The Bay of Palms is in a great location, across the road from the Pines Shopping Centre. The staff were very nice, the pool area was lovely. The thing that let the resort down was the cleanliness of the room. The room was dirty, dusty, mouldy, unclean. I don't mind staying at budget accommodation as long as it is clean. The fan extractor was packed with dust, the curtains were filthy, window sills were covered in dirt and mould, the bathroom was in desperate need of a good clean. There was a big gap at the bottom of the door that went to the next room meaning you could hear everything going on there (this could be easily fixed). The security windows were hard to lock, they were so old one window I couldn't lock - the front door was hard to open and shut, twice I got stuck and had to get my partner to come and jimmy the door to get in. The rooms are quite run down and in need of attention and the door to the room needs to be fixed.
For a cheap place to stay only 30 minutes from the theme parks, five minutes to Currumbin wildlife park and a short walk to an excellent beach, makes this accomodation well worth while. Added is the shopping centre 2 minutes walk away and most rooms have full cooking facilities. The staff are super friendly and the pool and spa is wonderful.
The rooms here need an update, very tired looking. The smell of air freshener / deodoriser was overwhelming when we opened the door to the apt, putting us off immediately. Some of the tap & power switch fittings were in need of repair. The floors are all tiled, perfect for summer, but a floor rug in winter would have been nice. On the plus side, the pool area looks pleasant .
this place is awesome and is real vaue for money and location, mall right at gate, the rooms are very roomy and very well catered for,bed comfy.Sadly i lost my husband suddenly on our return which i am finding very hard after 12 days here in paradise i will return next year
This lovely place is in real need of TLC. The shower screen was black from mould. The room and kitchenette are clean but have seen better days. While I don't mind the fact that nobody is at reception comes a certain time, and the key is available inside a safe, reception hours are quite short that you might actually never see anyone from the "resort".
We chose that resort to stay because by them my aunt was living there so we could be close to her and experience a local life. Close to The Pines, which is a great mall where you can find supermarkets, pharmacies and coffee places.
Good location, very close to Currumbin RSL and large shopping centre only a couple of hundred metres away. Very nice one bedroom second floor apartment overlooking lake. Very clean and modern. Bed very comfortable. Only gripe is that the ceiling fan in bedroom was a bit noisy some of the time. The gardens around the resort and pool area could do with a spruce up. They are looking a bit neglected.
Perfectly comfortable and very well located. All facilities were clean and the pool was pristine. The staff were amazing and I plan on staying here again. The shower had the best water pressure. Everything about our stay was wonderful. There's a very nice little bar area and the BBQ area is fantastic. Right by the water, shops and highway. Very family friendly! Thanks Jake. Can't wait to come back!
