Staying on 25th floor great views and centrally located in an apartment that hasn’t had any maintenance for years. No light bulbs in bedside lamps, no lounge to lounge on just 2 arm chairs, power points not working, all taps leaking water and a tv screen smaller than my PC screen. Paying premium $$$
Excellent location, close to shops. Rooms are different to website photos, old run down rooms. Not well equipted with sponges, cooking utensils etc. Ok for an overnight stay not for a family holidays as small rooms.
I selected this property through AirBnB. My main reason for selecting the property was the location. Being familiar with Surfers Paradise, I loved the fact that Beachcomber was one block from the beach and one block from the pedestrian mall where most of the eateries and other activities are located. The photos made the property look modern and well kept, which was a plus. However, the photos did not show the current state of the property. The unit I rented (1506) is privately owned. When entering the unit I immediately noticed the unit looked very worn. Besides needing a paint job, the carpeting was worn and frayed at the edges. The light over the bed was out. The kitchen clock wasn't working. The bathroom had mold and the tub/shower was chipped in a few places. The TV was damaged. The next morning I went over to the realtor and gave them an itemized list of issues. I give them a lot of credit for fixing the TV, clock and light within a few short hours. However, it should not have been my responsibility to alert them to the unit's problems. I thought the problems were limited to the privately owned unit until I went to the pool. Some of the lounge chairs were broken. And some had tears in the cushions. But most concerning was the single railing to hold on to when entering and leaving the pool was very loose. The cement where the pole is attached was completely cracked. It's an accident waiting to happen. The glass sliding door in the unit was very difficult to open and close. While I loved the location, I wouldn't recommend staying at this property.
hi my name is michael and from what i have read on this site about this hotel, those people that bagged it need to have their head read, i stayed there for 6 days from 6-3-18 till 10-3-18 and cannot fault the place for cleanliness, parking ,the pool, staff, the unit i had was 2505 so clean and had eveything you need. what do you want the targ mahal or something for the price you pay to stay 1 street away from the centre of surfers
Absolutely disgusting. Our bed mattress had massive blood and urine stains. The bed didnt even have a blanket it was just a few sheets chucked on the bed. The hotel hallways stunk like urine and smoke and the apartment was old and crusty. I am not a pick person as I have stayed in hostels and 1 star places but this place is the worst I have ever stayed by far. If you book your stay through an other site other than beachcombers website itself it is likely you are going to be staying at an apartment owned by someone else. Therefore if there is anything wrong with the apartment you stay in beachcomber will not help you at all. I would never stay here again even if people paid me too. We never complained about anything because whilst staying here we read reviews online about people complaining about this place and not receiving their deposit back. Oh and if you are going to stay here PAY YOUR DEPOSIT IN CASH that way you get in the day you leave. If you pay via credit/debit card they will hold your money for around 30 days.
Arrived & was given a room which smelt like a old Hotel bar smoke & stale smell old furniture, ran to the lift & went to the reception was given another room which smelt better but thought I was visiting grannies house in 1969 furniture looked like it had been collected from the local street clean up, no phone, no radio my Computer monitor was bigger than their tv any way my self & my wife were tired so we had a good night sleep waking up thinking well we can go to the dining room & have breakfast which was part of our deal, we proceded down stairs & was told that the breaky was served up in some arcade just up the road so we sprinted as it was pouring rain & found ourselves sitting outside a small food shop flanked by a massage parlour & a tatoo shop & the best was we had to pay extra for a cup of coffee, well in summing up we had 2 stays in one THE FIRST & THE LAST.ps forgot the broken toilet seat.
Recently spent 4 nights at this disgusting hovel. To be fair the price was very cheap at the time. However, upon checking in there was no air conditioning in the foyer as this was under refurbishment and there were three lifts with only 1 working which meant coming or going you would have to wait approximately 10-15 minutes. It gets worse...the room was old and had this vile smell, the lounge had stains all over it, forcing me to sit on the chair or put a cover over the lounge. The only good feature was the view from my room and the location. Booking.com made no mention of how bad this hotel is.
Do yourself a favour and don't stay here. To be clear, I'm not picky -all I really was after was a clean bed, a shower and a toilet. But staying here was a joke. Our first surprise came when we went downstairs after our first night and asked if we could have more toilet paper for the room. We were told they 'kindly' provide you one (ONE) 'complimentary toilet paper roll, and additional rolls could be purchased for $2 each at reception. What establishment doesn't provide you with toilet paper??? The attitude of the staff was a disgrace, they obviously didn't care and acted inconvenienced when any questions were asked. The $200 holding deposit (and lets be clear, I could have sold everything in that unkempt 70's hotel room and still not made $200) doesn't get returned to you for 30days which is fairly ridiculous. And the reception seems to be staffed till they cant be bothered anymore and go home (before 3pm). The elevators (if they came at all) will trap you, so be prepared for that too. The Breakfast was the next shocker and is provided offside in an arcade down the road between tattoo parlours and some shady massage place. The Café staff even were cleaning up old tattoo gloves as we arrived and breakfast is one piece of toast, a ration of bacon and egg and was so dismal that we ate out each other morning after. Rude Staff. Room was run down. Don't get your holding deposit back for 30days (and they don't freeze the money, they actually draw it down and then refund you?). Ridiculous they call themselves a resort. Would rather sleep in my rental car than ever stay here again! Only saving grace was the location. Never again.
We stayed for a week, the pricing was very affordable & is located in the heart of surfers Paradise its one street off Cavill Avenue & is A 50 meter walk to the beach. The hotel staff is super friendly & helpful. The rooms are quite outdated but the hotel is undergoing new renovations
I booked this room through Surfers International Realty and Booking.com. The air conditioner was a rust bucket and had to be turned off as it was making loud noises. I couldn't get the tv to work at all. The cupboards were hanging off the hinges. The curtains were disgusting the windows were filthy. Most definitely will not be staying here again.
