We started here for 3 days. Nice hotel but more for business people rather than families. Was clean but could with a referb. The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. A buffet with a variety of different things to choose from. The pool and gym section was clean. We really enjoyed our stay.
I thought my sleep quality was pretty good. I could not hear any noises from outside (my room faced on the 2nd floor faced the tennis courts) or sounds from any other room. During all of the 2 weeks I was there I had no problems, and the cleaning service was very respectful with anything I left lying around. However, I noticed they hardly spwept/hoovered the bathroom/carpet, if they did at all. The shower could do with a little bit more of pressure. Breakfast was quite ideal. Pretty much all you can think of. Although I thought that the quality of most of the already cut fruit (water-melon, melon, oranges, etc) was clearly substandard. Some of it (some days) tasted really bad. Food in the restaurant (lunch or dinner) wasn't very good either, in my opinion, so after giving it a couple of tries I decided to lunch and dine elsewhere every day. Wifi was pretty good, hassle free and grreat coverage everywhere. My room rate included parking and entrance to wealth center, which was small but quite nice and convenient.
Only an overnight stay as part of celebrations for my mother's 97 birthday. Excellent value when booked in advance, good buffet breakfast and very comfortable beds. Rooms clean and modern but the shower a bit of a challenge. Noisy emptying of bottles etc late at night outside room only real negative. Honest staff who found and reported my iPad which I accidentally left in the room. Posted same day and with me less than 24 hours later
A very pleasant stay - hassle free check-in and check out and clean rooms. Breakfast offerings was good - replenished items very often. The only thing I would say is the lifts were tiny - luckily we had a compact buggy.
Awful, would not go back. I am staying in Exeter again this year from 22nd May until end of August, I have reserved elsewhere as will not tolerate this poor service from Jurys. Awful sleep quality due to too much noise in the room from the hallway and neighbouring room, woken up every time a tap was turned on in the next room. The main job of a hotel is to provide good quality sleep, and on this essential factor, this hotel failed miserably, hence the lowest possible score. Furthermore, I was unable to set up an account to charge food and drink to the room because you don't accept debit cards, only credit cards??? What a nonsense, like many other business travellers, I only have a debit card for my business account. This was never an issue last year when I spent several weeks at Jurys Exeter, but it does mean I will not be booking business travel with Jurys again until this is fixed. Another problem: at check-out I asked for the invoice to be emailed to me, this has yet to be received Another: I still haven't seen the loyalty club points added for the food and drink spend, which your bar staff where eventually able to have charged to the room and paid on check-out, so well done to the bar staff, big thumbs down to the check-in staff for being unable to do so. Wi-fi: was so slow and poor that I turned it off and resorted to mobile 4G. Waste of time offering such a poor service free of charge. Value for money: it was free on loyalty points, so difficult to argue against value for money, but frankly, I'd rather pay for room in which I can actually sleep than have a free room that left me exhausted. Bathroom: broken floor tile, surplus grout all over tiles Swimming pool: we were going to make use of the swimming pool at the hotel, until we got to the entrance lobby to read a notice telling us this would cost us £10 EACH for the day. So, another let down, and a charge not mentioned anywhere else, not in the information in the room nor on your website, utterly disgraceful.
Unimpressive old 1970s hotel, poor from outside near a main road. Inside had been refurbished but still the feel of no luxury and an airport lounge. Undertrained bar staff and limited menu. Bathrooms outdated and hot water fixed temp for shower which is too cold. What out for large groups of tourists at 6 am making noise.
We booked for our wedding guests to stay two nights at this hotel, we were served by Charlene. Customer service was good. They gave us rooms on the same floor for convenience - something we weren't expecting but it was a nice touch. As the bride, I had an early morning start at 6 am - i was able to have breakfast taken to my room to get ready with my bridal party without any fuss from staff. Rooms were clean and food was good. Only complaint was that food at dinner took a really long time to get to us once we ordered it.
Definite recommend for budget Cheltenham stay. Great customer service, comfortable room, super clean room. Pool was decent size and shared steam room was nice after swim. Brekkie better than you'd expect, and they'll whipped some veggie sausages on request, no probs, no extra cost.
We were all accommodated on the same floor which was great for us to get ready for my daughter's wedding. We had to be up early and the staff was there with us and for us!! Thanks for a wonderful experience!!!
Liked my room on the second floor as walls aren't sound proof. Rooms are spacious and well decorated. large bathroom, soft towels. Staff can't do enough for you. Easy location to motorway and short drive to the center.
