Walking distance to surfer paradise, also close to bus stop which took us directly to the theme parks Thai restaurant across the road is so good, there is also a roasted chicken shop nearby, where we get our daily breakfast. Comes with kitchen which is a bonus Good service, we requested for a river view room and got it without fuss
Excellent location, price and service. Couldn't ask for anymore! We could easily see the improvements made by the new management and the effort they have put into this accomodation. Thank you, Silverton Apartments! We will definitely be returning.
Room was filthy. Even the bedsheets are dusty. I want to warn everyone for their hidden charges. They charge us 100aud in our credit card because they said they found human waste in our balcony when we left. No way we will do that. It's disgusting. We asked them to send us photos for proof. Do not book this hotel!!!
We have been staying at Silverton Apartments in Surfer's Paradise on and off for more than 15 years and it is fair to say that many aspects of this property have attracted some absolutely terrible reviews over the last few years. Having just stayed there for ten days we can honestly say that things are changing for the better with the appointment of a new caretaker / letting manager. Harvey, Linda and James are friendly and very obliging and in the space of just three weeks have made significant improvements to the property, particularly in relation to cleanliness and presentation. Their hands on management and commitment to an ongoing improvement program can only be of benefit to unit owners and visitors alike and will go a long way to restoring Silverton's reputation as a destination of choice.
Average rooms, but are larger than expected. cost us 50 cents for extra toilet roll? the pool was small didn't really use it much as it was freezing water. but overall the hotel was decent for the price, The location was good and the views were what made it worth my while.
Put on trip advisor We stayed in room 1372 ie 13th floor, room 72. Where do I start?! The reception, pool and grounds were lovely. Chloe at reception was delightful. Th excitement was mounting for us three girls on a three day getaway. THEN we walked into a hellhole. It was THE most disgusting place I've ever stayed at. It was filthy. Mould in the showers, dirty marks on most walls, sunken and worn out lounges, rusted bins in bathrooms, two small cakes of soap for two bathrooms and two nights, no kitchen sink plug, minimal kitchen appliances, rubbish stuffed behind the air conditioning unit on the balcony (with beautiful river views), air conditioner didn't work and it was so hot. Thank goodness there were ceiling fans. Going to bed and my friend and I were in the second bedroom with two single beds on slats and we could feel some of the springs. My friend lay down and the bed collapsed in the middle. Luckily she wasn't hurt. Checking the bed we found four middle slats missing. So the bed was f...ed! Phoned reception - 11.30pm - after hours for emergencies. Had to convince the Operator that it WAS an emergency! A rollaway with a vinyl covered mattress was brought up. We put the bed mattress on top. After complaining we were moved the next morning to another apartment that was very tired looking but cleaner and nicer beds and furniture. We got a refund for the first night. I will NEVER EVER stay in this complex again. In the hallway the air vent near the non air-conditioned lift looked like it hadn't been cleaned for decades. A notice in the basement foyer stated asbestos had been found but was deemed safe. Hmmmmm. The health department should shut this disgusting place down. Once again we are grateful to Cleo for organising the move and for refunding for the first night as she's the manager and not responsible for the condition if rooms. She did mention the cleaners were finishing up next week. Thank goodness! The owners should hang their heads in shame.
The lady at the front desk was lovely and refunded my money in full but the appartments were very old and dated, I booked into this place thinking it was as nice as the photos that were on Booking.com but when I arraived it was totally different :(, there was no ac in the hole apartment, the vanity was falling to bits, the stove top was dirty , the tiles were chipped and it was extreamly HOT, the blinds didn't work, it was just crap, so I told the lovely lady at the front desk and she offered me another unit, this one did have a small ac unit in the lounge but was pretty much the same as the last one so they agreed to refund me my money so I could book another place, so that is what I did ..
I booked 2 nights in what was advertised as a 4 star apartment. Wrong wrong wrong. There has been some attempt at renovation which looks good however there is so much left undone. This would have been ok if the apartment was clean however that was not the case. Dishes were dirty & had to be washed before usage. Dirty fingerprints all over the fridge & walls. Floors dirty. Bench dirty. Numerous items of broken furniture. No airconditioning & the ceiling fans barely spin around to provide any relief. The only good thing about these apartments is its location & proximity to the beach & Cavill Mall but even that isn't enough to make up for a dirty apartment with broken furniture you can't use. See my photos. Just wish I could give it 0 stars.
My friend and her family stayed at this apartment building very recently and I spent time with them there. I holidayed in a number of holiday apartments on the Gold Coast before living here permanently and I can honestly say I have never seen worse holiday apartments ever. My friend, at her request, was moved from her 1st apartment which had filthy exterior windows, showers which, aside from looking highly uninviting, are surely leaking through walls and ceilings to other units, had no air con or fan in 1 bedroom, charity shop furniture with no cohesion or style, blinds with frayed edges and everything brown on brown and dirty. We were scared to walk on the so called carpet without shoes on or use the kitchen. The 2nd apartment was slightly better but still had grubby walls, stained and baggy carpet and bedrooms which look like doss house rooms. I know how hard it is to get unit owners to spend money on upgrades if they're not earning well from their investment apartments but by now these apartments will be virtually unsaleable as is so something will have to change or apartment owners and the management rights owner are going to be losing some serious money, not to mention the holiday makers who are going to be very disappointed and uncomfortable.
OK so I booked through another booking site and their reviews were 6.7/10 and pics looked good then a day before we travelled I read the reviews on here and I was horrified. Couldn't sleep. Then we checked in and I was relieved to find much better than what I read We stayed in 81 & 64 84 - yes a bit smelly but all in all not bad we opened doors to stunning view smell was gone. Is it dated - yes but it's not like you can't live there. And it's spacious. Dirty....well yes there were a spot here & there but still not like you can't just wipe it off (yes I know I shouldn't have to) but it was still in a state that was acceptable and didn't send shivers down your spine. 64 - no aircon but walls were clean floors were neatly and fairly new redone and looks great furniture looks fairly newish but only 1 coach though...no other seating. It looks as if some renovations have started so I'm sure it will eventually get to the bathroom tiles which needs replacing Only 1 chair to sit on on balcony All doors open fans were on and it was actually quite pleasant with the cool fresh breeze Basement was abit smelly but not sickening so not a big negative and besides where else would you put them. All in all I'm sure we will survive without too much issues. To be quite honest I almost feel inclined to say that broken furniture and items in units could very well be due to schoolies shortly before Dec holidays. Can't speak for other units though. Also.... I don't think people should pay the rates they pay in Dec and then expect the Hilton.
