We stayed in Kirra beach apartments from 12th-30th October and enjoyed every second. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Clean rooms. Sue and Dean were fab. So friendly and helpful. The room we had (606) was just perfect. Clean. Roomy. Absolutey amazing ocean view as we requested. The pool is big with a nice Jacuzzi too. Felt very at home here and did not want to leave. Would reccomend this hotel to anyone who is thinking of visiting Australia. We will definately be returning in the future.
We stayed one night in a great 2 bedroom apartment. Pool was a good size. The aftrenoon sun was great, kept the aprtment warm. Walking distance to some great restaurants. Parking was easy. Quiet location.
Firstly, a disclaimer. I have stayed here every year since 2013. Mostly it has been in different apartments. However, they have all been laid out in a similar fashion. The Apartment block is ideally situated across from the beach and is only a very short walk away. The apartments have everything that is needed for a short, or extended stay. Undercover parking takes care of the car and public transport is so good that, unless necessary, that’s where the car should stay. The balcony’s all look to the ocean and receive sun, if not all then for most of the day. There are some strict rules on behaviour, but then why not? Recommended.
Great veiw. Great walking tracks. Nice stroll into Coolangatta. Apartment was good and comfortable and suited our needs very well. We enjoyed our stay and would be happy to stay at Kirra Beach Apartments again.
Walking distance to surf clubs at Kirra and Coolangatta. Great surf out the front of the hotel and to the south. Very big apartment with plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 kids. Great gelato just across the road.
Lovely view, quality & spacious penthouse. Privacy, spa, facilities. Just walking distance from great restaurants for brekky , lunch, dinner. Watched surf break on Kirra beach & views that span to Surfers Paradise. Stayed in eastern penthouse. Great rate for 2+ night stay
We arrived after the office hours on a Saturday, so didn't get to see the owners apart from dropping off the keys on our departure. The arrival procedure for collecting the keys and parking the car after arrival is super-easy and care-free. The apartments are clean and comfortable with a small kitchen. We had a one bedroom apartment on the 4th floor which had a beautiful view across to the beach. Kirra beach is really one of the world's best beaches as far as I'm concerned and the environment down this end of the coast is a thousand times better than Surfers Paradise (and you get free undercover parking which you never get in Surfers Paradise with your accommodation). The apartments are great value. There is a good burger place and a good quality gelato place within 30 metres of the apartments and it is only a 15 minute walk along the gorgeous oceanfront walk to Coolangatta for a Woolworths, Aldi and many other dining options. Just a couple of things stopped me giving it five stars - there was not one single coat hanger for clothes in the walk in wardrobe. I realise it is an apartment and not a hotel but we have stayed in apartments all around the word and they generally always have clothes hangers in them. I could not get the free wifi (nor my Telstra Air wifi) to work the whole 2 days that I was here (just kept spinning around and couldn't actually access any pages). I ended up using my phone plan wifi. Other than those tiny things, this is a great value place and we would definitely stay here again.
This place has everything! We stayed on the 3rd floor and has an amazing beach view and also you can see surfer paradise in the distance. Everything is so close. We have stayed in surfers paradise before but we will definitely be staying back here when we next come. We are here for 8 nights and wish we were here for longer.
Highly recommend. Paid about $130 Canadian dollars/night and it was very good value. I would stay again. My room was on the fourth floor, facing the beach to the east, so I could see over the 7-11 that anchors a mini-mall. That mall has a pizzeria, cafe (with unlimited wifi) and it has other amenities, such as a newspaper store. A bottle shop is a short walk away. I was wary about the fact that I was arriving on a Saturday and the front desk closes at noon. Fortunately, my trip from Surfers Paradise was short enough by bus that I got there in time and did not have to navigate a key-drop system. Buses run regularly on the road between the 7-11 and the beach so it is very accessible by transit. When I arrived for my five-night stay, Dean was cleaning the windows of the sliding door in my room so that was a nice touch. That was the only time I saw the owners, Dean and Sue. The hotel is scarcely 100 metres to the beach so it is a good location. I loved the balcony, of my room - a giant circular balcony. It had a view over the 7-11 to the ocean toward the east. To the north, you can see in the distance the Surfers Paradise towers. And, significantly, you can look to the west to see the sun set over rolling hills. I love sunsets and one disappointment on the east coast of Australia is that it can be hard to find a good spot to see the sunset. My room was a great place to be at sunset. One negative was that the wifi is limited. It is the way it often is in Australia, strangely limited by megabytes and not unlimited as wifi usually is in North America or Asia. So, don’t plan to stream Netflix. The room itself has a TV with some extra movie channels. Kitchen had oven and microwave as well as utensils. A second bathroom has a washer and dryer and a sign telling you not to use the toilet or shower because there is a different bathroom for that. Bed was comfortable. They expect you to take all garbage to the chute before you go and for you to take glass to the downstairs parking garage to recycle. I asked Sue about where to go to rent a bike and she suggested a place along the road to the north. Don’t do that. I went there and agreed to a bike (without seeing it) and then realized that it had rusted brakes and it froze before I finished my trip. Fortunately I was not that far away. It is likely better to go to Coolangatta, near the visitors centre, to rent a bike although I didn’t actually rent bikes there so I can’t vouch for their service. I just looked inside the shop. It is surprising that there are not more bike-rental places near Kirra Beach as that is a service that is lacking. Hello entrepreneurs … The Kirra Beach Apartments had a pool that is OK. The hotel is a nice escape from the busyness of Surfers Paradise and is also quieter from Coolangatta itself so I would not hesitate to stay there again.
Lovely view from the balcony. Generous living space. Comfortable bathroom & bedroom. Kitchen large enough for simple catering. Pool & spa both very nice. Also has a public BBQ. Location is fantastic. Very close to patrolled beaches, walking paths & public toilet. Also very close to cafes, restaurants & basic shops. Not close to a supermarket (15 minute walk away).
