked a Superior Room, got a room which could not be classified as a Superior. The room is portrayed as being superior but is in original condition ... a coat of paint and new handles on the original kitchen doesn't make this room superior! Also broken vanity tap, couch with springs that jab you, finger marks on walls and doors.... A superior room should be a modern room. Management should ensure that individual rooms are rated to ensure consistency. By not doing this all owners miss out as you have another very poor review and we won't be staying here again!!! We previously stayed here before in a non superior room and didn't have a complaint. We're not the only ones - Refer to review on 13th of April 2017 .... can't agree with Benny more!!!!

i am a regular visitor to the South Pacific usually staying twice a year. The rooms have everything i need including a good kitchen, and a nice balcony so i can hear the surf and there is usually a good breeze. The location is close to things like the light rail, and food shops and pubs. The room is always clean and nice, they keep a good standard. The staff are good and helpful.

Our stay at South Pacific Plaza is always a good one. We have stayed here many times and are always glad to come back. We come to Broadie 3 or 4 times a year, sometimes an extended long weekend, always an extended holiday at Christmas and always at SPP. There is no reason to look anywhere else, the location is perfect, the rooms are roomy, well equipped and always clean. Location is opposite the beach and very easy walking to restaurants, Oasis Shopping Centre and the Kurrawa Surf Club, and the walk to Pacific Fair is not too far either. All the girls at Reception are lovely and very helpful. Sharon is always up for a chat. It is also great for families with a pool, nice BBQ area, and tennis court. For us it is the Perfect Holliday.

We stayed 5 nights. Not our first stay we have been here about 5 times. It is so close to everything, restaurants etc. Rooms are neat and roomy. Views are lovely. Staff very friendly. Parking easy. Pool lovely and clean.

Great location right on mall & easy walk to beach, shops & light rail. Only short trip to Pacific Fair, Surfers Paradise & casino. Once upgrade to Mall & shopping centre will make the area less congested.

Love staying here as it is so close to shops, restaurants and other activities on the Gold Coast. The management are extremely helpful and responsive if there are any issues. Highly recommended place to stay if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Surfers Paradise but be close to everything the Gold Coast has to offer. I will back!!!

Such a well appointed apartment complex which is always well maintained. Friendly staff who are always helpful, especially Jacqueline and Sharon.. love the location being across the road from the park and beach and across from restaurants and Oasis Shopping complex. Will stay no where else when in Broadbeach

My daughter and I stayed here in apartment 804 for a weekend. The apartment had everything we needed. Clean sheets, and towels, a hair dryer and a hair straightener. The kitchen was well equipped also. The location is just great, so close to the beach, shops, restaurants. Less than a 10 minute walk to public transport and the convention centre. The décor of the apartment is a bit dated, but everything was very clean. It was so nice to be able to sit on the balcony and watch the world go by. We would definitely stay here again.
