You out to the street and turn right and travel through the neighborhood and get to the beach, dog park, playground, and an at ease feeling. Turn left go over Sourthermost point or up Duval with lots of tourist types, shops and things to see. Butterflies, lighthouse, Hemingway House, Truman Little White House, and Mallory Square. Walk or ride, drive if you want. Return and relax by the pool or on your own quite porch. It is all there and easy.
We loved this hotel! We travel often with our children and we are always looking for a hotel that is friendly and accommodating to families, as well as fun for adults. The staff was so helpful and friendly. The happy hour by the pool was fun for the adults. The kids loved the smoothies, fresh fruit and muffins every morning! I would recommend this hotel to any family traveling to Key West. We would definitely return! Thank you Santa Maria Suites!
this hotel was amazing. Five of us stayed in the two level suite. Better than expected. staff in the pool area rea amazing when they seee you find a chair they are right there bringing towels and chair covers. loved the free smoothies by the pool. location is great would definately stay there again
Everything was wonderful. Clean, neat, nicely decorated and comfortable. Only suggestion is that when leaving the complimentary breakfast bread/ muffins, put them in the fridge instead of on the kitchen counter. Tiny little bugs invaded any food left out. Otherwise never saw any bugs at all.
We loved this resort! Very comfortable and the free happy hour and smoothies were huge plus by the pool! Will definitely go back
If you are looking for a stay on the hustle and bustle of downtown Duval, this is not your place. Quiet, peaceful, but just a short stroll to the happenings. Beautiful rooms, friendly staff, and oh, the mocha smoothies by the pool!!! Great place for families, this is a very small boutique hotel with only 30 some units. Recommend the two bed king one floor king rooms. Also, if you are planning to stay, advise the hotel staff when you are going out to clean your room. They clean check its first, then the others. You may not have your on cleaned until after five if you don't.
Good Location and clean hotel. Family friendly stay.
First trip to Key West - four high school friends celebrating turning 60. In every way the location and the Santa Maria surpassed our expectations. We are all very seasoned travelers - bordering on the travel snob mentality, and we were all thrilled with the resort's modern suites - from the kitchen to the comfy beds to the wide screen tvs. The Dove ice cream minis placed daily in our freezer are a special treat, but the morning muffins could be replaced with a healthier, more appealing variety. The suite was immaculate - as is the pool area. Love the always-available lemonade and fruit-immersed water at the pool, the yummy complimentary frozen smoothies and the happy hour! Front desk personnel were super friendly and accommodating. The location - at the quiet end of Duval was perfect for us, and despite the property being completely booked, the pool area remained relatively empty. We felt as if we had the property all to ourselves! Although the beach is what it is, having access to lounge chairs, the beautiful ocean view and a friendly beach boy we enjoyed two restful afternoons under the palm trees. Daily long walks, runs, a bike ride around the island, and a sunset sail on the Spirit of Independence helped burn off some calories. May weather called for blue skies, cotton ball clouds, trade winds and warm evenings. Luckily we reached out to a former colleague who lives in the area for dining recommendations, and we made our reservations prior to our trip. All were in walking distance of the Santa Maria. In every way, the Santa Maria far surpassed our expectations. We can't wait to return one day with our families.
We got a king suit, although a bit pricey but splitting with friends was reasonable for the service and amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall a good experience.
We were a group of 9 and stayed there for a weekend. The suites are really clean and big enough for a group. Kitchens have all you need to cook if you need to. We loved the wine happy hour and the free smoothies all day. Great location and just far enough from the craziness of Duval Street so you're not bothered at night. Would definitely recomment this property!
Everything was as described on the website. Excellent staff and check in (Nordi and all of the others). The pool was fabulous (outside of some loose tiles near the fountains). All amenities were excellent from the free smoothies to the dove bars and muffins. The kitchens are excellent with plenty of storage. The store across the street was less than stellar however. You might want to look up Fausto's for actual groceries. A 10 minute walk to Duval and Truman, jetskiing and water sports at the reach next door and a reasonably priced and fabulous breakfast at the Southernmost across the street. Loved it!
Free beverage at pool area and happy hour! Every afternoon, a staff delivers muffins and ice cream for free, it was a great summer get away!
The location and amenities were even more beautiful than in the pictures. The complementary treats (i.e smoothies, dove ice cream mini bars, muffins, chocolates) made our stay even greater and had us smiling all day. The staff was incredibly courteous and willing to help; especially the folks in charge of the pool bar who stood in the sun and made smoothies all day long for the guests who were playing by the pool. They were always cheerful and happy, which was contagious. Overall, I recommend this hotel for a weekend or a week long stay. You will be amazed!
The staff was fantastic and friendly. The service and extra amenities were great...free smoothies, free sunscreen availability poolside, the muffins, etc. My only complaint is that our room was upstairs and much smaller than the room downstairs. There was hardly any space between the bedroom and bed placement and any room in the bathroom. Our friends downstairs room was 4 times more spacious.
Pool was awesome the court yard nice and secluded with all the tropical plants. The wife and I stayed with another couple thought the room was perfect will definitely be back
Saw the images on the site and said thank goodness no fluffy pillows and hokey decorating. Checked in and loved the experience from reception to check out. It is a toss up always with staying at a new place. The hotel nailed it.
2 bedroom suite --husband & I went with another couple. Great place to stay --- loved all the extra things they do (free smoothies and fruit around pool from 10AM to 5PM. Small dove ice cream bars left in refridgerator each night & muffins left in room each night for the next AM. Also, chocolate candy left on pillows when beds turned down). Bedrooms and baths --a little bit small but adequate. Nice kitchen and living room downstairs.
Hotel was amazing and just what we were looking for to relax and unwind from our long drive. Location location!!!
Overall the experience was fine- I'm very happy with the location of the hotel, but was annoyed by the front desk clerk, who seemed strangely happy to let me know about additional fees that I would be paying-- I'm not going to be staying there again.
The staff was amazing, quickly accommodated our early arrival by clearing a room. Location is perfect. Right by the beach and a block away from Duval street and all that old downtown has to offer. The room was the best I've ever stayed in. Everything is luxurious, with a state of the art kitchen, and turndown service.
