Let me start by saying that we had a great time! We had great service from all the staff we encountered. The breakfast was fantastic (and kids under 2 eat free at the breakfast and dinner buffets). We had cocktails and food by the pool, seafood buffet dinner, lunch in the restaurant and pre dinner drinks in the bar. Everything was great. The room was very spacious and clean although a little dated and tired. The bathroom was beautiful with a massive spa bath. I guess based on its reputation I had high expectations of the resort and I was a little disappointed. I was not disappointed with service and food and drink though!! And the pool area was lovely.
This hotel has a wonderful group of staff, it is five star service in all areas of the hotel and for that the management should be proud of what a great team they have. We had the seafood buffet one night and it was excellent, delicious food, fresh and a large variety to choose from. The hotel room and the hotel exterior could do with a refurbishment, but that didn't ruin our stay. I would recommend staying at this hotel it was a very pleasant place to stay.
My wife and I recently stayed at the Palazzo Versace again for three nights. This hotel is still one of the better 5 star hotels in Australia. No children in tow this time so only required a standard pool view room. The rooms, pools, dining areas are still how they were back when the hotel opened. Great seafood buffet. The underground spas however are no longer operating ? That aside will return to the hotel without a second thought.
Let me start this review by saying how wonderful the staff at the hotel are, super friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We had a lovely time, we got a deal through Luxury Escapes, which was very good value, lots of inclusions, breakfast daily, seafood buffet dinner, a lunch which we didn't end up using but that was our choice as we were out and about. The hotel was spotless, room was spotless, but we asked to be moved as we were overlooking the back of a shopping centre and the bin area. This was done with no fuss at all. However the hotel is looking a little tired now, so probably not quite 5 star .The suites tend to be in almost the worst spots, eg facing the road SeaWorld Dr , or the back of the shopping centre. So maybe think before upgrading. We had a very pleasant time but would probably try somewhere else next time . The shine is a little worn .
Visited Palazzo Versace for 4 nights for a work event. Not really my style as it's very over the top but for those that love their designer brands, you won't be disappointed. The hotel is dated and could certainly do with a refresh. Service was good but nothing exceptional. For example when my colleague and I arrived with quite a lot of luggage for the week long event there was no one outside to greet or assist. The deluxe suite was very spacious and comfortable (especially the bed), featuring 2 bathrooms and a very large spa bath. I'd recommend requesting a room overlooking the pool as opposed to where I was allocated which was overlooking the street and quite a noisy spot. The incredible pool and buffet breakfast are absolutely the highlight! Staff at breakfast were quite slow, one of the mornings my coffee took over 10 minutes to arrive and the following morning it never turned up. Another thing I noticed was that there are absolutely no plugs to charge up your phone near the bed which is important for guests these days. Overall, I wouldn't go back if I had a choice but very happy I got to experience this property.
This was our first time staying here. We travelled with kids, 7 and 10 years old and stayed in the superior suit. Size of the room was good and the main bedroom was able to be closed off from the lounge area allowing for privacy. 2 bathrooms which made life easier. The staff were professional, friendly and all needs were met. The kids loved the pool and enjoyed the extensive buffet breakfast selection. The only small negative was the price for the kids meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) considering they eat nowhere near the amount you pay. But having said that our whole experience was a wonderful one and we would recommend it staying there.
What a beautiful hotel! From the moment you enter it's just beautiful Check in was very fast and efficient and writhing 5 minutes we were in the room The room! Wow! Stunning in every way. We stayed in the suite 419, and it's just beautiful Separate dining area, lounge area and beautiful balcony overlooking the beautiful pool Room service is very fast and the food is amazing Usually stay at the Sofitel but this is far better in every way!
Visited the Palazzo Versace on the Gold Coast as a special getaway with my partner in October. Spent 4 nights here in a harbour view suite. The room was magnificent and the view was to die for. Bed was super comfortable. Ate at both restaurants at the hotel with 5 course degustation with wines at Vanitas which was delicious and then Seafood Buffet at Il Barocco again delicious and a special mention to the dessert buffet - just WOW. Staff were excellent for the most part, however, drink service was a little slow at times. Overall - an experience to remember and recommend.
Got a good deal to stay here so I shouldn't complain.. but what a shame it didn't live up to expectations. Service is sadly lacking . I do not expect to be pointed to an an elevator to find my room in a hotel of this supposed standard. Found it offensive that guests were not allowed to use the glamorous day bed unless the were prepared to pay over $100 on champagne which resulted in all the day beds remaining empty all day and all the other guests huddled into the one area they were allowed which was shady and not particularly attractive. If the hotel was busy I would have understood but to see them empty all day tells me they have got this seriously wrong. Overall just not a pleasant experience. Room ok and spacious. Breafast ok. Didn't eat dinner as no ambiance. Tea area and bar ridiculously expensive and over rated unless you are in to Versace cushions. I am sure Donatella would not stay there.
Spent 4 nights here and it was a disappointment If you decide to book here make sure you avoid the following areas and lower your expectations Firstly the rooms on floor 3 near 313 are adjacent to a lobby area used as a maternity wing of a local hospital. Babies are lovely but didn't expect to spend 4 days on a maternity ward with 3 and 4 day old babies and full nursing teams in a 5 star property Secondly the fixtures and fittings are tired damaged and dirty The floor wasn't vacuumed whilst we stayed so the same dirt and litter was there when we left Thirdly customer service is non existent waiting for tea and coffee at breakfast , get the tea but no cups then chase cups ... tea then cold This level of service was consistently delivered , very poor Fourthly the dress code exists but is enforced randomly so beware you might get asked to leave when others aren't Awkward Fifthly the 5star element is completely lost when the hotel is turned into a tacky trade show at the expenses of guests Half the seating removed for a golf trade event Really poor Don't go Book a Four Seasons or Sofitel or Sheraton or anywhere else When we gave feedback the response was " yes its tired and dated but we will improve it AFTER the Commonwealth Games next year" So you have been warned
