We stayed here for one night as a little get away for an early Valentine's stay. Really well looked after, the staff are fantastic, friendly and extremely helpful in all areas. The breakfast buffet had all sorts of delicious food and barista made coffee's, All of which tasted fantastic! Thanks again and we look forward to staying here again!
Service was professional and friendly (special mention to the wonderful Christine), hotel was very well maintained, rooms tidy and comfortable. In a great location with some lovely restaurants in the hotel, there is nothing I could fault about our stay here. Loved this place and would definitely return!
Really enjoyed our overnight stay. Clean room, king bed, great hinterland view, blockout curtains, very large tv. Mini bar still has some space for a few of own things -just remember to take them when you go. Very comfortable bed & pillows. On arrival there were 2 bottles still water in the counter, with a tag that we thought indicated it was complimentary water (including thanking us for staying there). Turns out we were charged $14 for them, as a minibar item. So not complimentary at all. However to their credit, Sofitel did refund the charge because of the misunderstanding. Self parking available for $15/day- which covered us from 9am till 5pm the next day. So good value. All the staff we encountered, at reception and breakfast, were very friendly and helpful. Could not find a usb port in the room, not even in the tv. That would have been helpful, but not essential. Noticed that there was a universal international power adapter for use in the room, along with iron and folding board, hairdryer, tea/coffee making, slip-ons and towelling bathrobes, all necessary toiletries and tissues, showercap. Roomy bathroom with separate shower and bath.
This hotel may be branded a Sofitel but I didn't find the overall standard to be any better than a Novotel (if that). It does not compare to any other Sofitel and I could even say that is is on par with the Mantra Resort around the corner (I wish I was joking). Service was ok - not the usual Sofitel standard - I had more attentive service at an Ibis that I got stuck with in NSW last year. I booked two rooms for this family trip and, though they were clean and lovely, even the ocean view is obstructed by other buildings...
I found the staff here super friendly for a start. Parking is $15 per day which isn't bad I suppose. The breakfast buffet was really great - so 5 stars for that. I HATE complaining, so I'm aware that my expectations are only mine and that others would be delighted with this hotel, so I'll just be real. The room was smelly. Not like it had been smoked in, but like an old man's drawers. Just stale and smelly. The bed was super comfy and the curtains had full blackout in a super bright environment which is great. The amenities were ok - except the hairdryer didn't have a nozzle. It was a little tired and a bit uninspiring to be honest. Great location - great pool. The gym is a joke. Seriously I don't feel bad commenting on the gym. It was so small I had to leave the room to change my mind! No points for that. If you're going there to be close to the convention centre - it's perfect. It's very family friendly and not as noisy as the centre of the GC. Views from either side of the building provide either hinterland or ocean - both are just gorgeous. I think it's great for it's price range - but I'd prefer the Marriott Gold Coast as a holiday or getaway to be honest, but it would depend on your budget and purpose of visit. Hope that helps some peeps !
Very nice hotel in broadbeach. Close to the surf, casino across main road, restaurants and cafes on your door step. Rooms were lovely. Bed was comfortably. Only downside is you have to pay for carparking.
clean hotel, except for the wine glass in my room it had lip stick on it, rooms only have the basics like a kettle & a tiny fridge, you have to pay extra for parking, most of the other hotels include parking in stay, staff are very friendly
This is a Sofitel, a top class hotel in the Accor stable. The king bed and pillows on the menu we thought were very comfortable and we slept well, we tried a few different pillows from the menu. Reception and checkin was perfect, and the staff friendly and professional. This hotel is so convenient, its just a 7 minute walk to the Star Casino, a few minutes walk to the beach, with hotels, loads of eateries and a supermarket a few minutes away. The meals were excellent, and as usual the breakfast buffet was brilliant like it always is at Accor Hotels. I must mention Gavin the Manger at Bistro On 3 Restaurant, he was an absolute professional, and his service was maybe one of the best i have experienced at Accor in Australia.
This hotel needs to revisit their claim to Superior bedding, pillows were either to soft or too hard, mattress extremely lumpy and uncomfortable and the portable cot was too hard for the baby to sleep on. The other issue is the hotel is facing east so the full sun in the AM makes the windows so hot you can’t even touch the glazing - hazard for babies, they really need to be tinted. The balcony balustrade is also too low (I’m sure it doesn’t meet code) therefore too dangerous for anyone let alone children to go out onto. Given the nightly rate and being a Sofitel we really had high expectations but feel let down. Not as good as other locations. Im sure Sofitel took over this existing building but it really needs to spend some money to bring it up to a better standard for this location.
I stayed here as part of a work conference for five nights. My room on the 16th floor was clean and very modern, the bed was very comfortable. As part of the conference every day we had breakfast and lunch at the restaurant which was a buffet style meal. The choice of food options was excellent and there was a great variety of healthy options including vegetarian and vegan. I didn't use the pool or the gym myself but my colleagues did and they said both were excellent.
