The pet friendly room was clean and on the first floor. Just off the highway... so highway cars and trucks could be heard. A few blocks to a shopping mall and nearby dinner and breakfast. Continental breakfast was included. $3 more than Motel 6 at the same exit.
We stayed at the Red Roof Inn on our way down to Florida November 1916. We usually stay at La Quinta but it was under reno and not yet opened. We would not stay at Red Roof again, It was at best adequate, 1. The back door was open and we had the uneasy feeling that anyone could enter 2. This creepy Manager kept hovering around us at breakfast and gave us the feeling that we were not "welcome". Husband asked for decaf coffee and he said "it is a waste of time for me to supply decaf no one drinks it and I have to pour out coffee".. We returned to La Quinta in April 2017 on our trip back North,. We wouldn't even consider going back to Red Roof!
Stayed during our trip to florida. Room was really nice and Upgraded. next to 24 Hours Dannys was a big plus. lots of food options, easy on and off fro I-81 I will be back. very modern rooms. breakfast was limited but anyways while traveling we usually do it at dunkin donuts.
Off the highway for a quick night stay. It was doable with our dog but the place was a Bates. It did the job but don't get excited, the amenities are not abundant. I'd stay again if I had my dog with me but otherwise there are other places to stay if you are in the need for luxury.
Not sure why this hotel received such great rating!?! Yes, price was decent-however--rooms way dated--look like from the 70's!! TB--have had better in job johnnies!! The breakfast was the worst--stale cereal--bagels --few slices of bread--Apple juice & bad coffee?? Not that you expect a lot but please make it fresh!!! Would not recommend !! Oh yeah--AC--sounds like a freight train!!
Our room was very clean and modern. We would return. Aquired a coupon in the travel quide from a rest stop. Worth a stop. Went to a restaurant called Hoss's family steak and seafood, only 1.5 miles away. Awesome. so a great over night stop.
Stayed for one night whilst on our road trip. Was reasonably priced and the room was clean and spacious. Our problem was with the manager. At breakfast - which was very sparse- he followed guests around watching their every move and notices were put up stating that no food was to be removed from the breakfast area. The manager was extremely rude to a lady who was trying to use the microwave. He made her feel very uncomfortable in front of us other guests, so much so that my husband stepped in to tell him he cannot speak like that to people. He needs a lesson in customer service that's for sure.
Planed a one day trip to Gettysburg, but hotels in town were kind of expensive, so looked on line, found Red Roof inn Chambersburg , about 25 miles from Gettysburg for half the price. located 1 mile south of chambersburg just off I-81, easy to find. after the day in Gettysburg, checked in and got our room, friendly and helpful service. this hotel is pet friendly so we took our dog along, note there are not any elevators so if someone can't do steps, make sure you get a bottom floor room. Our room was a two bed deluxe with double beds, micro and fridge, flat screen tv, desk chair, normal size hotel room. clean room, bathroom has a basin type sink. Air worked fine, comfortable beds. Rooms are interior. continental breakfast, coffee, cereal etc. nothing special , nice quick bite, however other places to choose nearby. no pool, would stay again.
We stayed at this Red Roof in Chambersburg first because it is pet friendly for our trip through Gettysburg. It is only about 25 miles from The battlefield. And the cost different is well worth it . The staff are very friendly and very helpful. We got there early and they work hard to get our room for us . The room was very clean and up to date . It was quite at night . The breakfast was simple but good . The only con. was the toilet seat had the broken screw.
There isn't much wrong except the back door not closing/locking. The room was clean and updated. Shower was good, towels likewise. The beds were comfortable and the pillows good. We were passing through from Florida to home and would definitely stay here again.
