As a SPG plat member, I am very proud of this property. The rooms are beautiful and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. It was like staying at a florentine palace 😀. This place is walking distance from all major sites. The breakfast at Winter Garden resturant was very good. We are definitely returning to this property again!
This review is on the Tea Time they do daily. We were in town celebrating my birthday and i love to do tea time. As an American, i dont get to do it often, we mostly do it while in Europe. So, they offered it for about 24Euros per person so we went. We truly enjoyed it, the tea was good and the selection of biscuits was ok, not too fresh but we arrived at 5pm (the last seating). The staff was very attentive and nice, and even brought our some sample chocolates when they found out it was my birthday. IF we could afford to stay here, we would have!
We spent two nights for Easter in this hotel. The city of Florence is Wonderful and must be visited anyway. The hotel is in front of the Arno river and near the Ponte Vecchio bridge. The hotel is quite small but very nice. Everyone is professionnal and kind. You can ask anything and they try to do it. From the welcome and during all the stay. As Platinum member, They offer me for evey evening the champagne celebration... Was nice. Breakfast is very good with very fresh products and once again, you can ask almost everything. The only bemol was the fact as Platinum member someone told me by phone I've been upgraded in a junior suite, but at the arrival, it was the room I've booked except a better view .... a little bit dissapointed but anyway, this hotel and the team is very exceptional.
St Regis Florence is one of those few hotels where you know your stay will be absolutely perfect the minute you arrive. Everyone you meet is super nice and genuinely ready to assist. We stayed in a fantastic Jr Suite overlooking the Arno river and even having the sights of Ponte Vecchio. This was probably the largest Jr Suite we have seen, in fact most hotels' 1-bedroom suites are smaller. The Suite was very well furnished with 1 and 1/2 baths, plenty of closets and extremely comfortable bed. The winter garden was a pure delight for afternoon tea or before dinner drinks, including the daily champagne sabering which is not to be missed! Last but not least, the butler team deserves special mention. Our stay was within a few weeks of our big wedding anniversary. Upon arrival we found the suite beautifully decorated with anniversary insignia and a card was left by the butler team. It should be noted that nobody at the hotel was contacted ahead of time and given this information. We were married at St Regis New York, so presumably St Regis guest profiles truly span the world! Both my wife and I were speechless and, of course, enormously grateful to both the local butler team and the St. Regis brand.
The St Regis Florence lived up to its incredible reputation for the hotel, the rooms, the food (breakfast buffet was wonderful and plentiful). Driving is difficult, parking is the largest problem the hotel faces. But the St Regis handles it all with ease via valet parking and the customer sees no problems. How? Ask for Aldo! Aldo is gentleman who works in the lobby and handles any and all problems with you car as if you are the only person staying at the hotel. My compliments to Aldo and to the entire hotel.
Great location near the train station, perfect for thise travelling Italy by train. Major sightseeing locations within a 10-15min walk. Concierge was fantastic and had last minute vouchers for the Academia. Special kudos to the mature aged gentleman at the door (grey hair in a handsome manner - The Firenze Santa!). Always greeted us with a genuine smile. Classic hotel with a great cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately our room was located next to a development undergoing construction. Every 10minutes you could hear the rubbish being funneled down. Oh yeah, the breakfast at the balcony. Something that truly shouldnt be missed. Fresh and sweet fruits. Everything about breakfast was memorable. Setting, food, egg benedict (although the St Regis Osaka one was better). Customer service was fantastic but its nothing memorable. As a hotel chain Four Seasons sets the bar for memorable customer service that lasts. Even today I still remember the names of their staff. In my opinion that’s the kpi for customer service.
This is the second time in 12 months that we have visited Italy. This time Florence and Rome and last Venice and Rome. As always was fantastic..... the art, the food the culture, the people... of course the shopping (per my wife) but what really made our trip an overwhelming success was the St Regis. WOW! Where do I start, the location is exceptional on the bank of the Arno. The building and facility was immaculate and decorated impeccably well to the period and the stature of the hotel. But what really made the property standout was the team working there. From the doorman upon entry, the concierge, and the reception at check in they were truly amazing. They made us feel welcome and at home but at the same time were precise and elegant in managing every step of the process. Yes my wife and I are SPG Gold travelers but truly I believe that their service level is maintained for all. Our room was prepared exceptionally with the roll away for my daughter. We appreciated the upgrade that was provided and also the small gifts and the thoughtful handwritten notes from management as well as housekeeping. I know that butler service is available but I truly don't know what other services that they would provide since our shoes were polished, clothes were hung, the cleanliness was over the top. But again the staff or better described "the team" acted a one. In the morning, smiles and a good morning. The restaurant and bar staff were excellent and helpful. Always willing to serve but to also converse and provide assistance with anything that you ask. The concierge, Aldo, is exceptional with advice on everything from museums, walking, tours and of course restaurants. I could go on and on.... if I haven't already.... but I end with a warm GRAZIE MILLE to everyone at our new St. Regis Florence family. We will return....soon I hope.
Fortunately this was the last hotel we stayed at in our trip across Italy, because it would have been hard to stay in any other hotel after this one. The hotel rooms and common areas were the most beautiful rooms I’ve ever seen in a hotel. And the staff was the nicest of all of the hotels we stayed at in Italy. Our only bad experience was that we got ripped off by the taxi driver who took us to the train station after our stay, but clearly that is not the hotels fault. Every other aspect of our stay was perfect. I can’t wait to come back.
As an experienced traveller, I can categorically say this is the best hotel I have ever stayed in & I have travelled far & wide across the globe. Location - Excellent Hotel decor, ambience, look & feel - Magnificent Staff - from check in to concierge to breakfast staff to bar staff to spa staff - Impeccable manners, attentive, helpful & chatty. Rooms were beautiful with luxury bed, fresh water every day & turndown service. Business Centre great to print off tickets, boarding passes etc - staff assisted when asked This hotel experience was like a step back in time to a 1940’s era of grand opulence, chivalry, exquisite attention to detail, first class plus customer service. Special mention to Aldo & the gents on the front door - always so cheery, helping & suggesting places to go - what a professional team of gents there to send you on your merry way & welcome you home at night. Had a wonderful stay. Convenient location. Flawless service. Got upgraded to a Grand Suite with complimentary butler service, amazing view from the balcony. Great dinner and breakfast experience in their michelin starred restaurant.
