Novotel Surfers Paradise

Booked a Standard room in Novotel Surfer's Paradise during the Queen's Birthday long weekend. It was actually cheaper compared to other rooms we have stayed in Melbourne, Canberra, and Sydney so was thinking there must be a reason for it. Here's what I found out... Pros: -You can have a good view of Surfer's Paradise if you are booked in the top floors. We were on the 9th floor facing the beach and only the ocean is visible. Room has balcony. -Room is clean and very spacious. Carpet is old as well but clean. King-sized bed. -Accommodation includes buffet breakfast. Food was OK. -Location is perfect and you are right in the middle of where the action is. Very close to the beach, shopping centres, restaurants, Cavill Avenue Light Rail Station, bus terminal along Beach Road, and other attractions in Surfer's Paradise. -Wifi is for free. -You can ask for a late checkout. Checkout time is 10AM but we left at 12nn. Cons -Rooms are dated. That old room smell greets you right away once you enter. -Not enough natural light in the room. Not enough lighting at night as well. -Mini-fridge is old. -Shower door not enough to stop water from being sprayed all over the bathroom floor Overall, I would rate the room good enough considering its location and the fact that we paid $126 per night only. However, management should consider renovation works on the hotel in the immediate future.

Being Accor plus members, we got an upgraded room with fantastic views. The food was sensational, the service was great. The staff in the resturant and the bar down stairs were really good. Overall a great two night stay, nothing is to much trouvble, great to see a novatel in surfers paradise.

I'm only basing my experience on the fact that I had recently stayed at the Novotel in Wollongong which was immaculate and incredibly beautiful and unfortunately this Novotel is very out dated. The rooms are very small. The furniture is super old. Lighting is not very good. The shower has mould on the walls. There was paint stains on the tiles. Carpet was old and dirty. The food is nice but definitely over priced. The staff were all super friendly and nil issues there. Location is amazing and walking distance to everything. We were up very high but on our first night there was a cockroach in the bathroom. The hotel definitely needs a huge makeover and to make their meal prices a little cheaper. I only booked this Novotel in hope it was going to be exactly the same as the one in Wollongong but it wasn't. Disappointed that this hotel had no mini bar in room.

Had a lovely stay at Surfers Paradise ,Staff were pleasant ,Room was great and the location is so convenient with the tram stop at a few hundred metres away lots of food outlets close by.Thankyou Accor!

We stayed here and were utterly dissatisfied. Firstly, a $200 cash/ $100 credit card bond is required on check in. Being a young couple, this was my entire spendings for the weekend. This was not stated anywhere prior to arrival. Secondly, for the price per night, the rooms are small. Having the "kitchen facility" a fridge and jug right, next to the bathroom and directly across from that is the bathroom vanity. I found this layout extremely odd and not very appealing. Thirdly, having a shower proved difficult as well since the shower/bathtub barely has a door which sprayed water all over the bathroom floor. Lastly, after breakfast, I tried to call room service to collect the plates but after 5 minutes there was no answer, later that night after a mediocre dinner at the restaurant, I was still hungry and tried to order room service but yet again, no answer after calling 5 times. Staff were friendly but also made me feel quite out of place and almost lower class. Also had to pay for parking however this came as no shock being in a largely populated area. All round, I will not be returning and will most probably not stay here again which is disappointing.

Great stay. Only complaint was the weather and the Novotel had no control of that. Service was great from checkin to checkout. Geoff. Outstanding service. Thank you for making checkout seamless and easy.

Staff were friendly. Breakfast buffet very good. Rooms need refurbishment and bed was like sleeping on a rock. Every other Novatel we have stayed at has has great comfy beds except surfers paradise. Bathroom was pretty rough.

We stayed for 2 days and found the hotel to be good. The staffs were very helpful. We came early but were helped with an early check in. Rooms are smaller than expected but since we had an ocean view balcony the same made it up. One sore area - the breakfast was not great as had a limited spread. On egss the variety were none.

We were offered an upgrade on arrival, at a discounted rate, for a room on the 30th floor overlooking the beach. The room had been refurbished, the bed was quite firm and the shower had poor pressure but otherwise very nice. The buffet breakfast was pretty average, but the staff were friendly and helpful

such an improvement on my previous stay would fully now recommend as staff seem more into pleasing guests I had a slight problem with getting on line with wifi this was late at night on checking in my full thanks to LUCY who is assistant manager it was eventually traced to the box on that floor and she changed me to another floor Well Done LUCY
