The place was clean and the staff was friendly. The breakfast buffet was extensive and had a lot of options. The only thing is that the pool closes at 6 pm in the evening. I have found that this is usual in Italy but it would be nice to have it open later as we never get back to to the hotel room before that time as we are sight seeing and nice cool dip in a pool in the evening would have been amazing.
This hotel isn't in the centre of Florence, but there are bus stops just across the road from it. And bus tickets are only 1.20 euro (which you have to purchase at newsagents, there is one down the road from the hotel). The bus in the morning was crazy busy, we were always stood up. There were signs saying beware of pickpockets, but luckily we had no problems with this. We did walk into the centre one day, it took about 50 mins, but we enjoyed seeing the more local areas not just the tourist side of things. The hotel itself from the outside doesn't look very nice and is hidden behind a petrol station. However don't let this put you off. The staff were very friendly as we arrived. Our room was big, the bed was much larger than a double bed. There was a bath and a shower, i used both and it was lovely. The whole room was very clean as well. The Tv had one english channel. There was a safe but we couldn't figure out how to use it and weren't too bothered as we had locks on our suitcases. There was also a mini fridge but the prices were very expensive (no surprise). Maids cleaned the room every day. The only problems we had with the room was that we were facing the main road and it was very loud. There is a bell tower not far away as well so every hour you would hear it ring. If you are a light sleeper definitely ask for a room at the back of the hotel. Also the pillows were very flat, so we asked for extra pillows which staff gave us with no issue. We used to pool two days while we were there and it was lovely, it was never very busy, we always got a sun lounger. And there were only ever a few people in the pool. It was as clean as an outdoor pool can be. and had a shallow end as well as a very deep end. There are no lifeguards. We got a drink from the bar one day whilst at the pool and found it very expensive, we ordered one cocktail and one beer, the cocktail was so strong i couldn't actually drink it unfortunately. We then found on the last day we had been charged for more drinks we hadn't actually ordered. When we looked at the receipts and the signature on them, we could see it wasn't either one of our signatures and we knew we hadn't been at the hotel that day anyway. We explained this to reception and luckily they understood and took the charges away. So just be careful to check all the charges at the end and check the name on the receipt you are signing for! We had breakfast every day and were pretty happy with it, it was a large buffett which was constantly being refilled. There was bacon, scrambled egg, mini sausages, toast, croissants, fruit, cereal, cakes, ham/ salami, mozzarella balls. Juices, water and hot drinks. Wifi didn't work very well in the breakfast room, but worked brilliantly in our room. Florence itself was amazing, we walked all the way up to the top of the duomo and the bell tower (my calves ached for days afterwards haha) but the views were worth it! also seeing how they designed/ made these buildings back then is very clever. Its worth going to the museum. You cannot buy tickets for these things at the doors, there are a few ticket offices around the city you can buy the tickets for these in- you also have to book a date to go in advance, as they are always fully booked on the day. Restaurant prices weren't cheap but they weren't exactly expensive either. Just remember they do add on a coperto charge which is usually (2 euro a person) it will tell you on the menu how much, and some places charge a service charge instead which includes the Caperto in it. The most we saw was 15% service charge. There was one nice restaurant down the road from the hotel and a big supermarket as well. This hotel is perfect if you want a few days just relaxing by the pool as well as a city break.
not too far from city center , good staff. good breakfast. lot of free parking at the hotel. bus to the city center 2 minutes from the hotel. good rooms air condition very very good, clean rooms. excellent staff.
Very spacious clean rooms. A lovely pool to relax. Found staff very helpful and pleasant. Would definitely recommend a stay here. No 23 bus stops right outside and takes you into the centre of florence.
Great hotel close to the center of Florence with bus stops directly across the street. Very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant is on a covered patio overlooking the pool, and the food was very good.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, the swimming pool was a bonus and the staff can not do enough for you. The room was spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable, even near a road it was very quiet.
Attended as part of a tour group, our rooms & keys were ready upon arrival. The staff were friendly & helpful, supplying maps & information about the area. The hotel is an older one but clean & in good repair. The room was spacious & clean, the room consisted of two queen sized beds which were clean & comfortable. The ensuite was clean. The Wi-Fi was free & strong. The room was quiet & the air conditioning functional. It was a short walk to transport, plus there were shops & eateries close by plus a laundromat. I would certainly stay here again.
We stayed in Italiana hotel and found the staff very friendly and helpful especially Giua and Giada on reception nothing was to much trouble. We relaxed by the pool when not visiting Florence with a few drinks. We found the staff serving in the restaurant and bar to be efficient and friendly especially Ziueb . Our two girls were very reluctant to leave and will miss all the staff.
Great hotel for visiting Florence center - near to the bus station, hotel parking, good breakfast and very nice pool for refreshing after hot day in the city, nice and clean rooms with air condition and nice facility.
We booked this hotel as a base for exploring Florence/Tuscany as part of a flight and hotel package from the UK. We read all comments about it on trip advisor which were helpful. We didn't hire a car, but travelled by bus into and out of Florence, 10 trip ticket costing only 10 euros. While in the UK we had booked 2 "day excursions" (not through the hotel) and had problems receiving the details about our trips whilst we were in the UK. The receptionist at the hotel, phoned the company for us, had the information we needed emailed to the reception, printed off our vouchers and also arranged for the company to collect us from the hotel at no extra charge! (We were expecting to have to travel into the centre of Florence to join up with the tour!) There were many other queries we had for the various receptionists we saw at the hotel and all the staff could not have been more efficient, courteous and helpful. Breakfast was good quality and good variety. We didn't eat in the evenings at the hotel, but found a restaurant a 10 minute walk away which was very authentic Italian, again this was mentioned by the staff when we asked about restaurants in the area. Our room was spacious and clean. It had air con. Comfy bed and powerful shower. The hotel location is perhaps a 20 or 30 minute bus ride from the centre of Florence. Again the receptionist wrote on a map the bus stops and bus numbers we needed to go to and come back from town, which was really easy. We would suggest if you are arriving with cases at the train station that you get a taxi (20-25 euros) to the hotel. We have no complaints whatsoever about the hotel and would definitely stay there again and recommend it.
