I cannot explain how awful my experience has been dealing with Aruba Beach Resort. I feel aggrieved having to pay this property for such a bad experience. I would not encourage anyone to book there. The customer service level was completely absent, I have expressed my concerns but have had absolutely no response from them. I have also followed up with Booking.com who explained they have contacted the resort and also have had no constructive response. I would not normally complain but felt I had no alternative in this case.
Pros - Good location, close to beach, bars and food. Cons - multi story building site next door which wasnt mentioned, hassle and $40 charge to change room to quiet side of building. Fridge froze all our food and drinks. Used the washing machine day before we left. Drier doesnt work with no warning, wet clothes in a suitcase is not ideal and will probably cost money for overweight baggage.
Is resort is no clean bed is very hard bathroom in the shower is mouldy.no hair dry in room have to ask. I think price is too much for what u get . Good location. That’s all that good .And they still take a 200 deposit on checking in.we were on the 3rd floor a bit hard to get bags up but we did it .
Bed linen was dirty, pillows stained yellow, unit was dirty and smelled of cigarette smoke. Photos shown are not a true representation of the property. They were rude and unhelpful, and refused to follow their own refund policy. Disgusting place.
Room was ok. It has all u need. It just needs a makeover and a good clean. These units would be really nice with a fresh lick of paint. Location is excellent and price was good. Pacific fair is 15 mins away. Casino 5 mins and you can get a free shuttle from Sofitel to Pacific Fair, timetable on the hotel website. Restaurants are close by and Uber eats is fantastic. Woolworths is down the road. We didn’t use the pool as the beach is 2mins away but it looked nice. If you want something bright and very clinical like a hotel then I would say this place is not for u. But if u like having your own space, no cleaners coming in each day and a reasonable price then I would suggest this place.
Just a short walk to restaurants etc. and the Oasis Shopping Centre. Also close to Kurrawa Beach. Checking in is easy and the underground car park is easily accessible. Rooms are pretty standard for a lot of the older resorts on the Gold Coast. Bed was comfortable but the blind on the east facing window is pretty inadequate. We were in Room 28 and the small air conditioner didn't seem to be up to the task and we had to have the small fan going flat out in the bedroom which was not great because it made a noise like a plane engine. The pool, though small, was just the right temperature as was the spa.
Location is excellent, but is not enough for a return visit. Size of apartment was good. Pool area looked nice, but did not try during our short stay. Too many reasons that outweigh the positives above - mould in bathroom, hair on shower frame, and broken shelf [with mould behind double sided tape] in shower unacceptable; toilet system needs replacing. Internal doors damaged to bare timber - need maintenance. Basic cleaning done only, but complete unit clean was desperately needed [eg toilet roll holder was filthy]. No garden view as advertised, unless you count a couple of palm trees on the fenceline [not a garden] and surrounded by other buildings. Uncomfortable pillows. Hair on dirty kettle base. Inaccurate information regarding parking [limited, and first in gets the spot, not 'Free private parking is possible on site (reservation is not needed']. If all parking spaces are taken, you need to find street parking [limited due to construction behind units]. Restaurant discount vouchers include a restaurant that is no longer there, but Reception was not aware of this, even though she could see it from her window and argued that it was open, until another guest came to reception, and confirmed that it was closed. Reception open limited hours - especially during school holidays - check in on Saturday is 2pm, but Reception closes at 12 noon - after hours key collection does not include voucher for discounts at restaurants, or internet access - good service would be to include with keys if arrival is out of reception hours. Very noisy during the night [3am] with other occupants walking up and down stairs on noisy tiles, and banging doors when closing. Budget accommodation at best, would not recommend.
Older accommodation in central broadbeach room was up 3 flights of stairs but was clean larger than n average with toaster, microwave and kettle and ok for a couple of nights.Staff were competant and check-in was simple .No on site facilities except pool despite the usual aussie claim defining this as a resorI fail to understand why australians accept high prices, minimal service as being normal.if you like the smaller resorts in a good location then this is the place for you
We stayed 8 nights at the Aruba Beach Resort and could not have been more pleased with the result. The office and management could not have been more helpful and were very pleasant people. Our accommodation was all you could wish for. Air conditioning....very good,TV....some Foxtel.Refrigerator, Washing machine, Dryer etc. The location is so close to the restaurants, the Oasis and within walking distance of Pacific Fair. There are bus stops each side the road outside the Aruba Beach where bus services take you to Surfers, Sea World and the Gold Coast Theme Parks also to Pacific Fair and all points South. I certainly have no hesitation in recommending Aruba Beach Resort.
Stayed for 3 nights, wish it was longer. Great affordable accommodation , very clean , air conditioned, good size apartments and walking distance to great restaurants, the beach and the GC convention centre. But the winner was Serena, the on site manager. She was cheerful, helpful and very accomodating with our requests. Second time we have stayed here and will definitely be back
