I Stayed here while waiting for my apartment to be ready, the front desk was extremely friendly, and meet all my needs! The rooms were clean, beds we're comfortable! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for decent prices!
I stayed at this hotel on the Tuesday night before Thanksgiving- I was traveling from central North Carolina to Syracuse, New York for the holiday and had decided ahead of time to stop partway since I was traveling alone with my dog. The room itself that I stayed in was fine, but the gentleman working the front desk was very rude. I had called twice to confirm my reservation, and to mention that I was traveling with my dog. However, when I finally arrived around 1:00 in the morning, I had to ring the bell to enter a locked door and then he proceeded to yell at me that my dog was not allowed. I was tired, and confused, and very upset that I had to walk my dog back out to the car just to check in. If he had simply informed me (EITHER TIME I CALLED) that dogs were not allowed in the check-in area, I would have adjusted my plans and expectations with no problem. Also odd that my pet-friendly room was on the second floor. Not necessarily a problem, just something I had not experienced previously. The next morning, after being in the hotel for all of five hours, I put my dog in my car and went in to turn in my key. While toasting a bagel to take on the road with me, I peeked in the full-size fridge in the breakfast area. He immediately screamed at me "Ma'am, ma'am, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" I explained that I was just looking to see if they had bottles of water available and he very rudely informed me that no, they don't do that. I don't know why you would have a fridge in the breakfast area if it is supposed to be off-limits to guests. I have stayed at a few Red Roof Inns in the last few months and this was by far the worst customer service experience that I have had. Despite my perfectly acceptable room, I would not plan to return to this hotel simply because of the gentleman at the front desk.
I stayed here last week while traveling the I-81 corridor. The reservation was easy to make, the staff was very nice, the room and bed were very comfortable, and the motel has a nice appearance. I used a coupon and got the room for a very reasonable price. Overall, the accommodations were very nice. The one mistake that the cleaning staff made was leaving someone else's moldy meal in the microwave. It looked like it had been there for quite a while. I suppose that this could happen anywhere, but it should not have happened at all. Overall, my stay was good.
Very clean and comfortable place to stay. Very friendly service. Right off the highway exit. Easy to find. Lots of places to eat near by. Recently updated. Modern look. Really hot shower. Direct TV with HBO.
The people here at this hotel never cease to amaze me its always clean, there is more than enough parking here the people are very polite and the attractions are close by. I travel for business so it helps to do business with friendly people. I can always expect on getting a1 service here when I visit and yes I have made reservations here several times
We were traveling and found this Red Roof in Chambersburg. The staff was very helpful and we had a first floor room which was great. It had a nice carpet, comfortable beds, a refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom was also very clean with a unique sink that I've never seen before. The breakfast area was spotless and we enjoyed the continental breakfast which among other items, included fruit and real coffee. We are light sleepers and even though the motel is close to the highway, restaurants and shopping, it was very quiet through the night. We will stay there again and would recommend this facility to our friends or anyone traveling through that area.
We stayed in this hotel during one of our trips. Close to the highway but not too close, you could not hear any traffic which is always a good thing. We were able to travel to Gettysburg and Harpers Ferry easily. Rooms were clean and had been recently renovated. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was just a continental breakfast but more than adequate with bagels, yogurt, cereals, muffins and fruit. Bed was very comfortable. We will definitely stay at this location again.
This is obviously a motel that has recently changed hands - I will say that the new owners seem to be trying hard. It has been refurbished, but still shows age. There are Inside hallways, but no elevator. Beware: when I got into the room, the window was wide open to the parking lot outside - screened, but totally insecure! Anybody could have come in through the window with ease. (Needless to say, I closed and with some difficulty locked the window.) The corridor door to the outside locked and was card-controlled, but it didn't appear to be very secure. Breakfast was meager, at best. OK for a quick night's sleep, but nothing special.
We stop and the rest areas and pick up the hotel books with discount coupons in them. We pick out a place we will travel through and stop to see if they have something left. On this occasion not only did they have a discount room available, it was the cleanest nicest room we have had in a long time. The personnel were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was a nicely laid out Continental breakfast. We left full and very pleased.
The location was excellent, right off 81 and near plenty of stores if you want to pick up a snack or meal before or after checking in. There was no issue with cleanliness and we were very pleased not to smell smoke as this is a 100% smoke free venue. Red Roof Inns accept dogs for free which is a plus. Our room was large and the bed fine for an overnight stop. The wifi was not working very well in the room. It kept cutting out and we had to stand near the door to get a decent signal. It did come on and off but this disconnecting was annoying. Also the motel is NOT WELCOMING in the breakfast area. There are signs posted about not opening the refrigerator and not removing breakfast from the area. We have been traveling on and off all summer and this was the WORST breakfast we ever had--believe me, no one will pilfer your stale bread and rotten bananas. I realize some people are hogs and will take more than their share of the offerings but this breakfast was absolutely inedible. Having the clerk glare at us as we ate and make sure we didn't feel welcome made me leave after 10 minutes. I'm glad on the way back to NY we stayed in Carlisle at the Red Roof Inn instead. (Note: much nicer staff and excellent cold breakfast) When in Central PA, go there instead.
